DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

One lingering thing about Smallville that did bug me was an ep like in S1 or S2 when Clark thought he found another Kryptonian going to school with him. He was being bullied and the foreshadowed throughout he powers until they revealed shortly after he did. Now that I think about it son reminded me of early Peter Parker (strictly early comics don't think any of the movie versions or even modern day comics) also cuz of his family situation.

Anyway, he had healing powers along with some other stuff. He kept believing he was an alien and his real parents were coming to get him or his alien kinfolk. Then it happened while they were in the woods after he built this makeshift homing signal or something. Son just disappeared and left Clark behind. Never to be heard from or mentioned again. Thing is he wasn't based off of any DC character I know of and story wise they never brought it up again. It was basically Clark meets alien looking kid, bonds with him, share ideas, get chased in the woods, alien kid dips  :nerd: Was that story as random and based on nothing as I think it is?
Zik, Lex was one of my favorite characters on Smallville.

His friendship with Clarke was great for me. I had to stop watching around when he started to become more evil and him and Clarke became more like enemies.

One episode that clearly sticks out in my mind after all this time is the Christmas episode where Lex saw a happy future with Lana but she ended up dying of some kind of disease. After that episode, I think the Lex character started getting more dark, and I had to stop watching
Yeah, that stuff led to their marriage being over and him basically self sabotaging himself. I am hazy on the timeline but I know around the time you're talking. Lex got a bit more desperate but I was riding with him even if I didn't think he was all the way right cuz I knew eventually he'd have to be the villain.

And no argument here, Lex isn't just my favorite he's basically the best character that was on the show. Son raised the bar every time.

@Master Zik

The kid who thought he was an alien (Cyrus) was just a random meteor infected, he wasn't based on any other DC character... basically just faded into obscurity in the mental asylum never to be talked about again.

And yeah, Rosenclown was definitely the best part of the show...

I vaguely remember reading an article (many many years ago) about how when Smallville started out, it started out doing villain of the week, episodic formats, and how/why/that it took a while for them to get into multiple episode arcs - I think for at least two seasons -
So not surprised that the 'alien' kid you mentioned of was never really heard from again.

I remember the show went up another level when it started doing multiple episode arcs - it really stepped up the quality but without DVR or Hulu at the time to help me keep up it really discouraged me from tuning in at the same time.

Man, all this talk is kinda making me nostalgic and hoping the Supergirl shown coming out is kinda decent. I'm hoping it's less of a crime fighting shown like The Flash and more like Arrow

‘Suicide Squad’ Cast Revealed: Jared Leto to Play the Joker, Will Smith is Deadshot

Jared Leto, Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne will make up the all-star cast of Warner Bros.’ super-villain tentpole “Suicide Squad,” it was announced on Tuesday.

Based on the DC comicbook, the story centers on the team of super villains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.

The actors names had long been rumored for the high-profile movie, which opens Aug. 5, 2016, but their deals and characters weren’t finalized.

Here’s the official cast/character list:

Jared Leto – The Joker

Will Smith – Deadshot

Tom Hardy – Rick Flagg

Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn

Jai Courtney – Boomerang

Cara Delevingne – Enchantress

“Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer and produced by Charles Roven, will begin shooting next April in Toronto.

According to insiders, Jesse Eisenberg is also in talks to play Lex Luthor in the film, a role he will first play in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” though the status of his deal is unknown.

“The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one,” Warner Bros. president Greg Silverman said in a statement. “We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under David Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.”

Warners has long viewed this project as the “Ocean’s Eleven” of comicbook movies and has been looking to load up the roster with top tier talent.

Warners still has the role of Amanda Waller, the character who oversees the team (similarly to Nick Fury in the Marvel universe), to cast before the film goes into production. The studio’s shortlist of actresses being eyed for the role includes Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Oprah Winfrey, whom sources say would be WB’s first choice for the part.

Leto, who is making his first pic since winning the Oscar for “Dallas Buyers Club,” is repped by CAA.

Smith can be seen next in Warner Bros. “Focus” which also stars Robbie. Both are reppped by CAA with Robbie also repped by Management 360 and Aran Michael Management and Smith repped by Overbrook Entertainment.

Hardy is currently filming “The Revenant” opposite Leonardo DiCaprio which bows next Christmas. He is repped by CAA.

Second choice is Tyler Perry as Madea Waller.

But honestly, who wouldn't want to see evil Oprah?

Guessing Deadshot will be the main character of this movie since it was reported that Will Smith doesnt do movies unless he is the lead. Srs. That's why he dropped out of Django Unchained, even tho Tarantino did some major script edits for him (supposedly)

And of course I gotta see my bae Cara. Seeing her at comic-con would be . Especially after what the lames did to Liz Olsen

Also makes me wonder what Marvel will do when they unveil their own Enchantress

They can't be serious about Oprah. The film would lose all credibility lol
to me it's obviously just a headline grab but they KNOW she wouldn't do this..

It's a way to elevate a role that probably would of been left out that Variety article
