DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

The only good that can come of this is that Ben replaces Snyder behind the camera.

Snyder is cinema Kryptonite (pun very much intended).

Inception... garbage?!?!?!?!

Look, Nolan reached out to Affleck, will the hate for him finally subside now that Nolan actually approached him about the part?

Why Ben Affleck Said Yes To BATMAN; Has Also Been Signed Up For "Multiple" Other Movies

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the process began earlier this year when director Zack Snyder had finished working on Man of Steel with producer Christopher Nolan. Snyder and the studio already had ideas for a follow-up, and Snyder reached out to Affleck to check the star's interest.

It's unclear when these talks began. Multiple sources say the studio approached Josh Brolin, as well as other actors. Ryan Gosling was also a possibility, but the actor dislikes the idea of sequels.

But Affleck was curious, and initial talks focusing on story and character began. Once Affleck was satisfied, WME's Patrick Whitesell and Ziffren Brittenham's Sam Fischer began negotiating his role in the Superman sequel. Sources say that Affleck has been signed for multiple other movies. The talks were so secretive that many Warner execs and most WME agents remained unaware of their existence.

On one level, Affleck’s return to superheroes seems bewildering. The Oscar-winning co-writer of Good Will Hunting drew scorn after donning the red suit for Daredevil, and later agreed it wasn't his best work. After he'd recovered and turned in a bravura performance directing and starring in The Town, Fox offered him the chance to direct and star in a Daredevil reboot -- but Affleck turned it down.

More recently, Nolan offered Affleck the chance to direct Man of Steel. Affleck declined, seemingly because of a desire not to return to the world of capes -- despite being an avowed comic book fan.

Because since it’s considered a sequel to Man of Steel and not a Batman movie, any potential underperformance issues won't ultimately land on his shoulders.

The deal also potentially lines Affleck up to star in and direct Warner Bros.' answer to The Avengers: The eventual Justice League movie.

Also with Affleck being more serious and favoring good smaller films over money these days, then the script must be really good or something he found interesting, interesting enough to sing up despite the risk of his career becoming a running joke again.

He's also signed up for multiple films so it looks like more Bats for him and as a director is a possibility.

No. I was one of those who went to see inception because I expected better from Nolan. It was a garbage movie with no real substance that relied on a stupid audience to just take their garbage explanations about the films plot/environment for what it was.
Just say you didn't understand it and that's it. You're entitled to your opinion even though it's wrong.

The movie wasn't that difficult to understand. You just had to keep track of the number of layers when you were watching it in the theater. Hell, the concept is really close to that story that the Duck Tales cartoon did. I'm sure some of the kids were able to keep up.

I just found out that Jay and Silent Bob video was really his response (according to some guy on my twitter feed). If so that is the kind of "acting" that only proves our point

Thank you. Wasn't hard to understand at all. Like I said earlier. It relies on the audience members being stupid.

The outrage wouldn't be as bad as it is now if someone else was selected over Affleck. Bale wasn't the best Batman and that's no fault of his own. Nolans interpretation of Wayne/Batman left a lot to be desired. The best Batman is Kevin Conroy and will always be the best. Affleck is being praised for his acting but it was so so in Argo and I thought Jeremy Renner had the stronger performance in the Town. People don't like the casting because of Daredevil and unfortunately perception is everything. It was a bad movie for everyone involved. Jennifer Garner was stupid enough to do Elektra and look at where her career is.

That is what I have been hearing lately but it is coming from the same people who suddenly love Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Winter Soldier so I just ignore it. Not saying that there is anything wrong with them (I personally like Black Widow myself) but I wouldnt recommend a book based on my newfound love for Black Widow

Kevin Conroy

People realize that guy has never actually been Batman, correct? He's a voice, nothing more.

I frickin loved James Earl Jones as Darth Vader. :pimp:

I'm not understanding today's need for people to rip Jackman, rip Nolan, rip Bale, pretty soon we'll all be ripping RDJ, ripping Ed Norton, ripping Weedon, ripping Daniel Day Lewis, Tarantino, Leonardo Di Caprio, what the **** with some of you guys?

Personal preference. The Animated Series was bigger in shaping Batman than any movie could. I'm on record as saying I don't like Nolan's interpretation. Mask of the Phantasm is the superior piece.

i've said it once and i will say it again. BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES IS THE GREATEST ADAPTION OF BATMAN EVER. that is right, i just used caps. however, btas is a cartoon. its tough to compare a cartoon to an actual movie.
