DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Surprised she got the Supergirl role with those pics being leaked.

What villains would you guys want to see in a solo Batman film?

I want to see Hugo Strange, The Black Mask, or The Riddler.

Hugo Strange :smokin I'd love to see the Batman Prey storyline adapted for cinema.

Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, and Mr. Freeze are classic Batman villains that i'd enjoy seeing on the screen, done better in the case of the latter two.

Always thought he'd fit into Nolan's universe well as a side villian.

Riddler is hard to make realistic. Too real and he's just jigsaw from saw with the death traps, too cartoony and he's a poor mans joker

If he ever does come to be they'll defiantly need to throw in a new spin.

Son. Riddler can make Batman look silly. He's one of the few people who can stumble Bruce. Bodies will drop and Batman will look like a fool until he can solve the riddles. Plus he's a genius mastermind who has used other villains to mess with Bats.

Yeah, now how do you properly portray that? Leave random cards in his mail box? Cliche hostages situations over and over again? That's the question. The character is good but the film adaptation will need to be changed some how to make it work

With Suicide Squad being a year away, how did Leto's Joker become so iconic this early? I don't remember Ledger's Joker receiving this same treatment.

Nah. You need Riddler to be a second half villain and have Batman not know he's controlling things at first. Then when Bats tries to stop him, he keeps hitting hurdles as Riddler flexes his mental muscles. Not hostage situations, but stuff that would actually hit Bruce at home.

Or just adapt this...

TBH i saw ALOT of riddler qualities in ledger's joker(of course not taking anything from performance) but giving him the wrong address so harvey dent would be saved, the whole ship incident at the end, switching the hostages for the real criminals, and even having those vids where he asks batman to reveal himself, totally had riddler qualities....i'm sure nolan saw that and thats why they never did the riddler...i'm actually glad they didn't

Hmmm...... I said the same thing for the whole boat "experiment" as he said.

+1

Never a fan of the Riddler anyways. Every interpretation, whether comic book, animated series, 60's TV show or live action film, just never struck a cord with me. I always thought that Hugo Strange would have been the villain for the third Nolan film, but hopefully Affleck/Timm use him in the solo films.

And it's never going to happen, but if I had my wish, I really want to see the Gray Ghost make a live action appearance w/ this music:

Empire's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Cover Revealed

The new issue of Empire lands this week and the front cover packs a mighty bunch. Well, four mighty punches to be exact, two each from the fists of Batman and Superman. This month's cover stars and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice adversaries hail from different sides of the light/dark spectrum.

Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight is pictured against a murky and distinctive Gotham cityscape. “There is just this gravitas to Batman,” director/producer/franchise oversees Zack Snyder stresses in our cover feature. “He is operatic.” And Superman? " In this movie, everyone has split into different directions as to how they feel about this alien," explains Henry Cavill. "Some people love him, some hate him. Other people fear him. Is he a tyrant?"

At the heart of Empire's access-all-areas coverage this month is a trip to the heart of the Batman V Superman brains trust and a chance to meet the man piloting this superhero behemoth, as well as his stars, and get the scoop on the origins, development and execution of this unprecedented super-mash.

Of course, the blockbuster also introduces Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in a way that will then spin directly into The Justice League. To any doubters, Snyder is keen to stress the methodical, planned through-line that supports this newly expanded DCverse. “I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe."

Get the full story when the new issue of Empire hits newsstands on Thursday. To purchase this issue, click here. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, meanwhile, roars into UK cinemas on March 25, 2016.

Tyrese said in an interview that he would be the best Green Lantern, but it's not like the one GL we had on film would be hard to surpass. :\

I think DC might really be negotiating with Tyrese to play John Stewart. I just don't know if he can portray the angry seriousness of John. Tyrese is usually playing light hearted jokey characters.

Joker and Riddler have always been similar though.

Light hearted character probably isn't a bad idea since Superman/Bats are so serious. I imagine WW would be in the same boat too. Making Flash/GL the lighter characters in JL could work. Not saying Tyrese should be the guy though
