DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

The dc animated stuff has been aight lately. Favorite recent one has been Gods And Monsters. I expected bad blood to be better.

Gods and Monsters was excellent. Best DC film in recent memory. They should honestly think about spinning this current set of films off into a new series. JL/JLU is a classic and we could use another.

The movie was ******* bad

Major plot points made zero sense.. And my sister who isn't deep into this comic game, exact words "this movie is all over the place"

Major plots that made zero sense:

1) Bruce is at ground zero and decides to attack the one person who was capable of doing anything

2) Bruce has no clue about Diana and he is willing to show patience and work with her because of one smart*** remark she makes at a party.. But yet superman is his enemy

3) he clearly makes a reference to the mad men he has dealt with before, but all it takes is a couple letters for him to turn on a dude on the news saving people from burning buildings

4) superman can hear whatever is going on with Louis wherever he is and whever she is (desert scene and when she gets thrown from building), but makes zero effort to try and hear his mother? Not fly around a bit and see if he can hear something?

5) Louis is this great journalist and hears superman getting shredded in the news for what happened in the desert.. She doesn't write 1 story I his defense or make 1 appearance on all those news stations to defend dude

Things I consider nit picky:

1) considering lex was clearly using illegal means to obtain the krptonite, why the hell would he even want anyone in the US government to know he has that

2) and how the hell doesn't supes snatch up lex either time dude is face to face with him at the end.. Guy throws Louis off a roof top and you just fly up to have a convo.. You get your mother back and again, just let dude go on and on running his mouth when you see him again

3) supes shows up to the fight with batman clearly trying to say something to him and batman doesn't even hear him out at least before starting the attack

Affleck can be a good/great batman.. I actually could see esisenberg's version of lex working in a better movie.. Also thought gal was good and could be great as WW

And I like cavill as supes

Also the film would have been far better without the dream sequences, whatever that flash thing was and flashbacks..

Hell if they just showed the grave when the name Martha was mentioned that scene would have been far better, but of course zach had to flash back to the death and the father saying Martha.. We get it, Bruce's parents dying had a signifigant impact on him

Also the last scene should have been Bruce telling Diana at the funeral he has something to show her.. Then them in the batman and batman showing her the footage of the others.. Bruce has no clue who she is other than she was alive in 1918 and he saw her at two events and dude is giving her info on other people, really?!

After they fight together, it would make more sense

Eh folks will still complain. It's what people do.

I never will understand the loud minority who rip TDK but praise movies like AOU and ASM2.

Selective sense of reasoning.
TDK ripped?
AOU and ASM2 were terrible as well. Either troll or half a ******.

When I say ripped I mean nit picked to death. It's almost as if these folks are film masochists; looking to for any imperfection and take the joy out of the film for others and call it "critical thinking."

A few posts ago someone was saying there wasn't enough detective work in the TDK movies. That's real funny because there's never going to be enough anything in a movie and to harp on it is weak. That doesn't ruin or deem a series garbage.

These same people turn around and praise mediocre films. Leaves me like

Honestly everything about the entire sequence was great. :smokin I would pay good money to watch a film set in that world.

knightmare and warehouse scenes stole the show...bad bats

Also, another nit picky point,

This bish Louis is clearly jumping out of windows without a parachute because she knows superman will save the day.. That shocked look she gave when it was brought to her attention was disingenuous as hell

Umm, The Winter Soldier would like to have a word with you. Only complaint in gotg though was how they defeated the villain. One of the dumbest things you'll ever see.

I do think DC/WB has a lot to work with, with the actors they currently have casted.. But man, they really need to get a better creative team in place

And for that reason I wouldn't do a complete reset.. I would just move forward, with better/more appropriate behind the scenes talent

Exactly!!! Apokolips on earth, omega symbol, parademons, Batman taking out folks, and that Hans Zimmer score; my god just pure savagery. Makes you wonder if that actually plays out in the JL movie. What if all the other heroes are dead and the situation is that bleak???

New Gods situation??? Orion??

I'm reading that some fans have started a petition to have Zack Snyder removed from directing JL. I know there is no way in hell that is going to happen. But i'm curious: who would you replace him with? I honestly have no other suggestion. I'm with Zack to the end of the line.

I was thinking about Whedon but he seems tapped out.

Doubt it'd play out like that in JLA, since that film seems like it'll be an Avengers situation, where the entire team is gathering for the first time. A future like that could've been what Barry was trying to tell Bruce about preventing though.

I gotta be honest though. I don't really have faith in the DCEU to do the New Gods justice. Personally, i'd prefer they not even use Darkseid, but that's inevitable at this point, with Lex referencing him at the end of BvS and all.

If Darkseid's gonna be the main villain in the JL movie, he gonna hand out L's?

How're they gonna beat him?

Anyone at all.. Probably James Cameron.. Would go hard after whedon.. And would try my hardest to get JJ Abrams for supes
