Godzilla wasn't showed much to keep him exclusive. Every scene he was in was well done and was climatic. The first couple of times the camera was on him were great climatic moments.

why the hell are you coming into a movie thread, after its release, and not expecting spoilers?

edit, pretty much what DangerousG said

I think people wanted a pacific rim type action in this movie. I didn't expect Pacific Rim, I expected Godzilla to be shown similarly to how the shark in Jaws was, give quick shots and when you reveal him then go all out. If the final act of this movie wasn't as awesome as it was then I'd be disappointed. But all that waiting paid off in my opinion.

Also forgot to mention how pumped I was after seeing the trailer for Interstellar!

When Cranston died :frown:
His emotion carried the first act IMO and got me invested in the story. If he wasn't there and we had to rely on Aaron Taylor Johnson throughout then it would've dragged.

i cant understand the hate for this movie. the direction on this was on point.

if you go in looking for a pacific rim/heavy fight scene type of movie you will not like it.

if you go in looking for a cloverfield/jaws/ suspenseful type of movie you will like it.

didnt like:
they did cranston like dmx in romeo must die
the whole bomb suplot was predictable. I knew somehow the bomb would have to be disarmed and moved away from the area in a matter of minutes.

loved:
the director's way of going in on godzilla/monster shots and pulling away
pov shots
cgi
it seems like ken watanabe's character's only job was to make the concerned/interested/face and give vague direction. he literally makes this face the entire movie

The movie was Good BUT it was not what I paid for, I paid to SEE godzilla, not a disaster movie w/ a godzilla cameo. I would have been OK if the 1st time he fought the MUTO and it cut away was the only time but the 2nd time was just stupid and a cop out. That said when they did show godzilla it was great. Cant for a sequel w/ the focus on monster vs monster/s

Just got back and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The build up was fine to me and G had enough camera time in my opinion. Just made everytime he did appear more effective. The airport scene and initial radiation breath had me :wow: . The fatalities by G at the end... Deer gawd.

Solid 8/10

I just came home from watching it and :wow: :pimp:

One thing I didnt like was the fighting scene at first. I was like alright they are going to fight then they show the tv of them. Then another scene and next thing you know scene changed. I really thought we wont see them fight until more in the end....overall good movie

was really hoping they were going to show him stand up during this sequence...it cuts away just like the gif

...gonna go see it again tomorrow

Early box offices estimates are in....Friday is looking like 35-38m, anything over 36m would give it the biggest single day take of the year so far. WIth that number, its gonna be well on its way to a $90m+ weekend!

Maaaaaaan TOLD YALL TO BELIEVE IN THE SHIELD GODZILLA

Also, like i predicted... its gonna top Pacific Rim's domestic gross before its second weekend

I still don't understand how anyone liked Pacific Rimjob. That is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Loved this Godzilla flick. Glad I didn't watch any trailers for it, movie caught me off guard at how incredible it was.

Went and saw the movie today.

I thought it was an AMAZING movie. :nthat:
They definitely did the the whole franchise justice. Everything was just right.
I'm a fan of Kaiju movies and such and this was well worth the wait and money.
I definitely recommend watching. :smokin

i only remember Gzilla killing only ONE of the mutos. i left theater wondering how could i miss what happened to the other one.

Ken watanabe never ever looked at anybody directly lol

the scene when the radiation door had to be shut was saaaaaaaaaaaaaadddd

the mutos designed sucked imo

the monsters looked so AWESOME in Pacific Rim. the mutos looked so generic in comparison

i saw in imax 3d. wasnt worth the extra cash.

yooooooo when the tail......turned....blue...... :wow:

^ Nah Godzilla got em both.

The first one was when he tail whipped the MUTO into the skyscraper and I think it got impaled by some of the debris. I dont think anyone can forget how the second one died

They made Zilla so damn ill in this movie.

SPOILER...sorta

That scene where he confronted the female Muto after it laid its egg, the lightning came and highlighted Godzilla standing up tall.

Also the scene where they jumped from the plane and had the red trail, as dope as it was in the trailer. Loved the movie, plus I was in one of those theaters with the reclining leather seats.
