I think we all have a better idea of why they fight than what the story is.
I figured it was sort of clear Batman wasn't going to let this illegal alien lord over humanity so he's coming through to grill him and if need be humble his *** but that's just the vibe I've been getting through the promotion of the movie. For all we know Lex could mind control Supes in to being a bad guy and Bats stops him or some other cliche plot that causes heroes to fight each other.
