DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Warner Bros is a terrible studio. they need to just let DC get their own wing and let them rock out.

Won't happen though because their studio head has literally hitched the companies entire success on these films.

Respect for that review law3001 law3001 .

It sounds like a lot of reviews are saying the same thing. Great action, great character acting and relationships, strong first act, Waller was great, but it loses direction in the latter half, Joker is barely in it and not necessary, villain is underutilized, and some of the editing is haphazard.
 
Leto is saying a lot of his Joker scenes were cut from the film.

Surprising because I'd think they would of tried to ram as much of that in as possible

It's not really a surprise you're grouping certain ppl who share an opinion together and then dismissing them outright. You do it in these threads constantly.

I don't hold much stock in critics reviews when it's a movie I'm going to watch (or won't) regardless but they play some role when it's by studios I have little to no faith in.

That aside I just find it to be a real spectacle that time after time a studio can release a movie in a certain genre and it consistently gets ******* on the way it has so far. I find that fascinating just by the averages. Its not even sequels in a trilogy or franchise. Its a whole shared universe getting ******* on.

It's funny to me to see the critics voice their displeasure with a movie and then see the excuses made by director and studio, the truth comes out about how much of a cluster**** the process was, and heat how they've changed just to see them **** up again. Plus the fans getting so mad :lol: The stuff I read on other forums.

I don't let critics tell me if a movie is good or bad but they can raise or lower my expectations accordingly. I hate to waste time and money on mediocre ****.

Sounds like whoever doing these edit cuts decissions for WB/DCU needs to be let go.

The movie was good just not a masterpiece. I felt the same after i left from Age of Ultron, all the hype but just a good movie that sy failed to be great.

Leto did fine and i think he will be amazing opposite Affleck. I like they purposely didn't have them interact in this to save for the batman solo
 
There is a nid credits scene but no end credit btw. Kinda sucks the comic con trailer kinda ruined the mid credit surprise. But again love that they tied it together.

Ayer did a much better job with Easter eggs thsn Snyder. They were quick snd painless no three montage of footage
 
If you have an aversion to DC, minus whale sit this one out. SS has already been thoroughly dumped on in every nook and cranny of the internet and entertainment world. Just keep your money and let the DCEU die if you don't like it. My impression from the reviews, even the bad ones, was that this is still a film I can potentially enjoy.

I don't understand the hate or pile on for this universe. If this were the first movie and nothing had been out yet, I'd understand. To this day I still haven't seen G.I. Joe: Retaliation or Transformers: Age of Extinction. I'll more than likely never watch or discuss either and I'm happier for it.

I honestly think some people take pleasure in s****** on DC. They're never around when it's positive, but stay lurking to pounce on this thread when it's bad. They even ran rfx45 rfx45 out of here, he just posts news, changes titles, and makes polls. :lol:
 
I want these movies to be good. I don't waste money for fun. If a movie deserves trash talk then i'll point out what makes it trash.
 
Nah shogun. You're a regular in here. Even Zik's a regular, even though I'd be surprised as hell if he liked a DC film. Especially Justice League next year. :lol:

There's other people who don't like DC that just come in here after bad news just to pile on though. It's like clockwork. They'll repeat everything ad nauseam, repost the bad reviews, talk about how let down they were, how trash DC is, maybe fight with @Paulwest1985 some more, and drown the thread in all of it.

Nah bad movies will get ******* on. Simple as that. DC had their rights. WW is gonna be their saving grace. Based on the first trailer, JL is gonna be meh.
 
as long as the movie doesn't take itself wayyyyyyyyyyy to seriously AND is bad, then I don't see a way I can enjoy it (like with BvS, singer's xmen movies, singer's superman, star wars prequels, MOS, the wolverine and 3rd blade).. but they did have the animated movie which was awesome

I actually enjoyed the first GI joe movie.. I know it's a bad movie and could have been done wayyyyy better.. but it was done by ole boy from the mummy movies, so you kinda knew going in what you would get

the 2nd GI joe movie was just crap

but then you have the dumb not taking yourself and the material seriously, transformers, TNMT and wolverine origins

like with sam raimi and his spiderman movies.. if you're not a fan of his, those movies probably didn't age well at all for you because the raimi-isms really stand out now
