DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

^^^i see, going to make a trip sometime this week to the comic book store and check this out

Yah. You know how Marvel says this new event will change the Marvel universe forever and it literally does nothing because any permanent effects are fixed through some overused ******** fix such as time travel. Well AvX actually did something with relative permanence. For a few years there was only 200 Mutants thanks to a spell cast by Scarlet Witch. After AvX millions of mutants pop up over the world again an the mutant race is no longer just short of extinct.

Cyclops leads a team as an antihero
Cpt America lets Havok lead an Avengers team with mutants in an attempt to stop mutant hatred
Cable is Cable (sounds like you left before he raised his adoptive daughter, who was a messiah for the mutant race, in the future)

A few other things are going on in the X-Men side of the Marvel Universe but not due to the after effects of AvX

^^ is Bishop a staple still or is he basically non existing.
I think I remember that cover of Cable and a little girl in his arms but its been sooooooo long lol

She isn't depicted as a little girl anymore and she currently lives in present day

Bishop actually just made an appearance in the last couple of issues of Uncanny X-Force. He was brainwashed in the future to join a cult religion dedicated to offing certain people. He came back to present but was caught by the current uncanny x-force. Psylocke is trying to make sense of the ****ery that is his brain.

There was a while where she had next to no presence but she is "back" now.

Still gotta caution you that comics are not as consistently good as they used to be.

I figured this much, I was at my homeboys house and he had a current deadpool comic but it didnt have that same feel I remembered and I just sat it down and that was like three months ago

Deadpool has always sucked imo. Pick up a real x-comic.

BREAKING NEWS: (I'm still waiting on the official word but, various reports are saying...)

BRYAN CRANSTON CAST AS LEX LUTHOR

As Cosmic Book News previously was informed, Lex Luthor has been cast in the Man of Steel sequel that will feature Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman. Now we have been told a batch of new details, on top of why Affleck was chosen as Batman. Bryan Cranston has been cast as Lex Luthor in what is said to be at least a six "appearance" deal (think of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury popping up in every Marvel movie in the run-up to Avengers) and may be as high as ten. Look for the official announcement to follow the conclusion to the final season of Breaking Bad as WB wants to dovetail off the end of that. Regarding Ben Affleck, we are told he has allegedly a 13-appearance deal for Batman. DC is going to have all of their main characters liberally appearing or at least mentioned in all of their movies to portray a more connected world than what Marvel Studios has done so far. DC also does have major interest in bringing Matt Damon into the Justice League now that Affleck is on board, and it is rumored that he is being considered for Aquaman or Martian Manhunter. Regarding Mark Strong playing Lex Luthor, the one thing that worked a bit against him was that he was already Sinestro -- and still could be again. "Cranston truly is a dream casting for Luthor," we're told.

It's funny that we were just talking about Matt Damon being aqua man or Martian Manhunter earlier in the thread too

IM WET IM SO WEST!

Sorry guys... Apparently it's still only a rumor. Hopefully a deal gets done with Cranston still playing Luthor :frown:

Ok, im definitely gonna have to watch MOS again. But didnt they show Lex in the movie? So they are gonna just change the actor who plays him because now hes a main villain (even tho if you knew anything about Superman you would have known this going in).

I mean obviously its not unheard of to change an actor between superhero movies (Don Cheadle taking over in Iron Man). But I feel like thats just sloppy planning by the director unless they were anticipating the movie to flop and not have to follow up with a sequel.

No he wasn't in the movie. Just little Easter eggs sprinkled in the movie (Lexcorp logo on buildings and trucks.) But definitely see it again for the Wayne Tech logo on the satellite, Booster Gold's comic book company on a building, and I believe they mention STAR labs as well.

I think Batman was only included due to the mixed reaction which was more negative than positive that Man of Steel got. Superman should have had his own trilogy.
