DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Also is no one concerned that Jaimie Alexander saw the script and turned the role down?

She think Affleck will be a good batman for what they are going for tho.

cant wait for the WW costume

i can imagine her just wearin a shawl of some sort, kinda like Thor was wearing in Thor2 when he was just chillin in Asgard

Ummm are you talking about the one from 2011?
http://splashpage.mtv.com/2011/05/04/thor-jaimie-alexander-wonder-woman/

While just in early November she was somewhat campaigning to be hired as WW?

When pressed for more info, the actress continued to joke and defer, until she more seriously said, "I've been a huge fan of Wonder Woman since I was a little kid. So I'm absolutely flattered that a lot of people have chosen me as their fan choice. I think that is pretty epic, and incredibly humbling."

"These things in recent years, the fans can get things started and they can actually come to pass, which is kind of a cool age we live in," Horowitz added.

Humbled, Alexander noted, "Yeah, that's pretty incredible, we'll see. That would be rad."

Horowitz then added that it seems like the choice is up to the fans then, with Alexander doing a take to the camera in her best "dude" voice, saying, "So, come on man!"

So no definite confirmation from this, but two important take-aways: Alexander is clearly interested in the role of Wonder Woman; and if the fans make enough of a fuss, anything is possible.

While on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jaimie Alexander has admitted she would be up for the part of DC's Comics female superhero Wonder Woman if it was offered to her.

Im not going to dig for the video in mg phone but it was a beyond the trailers vid. And no not the one from 2011. I mentioned battfleck. She said she isnt going to take the role just because it is offered to her. She wants the character to be done right or something along those lines. I'll find it tomorrow. But she must have declined the offer. How else would she have seen the script. Also DC would be stupid to pick gadot over her.

Also she confirmed that she did talk with DC. I am positive she didnt like WW role in the script.

Yeah i will wait for that proof because sounds like your typical reaching.

I read the article you are talking about with Affleck, she never said no to the role nor did she confirm the role was offered to her, she just said she prefers it not be done if it is not going to be done right. That is all she said.

http://ipad.themarysue.com/themarys...orville-by-talking,52755a54e56d0bb85335646c/4

There have been half a dozen actresses up for this role and to be honest, if I were DC, I would choose Jaimie because she already got that Marvel fame and itll be like DC riding Mavrels coattails again. People are already saying DCs actions are all a response to the Avengers so why further prove people right?

Stop acting like Jaimie is the perfect WW saying they would be stupid to pick Gadot over her. She had just as limited role as Sif as Gadot in the FF franchise, everyone just wants her for the look and a few action scenes, like that cant be learnt or worked on.

I merely googled what i was talkimg about and found articles saying the same thing

http://www.forbes.com/sites/markhug...-sequels-wonder-woman-and-batman-vs-superman/

A shortened version:
http://io9.com/jaimie-alexander-confirms-talks-with-dc-have-they-found-1458724513

After she confirmed talks with DC and knowing the plot to BvS she said:
I’m a huge fan of Wonder Woman. I really think if this is the closest that we’re ever going to get to Wonder Woman, then I’m proud to play Sif. I hope that other comic book entities can learn a lesson from Marvel in how to execute a female character the way it should be done. ... I really would like to one day see a Wonder Woman film or Wonder Woman character, but until it’s done with class, I’d rather it not be done.

But im sure you will find a reason for me to be wrong despite putting two and two together. She clearly had a chance to be in the BvS movie but didnt.

Yah because you are simply reaching like you always do. Where did it say she read the script? I read all those and all it said is she had talks with DC and that is it.

And look at the links I posted above where she says she wants to play WW, it is a week after those links you posted.

Again, show me specifically where she says " I read the script and I said no to the role", show me where she says that in any way form or fashion and I will concede. You posted the same thing as I did and what she said.

Yes she had a chance to be in the film but did she really? According to Veriety: http://variety.com/2013/film/news/batman-superman-1200665552/

Recent reports suggested “Thor” thesp Jaimie Alexander would be up for the part but Alexander’s obligation to future Marvel pics takes her out of the running since it’s a DC comics property.

So yes she had the chance but the talks with both DC and Marvel might be to see if she can opt out of her Marvel obligations but apparently she can't.

And from that same link, Gal Gadot was simply deemed the better choice over the other actresses that tested:

Sources tell Variety that “Fast and Furious” actress Gal Gadot, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” thesp Elodie Yung and Olga Kurylenko have or will test for the female lead, which appears to be the role of Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman.

Lol. You mean the same obligations KNEW she had when she was "campaigning" for the role?

It doesnt need to explicitly say anything. An infant can put two and two together. No one with thaf starpower blindly takes a role. It said she knows the story for BvS. Did they beam it into her head?

Like I said, "might be able to opt out of her obligations", unlike you I do not say and state it as concrete facts all the time, I do not reach like that.

Story/plot does not equal script. Snyder could easily say Batman and Supes battle Lex and that is a story. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the script isn't even done yet. And yes she does have to say it clearly or else you are reaching as usual.

And Jaimie with star power? She isn't even in the top 5 actors in the Thor film, not even top 10 in the whole franchise. No one even knows her outside of Lady Sif, who has a very minor role in the Thor series, this isn't Natalie Portman who won an Oscar we are talking about here.

Lol? Might? MIGHT? You'd have to be borderline ******ed to think Disney would give up any asset from their movies. Especially not their best selling ones. This is Disney we are talking about here. WB is no going to say "We couldnt give the role to the person who we wanted to so we had to settle" They are going to spin it off as tho Gal Gadot deserved the role more.

And yes star power. You act like Oprah level star power is the only kind of star power there is and anything less is nothing. If you can land a Hollywood role you more likely than not have star power. They are many shades of grey?

OOOOHHHH an Oscar. Leonardo Dicaprio, RDJ, Liam Neeson, Edward Norton and many more great actors dont have one. Yet JLaw, Phillip Seymore Hoffman, and Rene Zellwegger do. I guess they are better actors then.

Jamie was considered for WW, but I highly doubt she read the entire script or even saw it. She definitely never said so. At the very most she read a few rough draft lines for WW in it. Furthermore, the script isn't even completed and is subject to revisions, especially with a guy like Goyer involved. So in the event she did see it, so what. Aint like she remembered the whole thing and is gonna spill it online or tell Marvel (not that they'd care).

While I felt she was one of the better candidates for WW and had a good chance I figured as mentioned DC did not want to grab up an actress already doing marvel films so recently and I'm pretty sure Marvel maybe even gave her some incentive to turn down role if she did turn it down. Maybe a bit more Sif in the next Thor movie.

This is so stupid i am not even really gon reply anymore after this.

Well Gal Gadot has been in 3 FF movies and soon to be int he 4th so she has star power too right? So your initial point of star power and it's level is moot? Because Gal Gadot also has that choice, right?

You obviously meant Jaimie had huge star power to say "she simply won't take roles as such with her star power". She simply isn't in that level, not even close.

You obviously clueless what "star power' means especially when it comes to roles though. Jaimie is very replaceable as both Sif and obviously WW, she has star power but it very low where she doesn't really have a plethora of choices when it comes to roles, all these big roles aren't being given to her so that star power isn't the same as Natalie Portman and yes that Oscar means big things. Not just in acting but recognition, look at Jamie Foxx, after he won the Oscar then he moved on to bigger things and offer are coming in left and right, that is star power. Not just from an oscar though, it also has to do with your bankability, Jaimie is far from that, not even close. So your star power where saying she doesn't need to take any roles she is given as if all these great roles that Jennifer Lawrence or Brad Pitt are getting are coming to her, it simply isn't.

And you literally took the "oscar" comment to a whole new level to try and prove a point. I simply meant Natalie has more star power than Jaimie due to it and she has more power and choices in the roles she was given.

And yes "MIGHT", I use that because we don't know what happened behind closed doors. You are just stating everything as if you were there in the meeting face to face with the execs and actors and writers and that everything is a fact. Again, reaching as usual.

This has circled into being an idiotic discussion with you again so I will continue to ignore you once again.

good. cuz I am not reading that wall of text

It has nothing to do with reading comprehension. Putting 2 and 2 together is common sense which you undoubtedly lack.

Don't get the Jaimie Alexander hype. She's a relative nobody. The pool of actresses they ultimately chose from had stunk as well. The film is too bloated because DC is desperate to get their JL thing going.

So much this. I have absolutely NO HYPE for this film. Maybe my low expectations will help this be a better film.

Take with a grain of salt.

ThinkMcFlyThink are reporting that their Warner Bros. source (who told them about David Goyer writing the Man of Steel sequel and Gotham being developed for TV) has now given them an update on the casting process for Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman. Denzel Washington (2 Guns) was apparently the top choice, although "nothing ever materialized", and Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World) was considered before his deal with Marvel Studios put an end to that idea before it even really got started. However, one actor who has been approached is Arrow's David Ramsey. The site points out that this doesn't mean Luthor will definitely be played by an African American actor.

looks like this is more of a justice league movie rather than a man of steel sequel

hopefully superman/clark kent doesnt get overshadowed by the rest

does it really HAVE to be a cookie cutter "sequel"

just make an awesome movie. do somethihng diffrent. break the mold.

it will be interesting how they incorporate all the characters

Exactly. This has evolved from Man of Steel, to World's Finest, to the Justice League in just a few months. Honestly, I'm let down by how quickly they are introducing characters. There are so many good solo Superman stories that would look great as a live action movie. Running with this many characters could either be a genius way of introducing the main characters for JLA, which I heard there were rumors for 2017, or a sure fire way to run themselves into the ground.

But what I really ask for is a good Superman game. Arkham City/Asylum/Origins good. There has yet to be a good Superman game.
