DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Finished the Extended version last night. It was aight... Had at least 5 plot lines and was all over the place. Should've focused more on just Batman versus Superman and kept Lex in the background and brought out Doomsday for the first Justice League villain.

On a sidenote, I can't wait for Injustice 2 to drop. Bought it randomly at a Burlington last November and enjoyed the story mode like a mug.

Just finished watching ultimate cut and :pimp:

This is the movie we needed from the beginning. WB better learn from the reaction to this cut and the box office results from the original.

Would this cut gotten them 1 billion? At this point that has to be eating WB up right now

cant wait. two more weeks

they should have included a suicide squad trailer or behind the scenes in the blu ray release

Can anyone detail why Lex is such a compelling villain in the comics?

Is it because he's always one step ahead and is really smart?

It's because he'd be Superman if it weren't for Superman.

He's a man of genius, a cunning businessman, CEO, at the pinnacle of human achievement, and here's this guy flying around in a red cape that makes his accolades look nil by comparison..

He hates the idea of an alien being better than him by virtue of the fact that he's human and Superman is not.

In his mind, he believes that without Superman he could have changed the world, but the great thing about All-Star Superman was how Supes finally called Lex on his BS, when he tells Lex that if it really mattered to him, he could saved the world a long time ago.

All-Star Superman really did a great job of deconstructing Lex and Supes and then reconstructing them

BvS Lex character-wise lacks that compelling element IMO but I believe certain things about the character were done remarkable well for three reasons:

1. He is the "mad scientist" he was originally conceived as in the comics before all the businessman stuff

2. He's a misotheist, which is the core tenet of any Lex Luthor

3. His business ventures were updated for the modern age. LexCorp has always been different depending on the decade the comic was written in. For him to be an Internet Zuckerberg guy is completely fitting.

Jesse Eisenberg Lex is absolute trash tho.
Trash might be a little harsh. But I get the gripes about his character. My thinking is that his character will evolve as the DCEU moves on. I think possibly in SS and JL we will see less of the quirky lex and more of the series lex

I think Geoff Johns knows not to have Lex go further down the insane route.

Since he's aware of the threat of Apokolips it would be ideal if they focused more on his genius and made him reluctantly have to assist the JL, coming up with the scheme that saves the day
