DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Rumors and sources don't matter. They are still rumors at the end of the day.

And I have low expectations for this film. Seeing how people ate up the first film, I know everyone will just love this one.

I'd still rather discuss things that has a possibility so I would like a source.

My point is dude just goes talk out of his a** all the time, saying "I heard this" and "I read that" when he is just making it up.

Would you rather discuss a rumor that came from a source like LatinoReview who has gotten them right before or some fool who just want to make up stuff out of his head for attention?

It may not be a popular opinion, but after his impressive performance in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, I'd love to see Sam Claflin play the role of either Flash or Aquaman.

I think they have the technology, it's all about the script and director to pull it off and not make him seem like a joke.

Nah, they would need to film this underwater, and it's being said that James Cameron is working on pioneering the technology.

I'm not even an Aquaman fan, but can you imagine a 3D film which takes place underwater? I can imagine the visuals being on a Gravity-like level.

Which he will be filming with the Avatar sequels so that should be good and ready when or if they decide to make an Aquaman film. Avatar 2 comes out in December 2016 and Supes/Bats come out May 2016 so they probably won't even consider an Aquaman film until they see the success of that film and it's probably safe to say that tech will be there for use if necessary by then.

Haven't seen Gravity yet but I have read the technology used to film that movie was great.

An underwater action movie would be a complete joke  reminds me of that fake Aquaman trailer that hit youtube a few years back.

3D :x there have been reports of movie theatres losing money on 3D. How is that **** still being pushed?

I like Namor but I wouldnt want the joke of a movie that would be made around that franchise. Can't believe universal paid for those rights. He should've been stuck with the X-Men or the Avengers.

I read a whole article about that.

Some guy was just basically talking about the limitations and problems you face trying to make an Aquaman film specifically since he's a hero (cuz with Namor he can be the villain or anti-hero and is unlikely to get a solo). It's like do they talk underwater or not? Is it only in those underwater caves with air pockets? What about the Atlanteans who are suppose to be able to breathe and communicate underwater? Does everything just get switched to telepathy? It went on and on.

Now of course if this technology solves most of that we shall see. Cameron and Avatar sucks balls though.

^But somehow they are making another trilogy :x

I enjoyed it more than Star Wars. Those "look at how great the technology is" movies are always terrible. They might be an exception but I can't think of anything

I think what they can do is have an underwater castle/kingdom inside a giant bubble or something so that they can walk and talk normally when a dialogue is needed, then when in water they can just do telepathic communications I guess? If you really think about it, a city/kingdom being in a bubble seems redundant but if they want to walk around instead of floating or swimming from place to place and function like a regular land city, then the bubble could make sense? It'll also make filming easier for the most part.

Just thinking of a way it can be pulled off.

**** Aquaman, we need a Namor movie. Dude gives no dambs...be ******g squid queens of the ocean like in the illuminati comics.

I forgot to ask how does it make a difference if it is a movie about the hero or an anti-hero when it comes to making those films

A Namor movie would literally deal with him attacking the surface world, getting amnesia, banging surface chicks, then killing some traitors. He'd be an anti-hero and he might drown all of Manhattan.

I don't see how he could be in the current marvel universe without them pussifying his character to a huge degree.

For it to be easier there's definitely a way to pull it off now with current tech but then of course things don't make that much sense story wise.

Also action scenes, specifically fighting leave a lot to be desired.

The way I was saying it was just that as a hero there's some things you can't be seen doing; killing, being reckless with powers, etc. An anti-hero can do all that cuz while he's doing the right thing he's doing it in a way that is not heroic in a sense.

Thor's arrogant at times in a likeable way, plus he learned the errors of his ways. Namor is arrogant in a way that'll piss you off and you won't like him if you were around him but in a movie it has it's entertainment.

Water action can be done I think, was watching Jackie Chans First Strike and they were doing pretty good underwater choreography, of course it looks a bit ridiculous because you know those kicks wouldn't hurt but it's pretty cool. And with a hero doing some hits, it'll be more impactful so it's believable. They'd have to speed it up and make it seem like the water doesn't hinder his movements and they'd also have to do it on a massive scale or just have majority of action on land?

I think we'd have to see how well received a rated R Deadpool movie is received then maybe they can go down that path? Main problem is the budget, if it can be made with relatively low budget (which isn't possible) then they do not have to make up much like Kick-A** which cost $30mil and made $90mil worldwide. A Namor film will likely cost 5x that much to make so it'll have to make $400mil to be a success.

Yeah it worked for Jackie Chan in that movie cuz he's human  I remember that well. Also what's compelling about that is Jackie Chan is actually under water in that they all could get hurt a bit doing what they're doing.

It's different for dudes that have super strength and are even faster in water, you're basically touching Twilight levels of displaying super speed with what you'd have to do now.

The Namor movie don't even have to be rated R to do what I listed. He'd just really be viewed as a villain or in shades of gray if the story is written right (depicting surface dwellers as careless polluters of Earth's waters and all of nature basically the bad guys a.k.a. us  ).

That why I said it'll have to be on a massive scale and much faster paced. Just thought the vid was cool so I post it anyways.

I don't know, seems like it'll be a waste not to make Namor an R film. Just like a PG 13 Deadpool would be limiting him, especially touching up on those topics. You don't want him ******d down, they got to make it R.
