EVO 2014 - Who's hyped?

What Evo is:

The Evolution Championship Series is an annual video game tournament that focuses exclusively on fighting games. In fighting game communities it is commonly referred to as "Evo", and is currently the premier video game tournament for fighting games. The tournament uses the double elimination format. As with Super Battle Opera, the Evolution tournaments are so well known that typically contestants will travel from all over the world to participate, most notably Japan.

Even if you're not into fighting games or haven't watched any fighting game tournaments you may find it to be entertaining. In fact, there are a lot of people who don't even play fighting games but will tune into online tournament streams.

I would prefer Chris not win as I think it would make things more interesting. IMO its not a sure thing there are always upsets.

Wow..I never knew. I grew up in the gold era of fighting games. Just seeing people spend so much money at the arcades and literally being idolized for being so good.

How does this tournament pan out? Like a poker tournament with tons of people entering or just the best of the best?
