OFFICIAL 2013 FANTASY FOOTBALL TALK

Forgot to post this last night:

In round 7 or so of my draft last night, one of my boys (usually bottom of the barrel, pretty much gives a donation every year) tried to draft Michael Turner, Michael Crabtree, and Percy Harvin   . After he said Turner we let him know that he's unsigned so he was like "Ok let me get Michael Crabtree." A few of us started laughing. We let him know that Crab has a good chance of being out for the season, and that if he wants him he should probably wait till the last few rounds to take him. So he was like "Oh ok cool, let me get Percy Harvin then." At this point the whole room just bursts out in laughter and he's sitting there all red-faced and embarrassed . I think he ended up taking either Greg Olsen or Stevie Johnson but it was just hilarious that he tried taking those 3 dudes in the same round back-to-back-to-back. He also tried taking Le'Veon Bell a few rounds before that, which we advised against, and ended up taking Marcedes Lewis a round or two later. At that point we were done letting him slide. Nothing better than drafting in person with a league full of your friends :pimp:.

while it may be funny I feel bad for him because he clearly doesn't take ff seriously enough to be in a $ league. he deserves to lose every year

2 trade offers in my PPR league
Send Reggie Bush, Det RB
Receive Chris Johnson, Ten RB

Send Tony Romo, Dal QB
Send Jason Witten, Dal TE
Receive Tom Brady, NE QB
Receive Brent Celek, Phi TE

I'm pretty tempted to do the Brady trade.
definitely take the brady trade

I say no to both.

Romo and Brady will be similar fantasy wise, Romo may outscore Brady. Seriously. Witten is a lot better then Celek
Welp I accepted the trade I just feel Brady is a lot more consistent than Romo. Yah it was tough to let Witten go, but I do think the upgrade at QB was more to me than losing Witten.

Anyone know where I can order a fantasy football kit? Im doing one at my house and I need the board/stickers... I only found off Amazon, just wondering if I have any other options

Thanks

I tell him every year that he doesn't have to feel obligated to be in the league. Every year he insists that he likes doing it and that he wants to play in it. So I guess he's in it for the fun and not the money .

For whoever said they don't like the Garcon pick

RG3 looks for Garcon 1st then everyone else

Could put up numbers if they both stay healthy
If. I don't like conditional circumstances, I like sure things.

Garcon is clearly Washington's biggest offensive weapon after RG3 and Morris. But he only played in 10 games last year. Has never had 1,000 receiving yards in a season, or more than 6 TD's.

Peyton Manning for Trent Richardson straight up? Rice, David Wilson, Ben Tate and Gio are my other RBs and Russell Wilson is my QB
Deal for me. Trent may end up being your best back if Pierce really steals reps and production from Rice like I expect. I'm on record for being colder on Wilson than most because of Dre Brown.

Trent Richardson is a consensus top-8 to top-10 player in fantasy. Russy is a more than adequate fantasy starter at QB. Hopefully Percy gets on the field for him. If you don't like Wilson starting, package him with Wilson to get someone like Tom Brady.

Is David Wilson that much beter than Andre Brown?

I feel like Wilson is going way too early in every draft
My thoughts exactly.

Dre Brown will get the goal line tubs. Wilson has explosive speed and major upside, but he's far from a sure thing IMO.

I'm very high on CJ2K and Tennessee's offensive line improving, but would only accept the offer in a standard format. Reggie is good for up to 70-75 receptions (ballpark estimate).

Yes to Offer #2. QB is the far more important and valuable position in fantasy football. You're getting the third or fourth best fantasy Q for 2013.

Finley is inconsistent but a legitimate fantasy starter at TE. I'd drop Celek for RB or WR depth. You could always swing another deal to improve on the quality of your TE position.

Drafted this team last night, not sure how I feel about it.. opinions?

QB: Tony Romo, Ryan Tannehill
RB: Doug Martin, MJD, Daryl Richardson, Fred Jackson
WR: Dez Bryant, Reggie Wayne, Danny Amendola, Josh Gordon (stash), Justin Blackmon (stash), Brian Hartline
TE: Brandon Myers, Tyler Eifert
K: Randy Bullock
D: Buccs

RBs after the first 2 rounds is pretty damn weak.. had 3rd OVR pick, 12 team.
No complaints here.

Tanny and Eifert provide depth, upside.

Bullock is my sleeper K.

Dude hasn't coached in an actual NFL game vs real NFL defenses and coordinators.

He's not but a genius.

C'mon son.
Questioning Chip Kelly's offensive pedigree is downright stupid.

If he fails in Philadelphia, it's because the team failed to transition to a 3-4 defensive scheme without proper player personnel. Not because he lacks knowledge or understanding of offensive strategy.

At the college level, he was a offensive prodigy at New Hampshire then followed up by raising Oregon to its highest football peak in the history of the program.

Drafted Last Night For My Small Pot League. Ten Teams, Feeling 50/50 On The Roster:

QB: Tony Romo, Jay Cutler
RB: Adrian Peterson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Chris Johnson, Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas
WR: Hakeem Nicks, Cecil Shorts, Chris Givens, Lance Moore, Kenny Britt
TE: Kyle Rudolph, Daniel Fells
D/St: Dallas
K: Stephen Gostkowski
RB's your clear strength. I'm assuming CJ2K starts in the Flex?

Cutler and Fells are surplus to me.

Nicks and Shorts are studs at WR2 and WR3 respectively, but not WR1 and WR2. Use CJ2K or Miller to obtain a legitimate WR1.

I actually really like him . Guys who went after him in the same/next round: Greg Jennings, Boldin, DeSean Jackson, Antonio Brown, T.Y., Torrey Smith, Sidney Rice, Decker, Jordy Nelson. Not too big a fan of any of those guys besides T.Y. Hilton. I loved Antonio Brown last year, but him as a #1 in Pitt not so much.

As far as EJ Manuel goes, I grabbed him because he played well in his preseason games and the possibility of that carrying over to the reg season and being a worthy keeper next year.
I personally like A. Brown, Jordy, and Decker over Garcon. But I understand your thought process.

if you're getting Manning I may say yes then trade Wilson for another top 20 RB

No way. Makes no sense. Russell Wilson will provide very good, if not great, numbers. Why try and trade him to get back another top 20 back when he already has three to begin with. Depth at RB is so crucial that if he lost only one of those guys, which is likely to happen, his outlook looks much different at the position. I say stand pat if you already have Trent.

10 team .75PPR league. had 3rd pick and went with charles, then bush, then sproles. not a fan of any of my WR besides TY hilton. how'd i do?

You may not have the strongest WR1 or WR2, but your depth will help tremendously. If Garcon falters, Jordy and Hilton can step right in.

Sproles locks down your Flex position which allows flexibility in shuffling your receivers based on weekly matchups.

What do you guys think 1st pick in a 10 team lol. This draft was full of laughs tho, guys picking up kickers in the 3rd round

Comfortable playoff berth, with probably the best chance to win the league (without seeing the other teams' rosters).

Elite receiving core like a fantasy manager's dream.

Gronk with low risk and high reward. Same with Bell. Both could emerge from injuries to give your squad a boost midseason.

Who would be a better pickup....Kenny Stills or Aaron Dobson?
Stills. Payton and Brees are pass happy in New Orleans. Kenny plays fast on turf. Started as a true freshman, balled out at Oklahoma.

Thompkins is the receiver everyone seems to love in New England, although I'm keeping a close eye on Dobson.

And they don't trust him in pass protection. He's only 1 Clinton Portis out of 10. He only had 9 targets out the backfield last year. Brown will be on the field practically every passing down. It's gonna be more 50/50 than I think anyone is going to admit going in to the season. Plus, I think Brown proved last year he could be more than just a goal line back.

Well said, Pro. If Wilson doesn't block and protect the football, Coughlin won't hesitate to sit him for Dre. Dre was a beast at NC State, carries a load (N-H). Could easily post 10-12 TD's.

Everyone falls in love with the breakaway speed, athleticism, and penchant for big plays but the small stuff like pass protection and securing the football are often overlooked.

Similar situation in Denver. Plethora of solid backs, but whoever helps keep Peyton safe in pass pro and is reliable with the football (no fumbles) will play the most.

Put my GM hat on and made some moves...Traded TRich for P. Manning and DMac and then trade DMac and Russy for Ridley. So I replaced Russy and TRich with P. Manning and Ridley

RCK: Unlikely. Pead's one game suspension plus missed reps. Fisher will give Richardson a long leash.

JC: My mistake, thought you were receiving Trent. Nice maneuvering though.
