he's at the point where he doesn't need to put up with this type of backlash.. he can back out and direct 3 films between now and the release date of this

I dunno know what to think. I like Ben, wouldn't be on my top 10 list for this but he mos def fits some of the qualifications. Hopefully the script will be better for him to portray Bruce Wayne and Batman better than past incarnations.

I'm still a little stunned.

he's gonna direct Justice League and this is the only way they could secure him... just my opinion

I was just thinking wasn't he rumored to direct some DC movie and even came in for a meeting and it was said that he told them no?

Now this If true that's one helluva deal he landed. At least the JL movie will be directed well.

I remember people feeling iffy about Heath as the Joker and Anne as Catwoman and they turned out to be fantastic.

I never heard of heath ledger. In fact i never even heard of batman returns at the time. I guess i was out of the loop.

I immediately fell in love with her as catwoman. Wasnt paying attention to the internet response. Didnt know anyone doubted her. Hard to imagine with her track record.

I am not thrilled but I'll give it a chance, Affleck seems more focused these days.

Everyone hated Daniel Craig when he was casted as James Bond too but people would argue that he is probably one of the (if not the) best to play Bond. Then there is Heath as Joker and Anne as Catwoman.

I still hate him as bond. Anyone calling him the best is high on some ****.

This is Snyder... NOT Nolan.

Goyer wrote all the films. The writing is what made the batman movies and arguably MoS. That gives me hope

i told my friend who told me earlier, if theyre truly going the frank miller Dark Knight Returns story, then an older batman is necessary. so, im patiently waiting to see how they do this

Anne Hathaway didn't even do a great job as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. She was a complete afterthought and a non factor unlike Amy Adams whose miscasting was glaring throughout the movie.

"Ben Affleck as Batman" and "The World's End" are trending at the exact same time. This is NOT a coincidence.

I agree with this. I can't see him as Batman - he doesn't seem dark/moody/intimidating enough to me among other things - but I have liked the work he's done in recent years so I'll give him credit for that and reserve judgment, and hopefully he proves most of us wrong.

I thought she did well. She was better w/o the suit on though acting-wise but good overall. That scene as a maid when she first met Bruce and she did a complete 180, the part where she delivered the prints and she screamed and acted like the victim as the cops came in, when she asked Bats to leave and she says he has given him everything, etc... I found those very memorable performances by her.

It's really about people getting mad about her casting, saying she doesn't have the look and can't be sexy and that she will ruin the film. At the end, most loved the film and the complaints were on the inaccuracy of the film and all doubts on her casting were gone.
