OFFICIAL 2013 FANTASY FOOTBALL TALK

I've never played, FFB before. Joined a league on a whim last night. Did no research or setup prior to the league, lol

While he obviously was experiencing "something" that was keeping him out originally, I'm convinced both Foster and Kubiak know exactly what they're doing....


he'll be fine come regular season.
 
Had number 3 pick and and guy with number 2 took Ray Rice, so I had no choice but to take Foster

My team in a 12 Team standard league, Non PPR

QB: Matt Ryan
RB1: Foster
RB2: Chris Johnson
Flex: MJD
WR1: Welker
WR2: Stevie Johnson
TE: Witten
D: Cowoboys
K: Pratter

Bench: Miles Austin, Mike Williams, Hartline, Turbin, Cutler, Fleener
 
starting a keeper league. wanted to know your thoughts on the rules i've come up with so far.


  • Players drafted in first 2 rounds CANNOT be kept
  • Kept Players must be declared by August 20th each year.
  • Keep 2 players max (give up a draft pick 2 rounds up from where the kept player was drafted. Kept player then becomes that round pick)
  • ex: player drafted in 5th round year before then you give up your 3rd round pick
  • Traded player keeper settings: if you acquire a player during the season and want to keep that player, same settings apply to keeper
  • Undrafted Keepers: Players who are kept that went undrafted become a 10th round draft pick, therefore you give up your 8th round pick if you choose to keep an undrafted player.
  • Keeping players drafted in the same round: If player was drafted in the same round as your other keep player, you lose a draft pick 1 round higher than where the kept acquired player was drafted
  • Player can only be kept for max of 2 seasons thus having a player for a total of 3 consecutive season (drafted/acquired yr plus 2 consecutive kept years)

PMatic that team looks solid great bench depth too. I think my only suggestion would be to drop that extra defense for possibly another roster spot at WR.
 
I'm in a pickle with Foster too. Should I just take him knowing his upside or is it safer to go with Lynch maybe. I feel like you really can't go wrong but I'm just a little weary of Foster at this point and I'm not sure if my heebie jeebies are warranted.
 
12 team ppr, we did our draft via group text over 6 hours yesterday.

heres my starting line-up:

qb- cam 

rb- charles, sproles

wr - dez, welker, steve smith

te - myers

def - green bay

defensive player - james laurinitus

k - hartley (NO) 

bench: stevie johnson, ryan matthews, kenbrell thompkins, sam bradford, zach sudfeld, NYG defense.

yahoo gave me an A on my draft and predicts i go 11-3

here is how my draft went, i had the 5th pick

gio is the higher ranked player, but he hasnt been named the starter. he is more explosive than BJGE but BJGE will get the goal line touches

Matthews is the starter but will lose 3rd down plays to woodhead. he got 2 goal line runs in their last preseason game, punched one in and fumbled the other.

If I draft him he is going to suck

If I pass on him he will have a great year lulz

My boy from Houston is telling me that he is fine and I would be crazy to pass on him

Even with a new system and QB issues, there's no way I'm trading Stevie for Tate unless I'm extraordinarily deep at WR. For Brown maybe because that's going to be more of a split than people think, he's better in pass protection and will be out there for those plays and he'll get the bulk of the goal line carries. Think Tolbert from a few years ago but better.

i think david wilsons play will also factor into andre browns reps. if wilson doesnt get off and still makes mistakes ( fumbles, doesnt pass block right) i can see him getting the hook.
 
Is Kenny Stills worth holding onto right now in a 12 team league? Apparently Brees likes him a lot.

I hear you. I guess what I'm getting across is that even if he plays well and doesn't put the ball on the ground, I think it's (at best), a 60/40 split in his favor.
