DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

I love BTAS but it hasn't really aged that well imo...

Tried watching a few episodes a few weeks back and realized I just wasn't as into it as I used to after the nostalgia subsided  :\.

Conroy and Hamill are the GOATS though :smokin :smokin

Agreed about it not aging well. Plots were ok and the fight scenes seem so...basic.

Still GOAT for its time.

Really? I thought it holds up really well, Paul Dini's stories are all classic to me and I can watch it over and over again. Even the art style is awesome to watch. Really wish they could convert it to HD.

I think it's TV Land that runs it on a marathon at times and I just can't stop tuning in when they do.

I like the animation style a lot too, the gothic and noir style was and is great to me. Works with the characters and stories well. We really haven't seen one similar or come close after the series ended.

I see what you're saying and I agree. Style wise it was amazing. I'm more so talking about how animation has progressed since that time. I tried to watch the episode where Rupert Thorne tries to have Harvey Dent killed (if I remember right). The fight between Batman and a few henchman was horrible and I had to cut it off

Agreed. I actually just finished rewatching it two weeks ago, and the episodes are just as good as they were when I was younger. I'd say its timeless honestly. I don't have a problem with the animation either. Even though you have series like The Batman and Beware the Batman coming out later, I thought that not only was the writing for those shows worse, but the animated appearances varied from decent to terrible. BTAS is like Brave and the Bold, works well for the setting and tone the series is going for.

Don't agree, but it's most definitely top 5. It's cancellation will hurt my soul forever :smh:
It's top 3 for me. It's BTAS then JL/JLU and then YJ.

In no order: Batman the Animated Series, Spider-Man the Animated Series, Justice League (I just throw Unlimited in with it honestly), Young Justice,Teen Titans; with Spectacular Spider-Man and X-Men the Animated Series both getting an honorable mention. The first is another another show that ended before its time and the second is still the best X-Men show we've ever gotten in my opinion.

I remember the xmen show in the late 90s/2000s which was pretty cool but I haven't watched a marvel animated show in a while.

^

Underrated :smokin

Guess I'm in the minority but that old noir style just doesn't do it for me anymore . I agree that it fit the show perfectly but after being spoiled by years of fantastic DC animation since that show ended, I don't look back often  *Ye shrug*. I feel the same about 90's X-men :\

I Still want the Batman solo film to be a prequel

??? Isn't that Batman Begins? Or do you mean like a movie about his training with the best in to world, and the movie ends with him donning the bat suit in the last frame?
Nah I mean a prequel as in like 5 years prior to BvS

A film that covers him and Robin's last mission(s) and Gordon's presumed death

Something to show how he ends up so "****** up" and further elaborates on the flashbacks were likely to see in BvS

Rumor around now is that Jenna Malone might actually be Barbara Gordon instead of Carrie Kelley.

Wolverine and the X-Men?

Dope show but the 90s X-Men were better

Watch Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Only two seasons tho :frown:

Too bad cuz those writers could've taught the MCU writers how to weave plots and make good villains.

Should've bought the toys

ive seen that on Netflix I think and I've been curious to check it out. Might have to watch it now

Do it. Adapted some cool Marvel stories too. Secret Invasion, Ultron Imperative (basically animated AoU except better), Ballad of Beta Ray Bill (their version of BRB's first appearance in the comics), etc.

Also the only time Kang has been done right outside of the comics. That show is :smokin
