MonsterVerse Thread = Godzilla VS Kong : Out Now On HBO MaX & Theaters

Sitting in the theater now patiently waiting. Hope it's not a disappointment.

Cloverfield was beyond garbage, should've been a TNT original movie IMO

Saw it last night on 3D.

Movie was good, there could have been more fighting scenes between the giants imo. It was a bit too focused on the human side of the film, but I suppose they were trying to keep the suspense and kept us wanting and waiting for the massive fighting/action scenes. And heisenberg's role on the film was shortlived, but sets the tone for the movie.

When gojira brings out the special moves in the end :wow: :pimp: . The tail lighting up, building up to the the blue flame/beam. Wow. The scream was close to 80's authentic as well. After he served those two muto's at the end, half the ppl in the cinema were clapping haha.

Would watch it again in the cinema. 7.5/10

Build up of the movie was terrfic and first interaction between Godzilla and Muto was thrilling. Movie started dragging after the Hawaii battle scene and the fight between Mutos and Godzilla was decent however felt like Mutos wasn't really a challenge for Godzilla. The military just ran around the city during the monsters fight and didn't have much impact toward the story and Godzilla was too 'friendly' towards the humans. The CGI was fantanstic but hoped there was more use for Bryan Cranston's character and Ken Watanabe. Perhaps had too much expectation after watching the trailer and had hoped for more depth in the origin of the monsters. 6.5/10 for me

ok,  ill be back after i see it.. these spoilers are calling my name

Just saw this. Went in with no expectations and was genuinely pleased with the movie... The movie didn't seem too long, story kept me engaged throughout, and the visuals were good (not asm2 level, but good regardless)

I did, its ok, but not a big need. Spiderman was amazing in 3D, this was just kind, eh. The effects in this movie aren't needed that much in 3D.

I enjoyed it, didn't have high expectations but it was good. Visuals were dope and the fight scenes were cool.

Way better than the '98 trash by far.

Went in with no expectations and was still disappointed.
For a movie of it's magnitude there were no memorable moments. None. Nada. Zilch.. ok maybe except...

The two atomic breath scenes :pimp: :pimp: :x

other than that the movie just seemed like a giant blur.

I didn't feel attached to any of the characters except Cranston's
and he gets offed so early :smh:
besides his death didn't even seem important throughout the movie.

CGI was on-point tho.

Not enough fight scenes.

The plot sucked.
The military's tactics made absolutely no sense.
"yea lets just carry this nuclear warhead through a heavily populated city!"

Movie was a 4/10 for me.

Now that I think about it.. I prefer Pacific Rim over this disappointment.

Really enjoyed the film!

For a blockbuster, I was surprised how much they focused on the story and not the creature itself. I mean, for like 20 minuted of the film, my dude was just swimming

. But it was really good, especially the second half. The final battle that he fought was so bad ***.

My biggest complaint is that he wasn't shown enough. It definitely worked to a degree, but they could have added more scenes with him, especially fighting.

I'll tell you this much, I felt like he was portrayed more of a superhero than a lot of these comic book films.

If you're heading to Emeryville then you might as well go to a real IMAX theater inside the Metreon. That and the Tech Museum are the only two legit ones iirc.

Driving from Fairfield... I'll just hit Sacramento..

Don't feel like paying toll fees and driving a hour to SF just to see a flick.

So disappointed in this movie. Barely had any Godzilla. Fighting was wack because they kept panning away. The humans were pointless they literally did nothing but run around or follow Godzilla.

Truthfully I felt more for the other monsters because their motivations were well explained. Godzilla, not so much.

Save your money.
