DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

If they can get interviews with the actors and some of the crew then that Justice League Mortal doc should be phenomenal. It's amazing just how close that film was to actually happening.

Will probably end up like Jodorowsky's Dune in the sense that the behind the scenes story is probably a lot more interesting than the actual product would have been.

How am I defensive? I just said I wanted to discuss the possibilities and you come running in that dude has no business posting such news/rumors and not worth discussing.

That is pretty much the argument you're trying to start, again you talked more about disproving the dude/news that just talking about the actual news/rumor.

You could easily just ignore it too or post once about it and be done with than going about it over and over and over again.

As I said, news and reports have been posted from much less reliable source, sometime no source is even posted but you hone in on this one for some reason.

IMAX trailer (I think it's pretty much just the shorter version of the SDCC trailer)

Dude, chill lol I'm only continuing this conversation because i want to know how this is all coming off.

I had one post stating reasons why people might of ignored it, then another one where i posted the only site to pick up the story along with more reasons why it's probably being ignored

I think it was more of people not caring than overlooking it.. I'm all about healthy discussions in these threads, i've never once made it my business to discredit a person who actually gets paid to do what we waste time on for fun.I even prefaced everything i said with stating the fact that i love dude  Umberto is the best "insider" in the game, other dudes probably have a higher shooting % than him but he's hit on some huge stuff in the past year (called Civil War first, Hulk's fate at the end of AoU, the Marvel/Sony deal, pretty much everything we know about BvS)

Let's not derail this thread any further tho, if you legitimate have a problem with something i said up PM me and we can iron everything out.

my bad to y'all if i was coming off as a **** haha i just be trying to play all angles

I really have no problem with you or anyone, I just found it funny. I also found the interesting just because he was involved with WB before and did say he is still interested and after Fury Road, I really want to see what he could pull off.

Anyways, saw the Death of Superman Lives- What Happened? (it's out there for those wondering) and I thought it was pretty good, probably because of the subject matter. it made me want to see the film and I could understand why Nic Cage was chosen and it almost got me convinced that he could have been good too. The pics we saw were really misleading too, the real suit didn't look so bad and the plot of the film could have been very interesting to say the least. I would have been really interesting to see Burton work with a brighter film/character. Peters, the producer, did seem like a giant douche though and felt like the film was doomed from the beginning because of him though it wasn't really his fault why it got shut down. Dude was definitely nuts though.

I recommend it as a good watch as it kind of explains some of the process and production these films go through.

this suit?

Yah that suit didn't look so bad in comparison the one that has been floating around for years. Plus they also said that suit was still not 100% complete.

I also like the concept of the suits evolving like the one with a lot of lights, that was like him being revived and only seen for a few seconds in the film (many though that would have been the main suit) but still so much work has gone to it.

it's also interesting that they've been thinking of removing the briefs outside the suit even way back then.

If Kevin Smith was casting batman he'd have Ben affleck as batman and Matt Damon as robin. :nerd:

Jason Lee as superman.

I think DC had a chance to build something great if they could've had Bale ad the TDK universe reprise their roles and bought on Nolan and Snyder together. It's not like they didn't have the money. It would've been epic.

...and Suicide Squad, nvm.

Nolan didn't want to do anymore superhero film, I think he pretty much satisfied all his desire after completing the trilogy. I don't think any amount of money would have pulled him back to do more.

Master Zik Master Zik Batman Adventures features him getting jealous over Harley Quinn showing affection to Batman instead of him. He then proceeds to start beating Batman to a pulp, with the incident in question being what drives him back to crime.

All Star Batman and Robin has him outright having sex with a woman.

The Batman Arkham Series has Harley thinking she's pregnant for a bit, which would make zero sense if her and Joker never had sex.

Injustice actually had her get pregnant with Joker's kid, but leave it with her sister since she didn't believe she and Joker could raise a child.

Honestly depends on what verse you're operating in at the time, which also applies to what exactly his relationship with Batman is beyond arch-nemesis.
I was mainly thinking the in continuity comics. Not all of this alt reality trash but besides that I haven't read or seen any of these to be honest.

Ppl told me All Star sucked so I stayed away and if that happened sounds like the bad Miller comic ppl say it is  The only Batman cartoon I've watched is the GOAT animated series and that short stint that followed it when he was rocking the gray and black costume, granted your description just sounds like jealousy for something the Joker may see as property. I don't play Arkham and I read Injustice by Tom Taylor but don't recall Harley getting pregnant by Joker in it.

As the Joker in the upcoming film is just another interpretation or an alternate universe, his characterization could come from a number of places. His relationship with Harley could then end up in any number of ways, depending on where the writers choose to pull from.

In Injustice its mentioned in a conversation between Harley and Black Canary, which to my recollection is the first encounter they have in the series. But yes, All Star does suck, very, very badly. Couldn't even sell the hardcover I bought for it for anything close to retail. :smh:
I should be clearer then, I want the movie Joker to be an adaption of the Joker in the comics post Killing Joker. So that and everything after that comics wise is what I'd like a writers and directors to look at when adapting the Clown Prince of Crime.

That's what Nolan and Ledger did and they found great success with it.

I've yet to have anyone tell me All Star was good  yet some ppl still complain about pt 2 (I think) not being finished.

Harley was pregnant in the Arkham series. There's a positive test. The baby was her and Riddler's not Joker.
Now him (most versions anyway) I can see banging or raping Harley.
I would have loved to see a Superman movie written by Kevin Smith and directed by Tim Burton...Nic Cage is kind of a deal breaker for me, though.

I'm the opposite CageGOD can do no wrong, especially back in his prime of primes.

Only thing I would've liked to see more is Christopher Walken as Superman

Funny you mention Walken because they wanted him to be Brainiac (which come to think of it, could be a good choice) for that film while also have Spacey picked for Luthor.

Seriously, dude is crazy. And when Kevin Smith went, "I saw Wild Wild West... that mf'er finally got his f'n spider."

Guillermo del Toro chose Pacific Rim 2 over Justice League Dark. Says Warner Bros loves the script but he wouldve had to start in November, which is when he starts PR2. They might go on with another director.

Just what they needed for this universe too. If they can they should just wait.

How did they think this was gonna work? It's like WB just likes handing Supes Ls

Now they are making a documentary about this would be box office bomb.

Master Zik Master Zik That's fine if you want Leto's portrayal to follow a set of comics or other portrayals. In terms of the original statement I was simply pointing out that saying Joker's asexual isn't really true.

I was saying that cuz I remember with the Donner's Supes with Reeve, Walken was briefly considered for the role of Superman.

That you bring that up is interesting. He would've been a great Brainiac though.

Not surprised. Some of these directors got the balls to stick to their passion projects. I've seen The Strain and it's style so I'm not surprised del Toro would rather do another movie about fighting kaijuus than JLD.

CageGOD would've killed it.

I forget what year it was supposed to come out but his Supes would perfectly reflect 90s comics Superman  He would've brought depth to the character. His facial expressions alone would have you questioning Superman's every action.

I was just talking about the largely held interpretation of the character up to this point in the comics. At the point he's evolved to now he's not really meant to be a sexual character imo. The same way Bats tries not to be. One's focused/obsessed with his mission, the other revels in chaos. I could only buy Joker in sexual situations if he was trolling and playing a long con.

But yeah I understand in other media and even in some other comics creators have gone down different routes. I just wasn't largely aware of them.
