DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Agree to disagree I guess.

I believe that TDK is a superior film to TDKR but for some reason I enjoy TDKR more.

TDK>> TDKR

I still liked it, though.

Bane talking mess and kick in bats *** :wow:

The whole ''molded by darkness"
Bats and Catwoman fighting together. But there should of been more of that.

And yea last fight with Bats v Bane should of been more epic.

I still use...

"Do you feel in charge?"-Bane

in everyday conversation.

I like Begins the most.

Oh and Ledger was the GOAT Joker. No argument ever.

And if you don't think Nolan's trilogy was all that then you must not realize how virtually every single super hero show, film, trailer had the essence of Nolan on it. Marvels holy group aside, most new super hero movies have a tad more darkness and realism and that is the Nolan influence.

Oh please. People give nolan so much credit for "dark / darkness". More like he took the storytelling and quality more serious for a cb movie. Which is what directors and writers should do if they strive for better movies. If a character is more serious and the subject matter is heavy then it should be a darker movie. The Blade movie was made before the batman trilogy and it was awesome. I even liked Blade 2 which seems to have bad reviews. The Punisher with thomas jane was also made before and it wasn't that bad. It had some good savagery in it.

My main gripe w/ TDKR is that there were way too many inconsistencies with the story. Script was sloppy and there were a litany of missteps. I couldn't believe that Jonah and Chris wrote the film. IMO, it's right there with Interstellar as one of Nolan's worst films.

That said, the trilogy as a whole is very good. But as I stated several times after TDK was released, I could have lived w/o a third film.

In terms of Nolan's grounded approach to the film, and he's stated this before, the approach he took was basically what Singer did for the first X-Men film, and that came out in 2000.

(as told by Hugh Jackman)

There wasn’t really a superhero genre before X-Men came out. Funny enough, I remember catching a plane while we were promoting The Prestige with Chris Nolan [who] said to me that he’d always had the Batman in his mind. Even way back before 2000, he had the version of Batman that he ended up making in his head. He said, ‘when I went into the cinema and saw X-Men, I said damn, that’s my idea.’ The idea that you could really dive in to the emotional life, to the vulnerability of these characters and that, as well as being fantastical, amazing and action, is what’s going to hook people and make them care. That’s what Bryan did, he had a lot of courage to do that.

TDKR was also hurt by Ledger's death. Having him back could have really helped some of the story, but we'll never know now.

I thought the bane character was awesome besides him not being on ped's and having that dumb voice. Him getting taken out by a motorcycle and shedding tears down his cheeks were not his best moments though.

I actually loved the decision Hardy made with the voice. The lines written for him were amazing. His performance was very good, but again, I hated the direction his character ultimately went.

Was he as bad as the Batman & Robin interpretation? No, but if someone wants to argument that he was just a glorified henchman for Talia (much like he was for Poison Ivy) it would be difficult for me to argue against it.

On a side note, did anyone catch that article where Zoë Kravitz claimed she was denied an audition in TDKR because she was "too urban?" :smh:

What part she audition for? If it was the small part that Juno Temple got then that's dumb. Catwoman can hve black friends.

That was the only role that came to mind when I read her quote..
“In the last Batman movie [The Dark Knight Rises], they told me that I couldn’t get an audition for a small role they were casting because they weren’t ‘going urban,’” she says. “It was like, ‘What does that have to do with anything?’ I have to play the role like, ‘Yo, what’s up, Batman? What’s going on wit chu?’”

I'm starting to think the Batman solo film will be a prequel

Bruh, Interstellar is probably Nolan's most overrated film

That being said, his version ended up being way better that the what Spielberg was developing

With they way the internet wants Cranston is everything, He will never be cast in a super hero movie
