DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

BATMAN V SUPERMAN Trailer Event Will Be in IMAX Theaters [Updated with Theater List]

A serious clash of superheroes heroes is coming to the big, big screen. Last night, word broke that the first five seconds of the Batman v Superman trailer will be unveiled tomorrow morning ahead of an announcement for a theatrical trailer debut event on Monday, April 20th in select theaters. Now we have a bit more info Monday’s trailer event: namely that it will take place in IMAX theaters.

Variety reports that the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be screened in some IMAX theaters on Monday during the event. We’re hearing that it will only be held in about 100 theaters or so across the country, so this will be a fairly limited engagement. That also probably means the trailer will be debuting online sometime on Monday as well.

Per yesterday’s report, once Zack Snyder unveils the first few seconds of the trailer on Twitter tomorrow, he’ll also be providing instructions on how to sign up to attend the trailer event—which looks like to be an IMAX trailer event. We’ll have all the details here on Collider once they’re up.

The IMAX debut makes quite a bit of sense, as Snyder used the cameras for the first time on certain sequences for Batman v Superman. And if you’ve been following Snyder on Twitter already, it seems like he may have been alluding to the IMAX trailer event a few days ago when he posted the below photo.

[Update: Regal Cinemas has posted a list of participating IMAX theaters on its website, which we’ve included below. I imagine more theaters from other chains will be added soon.]

New WW director already hired. I've already forgot her name but she wrote for one of the Thor movies or was on board to be a Thor director at some point or something.

Patty Jenkins? Wasn't she kicked off of the Thor sequel due to "creative differences" as well?

And I wonder what this "trailer event" has in store. I only live 10 min from the Houston IMAX theater on that list, but showing up for a 2 minute trailer, especially when it'll be released later that night, sounds unreasonable. At least give me a 10 minute prologue.

The Celebration Cinema theater in Grand Rapids, Michigan disclosed details for the April 20 event, the running time for which will apparently be 15 minutes.

I hope DC is building out a list of actors and directors they want in their future films.

Actually, they should be pursuing them right now.

Thought this was coming out this summer for some reason..next year? [emoji]128530[/emoji]

"Even though the trailer is said to be just over 2 minutes long, the running time of the IMAX event is 15 minutes."

Don't know what else they're gonna throw in with it, but yeah, having an "event" just for a trailer you can see online a few hours later is ridiculous to me. You'll probably be in the queue longer than you'll be in the theater.

It got pushed back early last year to this summer at first. They needed more time so they pushed it again to May next year. But they didnt want to go up against Civil War so they moved it to March. Which is a weird RD for a "summer blockbuster"

Yeah but look at WS last year and Furious 7 this year, studios are realizing that if you market right you can release **** anytime of year people still gonna flock to it.

While I am ecstatic and looking forward to Leto's interpretation of the Joker, I do feel he needs to chill with the social media transformation pics. Let the teasers and trailers handle the revelation.

was just about to post that...it's cool to give some teasers but damn...

isn't that just a continuation from the first teaser now with a voiceover and superman landing? :nerd:

People going crazy over those 30 seconds that leaked, but I can't hear anything.

Apparently, Batfleck says:

"Tell me, do you bleed? You will."

Yeah, I had to turn up the volume to hear what Batfleck actually said. He sounds like a beast, very demon-like.

Hopefully all these teasers actually lead up to a solid trailer.

I assume the one on Monday that is 2-min long will be a full trailer.

I mean even if it is a 2-minute teaser then i'd be happy to just see something in HD.
