One Oscar and now he's a "great" actor. His performance in Dallas Buyers Club was not Oscar worthy in my opinion, but we all know why he won.

He was great in Requiem For A Dream though. But that's just one role.

Son has big shoes to feel and I don't believe he's elite enough to do it. Son is the new Hollywood flavor of the month.

Leto been good...

Pretty much. Leto didn't just get good yesterday.

Just keep in mind that people didn't think Ledger could do the role justice. I'd go as far as to say Leto is more established and probably just as good of not a better actor than Ledger.

But it's all speculation at this point. For all any of us know he could turn out to be terrible.

Not a fan of the look overall, though. It all comes off as too blatant and ham-fisted.

This has to be Arkham Asylum Joker. He won't look this way when he's out.

Dude just get over it, we live in the world where social media reigns supreme and when they are on set it will leak anyways. They aren't going to be able to keep it a secret anyways, just look at the Avengers and BvS trailers, they have a set schedule of release but since it leaked they had to release the HD version anyways. If you really want to be left in the dark, stay off social media and when there is news on the title that reveals something, avoid the thread for about a week or so.


This isn't directed at you directly but it's like people get mad when there are too much info then get mad at a BvS teaser because they showed nothing we already did not know about for a film that still has a year to come out without keeping in mind that it is again a teaser.

Dishing out trailers with the entire movie in them vs releasing a pic of the Joker, something we all want to see, a year before the movie comes out is totally different.

People complain they do not want to see anything but when in the teaser they show practically nothing amazingly new (because everyone saw the blurry comic con footage) then they complain that there isn't much info. I am not talking about putting the entire plot of the film in the trailer like the Terminator films.


And you just said the pic of the joker, something we all want to see yet you complain that they showed it? It's something we all want to see so what is the problem that they showed it? It's the same with people saying "just release the damn teaser/trailer already" or "release anything!" and then people complain it's too much they are showing.


I'm just saying, there's too many damn complaints on every little thing. Would you prefer peoples blurry distances shot of the Joker maybe looking like:

Or just get an actual HD pic released by the studios?

Just saying, let it go. You ask what these studios are thinking? They are thinking they want to beat the crappy leaked pics or they simply give what "we all want to see".

Lol, same here... I'm about 50/50 at the moment.

I definitely don't mind him having tats, but like others have said, sitting for hours in a tattoo parlor doesn't really fit the profile and they're a bit too "neat" and professional for prison tats done by other inmates. Also they're a tad too obvious...

Joker would get something more "artistic" imo... 

I'm more inclined to see him doing them himself, locked in a padded cell with no pens or sharp instruments... he pulls out one of his teeth and scratches into his skin some obscure 18th century Gothic joke or one of Gwynplaine's lines from "The man who laughs".

I understood what you said. Don't care about that. We know damn well it would've been way more exciting to hear a voice-over of the joker followed by a couple of brief glimpses in a trailer. Not saying he should've been in the teaser trailer. Just think he should've been saved for a trailer period. I had the same complaint for Bishop in DOFP. It would've been dope to just see him pop up in a trailer unexpected, instead of seeing him in a poster that did nothing for me. There's nothing to let go of. Let go of me not letting go.

 

I like how he looks btw. I have faith in Leto.

He definitely looks more like the thug who follows the Joker instead of being THE JOKER himself.

Still not going to write him off though, it is Leto afterall.


Some details are nice though outside of that forehead tattoo and I don't even mind the "J" teardrop tattoo. All speculations of course but I kind of dig the metal teeth, we can surmise that Bats broke them beating the heel out of him? Someone mentioned Zsas and his tattoos and initially I did think that each "HA" meant a person he killed but then again there might not be enough "HA"s in there. The mouth tattoos could be a nod to the comic books drawings though seems unnecessary just for that.

There is something to let go, let go of the b*tching. This is not the first time I read the same complaint in this thread alone not to mention in the others. As I said in my initial reply, it isn't exactly directed at you completely but iirc this is at least the second time you've mentioned studios releasing these pics.

Seems like the Joker keeps getting more and more insane each time they reboot him on film.

Only thing bothering me about this Joker are the tatts. Not the fact that he has them but more so that they're stupid and thoughtless. A joker, a smile, and "hahahahaha". I'm fine with the whole prison tatt thing but at least make them look symbolic and meaningful. "Damaged" on the forehead.

I do think they have to keep evolving and make him crazier and crazier. I think people might find Nicholsons Joker too cheesy if used these days and copying Ledgers is just not going to happen. They do have to find the right balance though and in the end, it really isn't going to matter if he blows our minds like ledger did.

Maybe in the end he'd have that ripped face like in the new 52 so the tattoo would become an after thought after the film anyways?
