Lock Thread

Offense just flows better with McGloin. Recievers will run better routes with a QB who isn't thinking run first. Pashos return and Veldheer coming hopefully next week should help a lot.

Didn't get to see most of the 2nd half but liked what I saw for the most part. I'm not gonna throw Pryor under the bus for McG yet but I'm all for QB competition in practice this week.

So 1 game is enough of a sample size to have him be the starter? I'm curious to see how he plays when they get film on him! I just wanna win, I don't care who is our QB

I understand the texans are in turmoil and all...but they still have jj watt there and the fact that mcgloin hung in the pocket and went through progressions on his first nfl start is amazing. Pryor wowed us with his ability to improvise and play back hard qb. But mcgloin made the receivers look like receivers. I was surprised how accurate and confident he was on the deep ball against 1-1 coverage.

Beast of a game kid. Beast of a game. If I'm Pryor I'm worried.... I'd hate for him to end up being like tebow...but it's not looking good if some Undrafted guy is out there making line adjustments and going through progressions better than you have all season.

I want to see McGloin continue to start for a string of games. I also desperately want to see some McGloin x TP wildcat packages.

McGloin is 100% starting against the Titans. If he wins you'd have to think he starts the rest of the year.

Very impressed with his performance yesterday, to see a Raiders qb go thru the coverage/reads and actually hit his 2nd/3rd options quickly was amazing.

Now I see why McGloin beat out Tyler Wilson. He's pretty impressive hope it continues. Also hope c wood Jennings & Houston all come back next yr. also if this tm makes playoffs I'll be damned (even tho I sd b4 season started ) #hope we make WC

Even if McGloin has a down game against the Titans. Watching highlights of the game and seeing a rookie read his progression left to right and find the open target is something. I'm not ready to crown anyone. But man some of those passes he made yesterday, Pryor can not do. I do see why he beat Tyler Wilson. The fact that he has ran a pro-style offense before definitely helps him. I guess we will see come Wednesday or Thursday who is named the starter.

I know Rod Streater is happier lol. He didn't have to risk his life to get a catch this game.

I'm going to say it will come down to pressure. Not so much what he can not do, but more so just getting pressure on him like every QB in the league.

The bad part, IMO, about the hybrid QBs. Say a Pryor, or Kap...etc is that you can see tendencies. When they want to tuck and run, what they are not comfortable doing.

I think its no secret now that Pryor looks at 1 progression before thinking time to tuck and run. and the whole where he likes to scramble bit hurts him a lot too.

I mean even when Pryor has time, he waits really late into the route to throw that pass. Also, I do not see Pryor making very many line adjustments which bother me. Especially in this age of football with various defensive schemes created to contain a QB like Pryor.

I love his heart and dedication...But I just do not see him as a NFL QB.

We still need to draft a QB next year, without question. Locking up the QB position is so crucial to any long term success we're looking for. McGloin's ability tested over the rest of the season will be the meter for how urgently we draft one, whether we use our first pick to get a QB or a third or fourth.

And given Allen's defensive philosophy, we don't necessarily need a future HoF out there behind center. Get someone competent who can make great throws on occasion and let the defense take care of the rest. So I hope McGloin becomes more than adequate and we can beef up the lines and get him some receivers and go forward.

RIP Mr53 :frown:
He was my lil bro's fave player on the team while he was here, even dropped $ on the authentic jersey. I'm sure Kirk is devastated too. Too sad man.

Sucks for his family but honestly how bad can you feel for a guy that killed another person and injured another due to irresponsibility.
