DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

they never really showed doomsday to be able to fly, he just super jumped like the hulk

if superman was flying him out into space where he could have probably punted him to mars or something, why the hell did the military waste a nuke to shoot him back down to earth?

They needed show some dead superman porn.

Batman vs Superman is basically a Superman snuff film. :x

Yep, same ones from the MOS thread, wait til Zik actually sees the film when he's done giving opinions the last couple days without even watchin it yet. Then the trio will be complete and they can destroy scene after scene and come up with stupid *** why this, why that's like you can do for every movie in history.

I've seen this thread before. :rolleyes

No good movies don't have these problems.

Don't make excuses for sloppy storytelling.

Again; everyone wants it to be good. I spent 17 bucks on it, I think I have the right to criticize.

You loved Mad Max, yes?

Great video. Now, if I may...
Following MoS: Superman beats Zod BUT The tear up a mess of buildings in downtown Metropolis in the process including Wayne Financial's HQ THEREFORE The world is now weary of Superman's god-like abilities and Bruce Wayne is royally pissed at Supes and his fellow Kryptonians for killing a slew of his employees and friends (even if accidentally) THEREFORE Bruce decides he needs to put Supes in check BUT Fellow mega-billionaire and confirmed psychopath Lex Luthor also wants to put Supes in check because he wants to hold Earth's power himself THEREFORE He decides to set a trap for Supes in the desert ising Lois as bait BUT He doesn't realize his russian lackey is being tracked by Batman and one of his troop's experimetal proprietary bullets hits Lois notebook and she finds it... .... And so on and so on. It works when you put it in context of the movie. Or rather, the movie works when you put it context of the plot device Matt & Trey outline. Was there A LOT of stuff put forward in this movie - hell yeah. But I applaud Snyder & Goyer for trusting audiences to be able to keep up, as opposed to the Marvel movies which use the EXACT same formula but in it's most absolute dumbed-down distillation (and in daylight rather than at night): - I'm a good guy - No, I'M a good guy - Hey look, there's the real bad guy - Good guys beat bad guy - Good guys form/join/add-to good-guy team - Next movie comes in 6-8 mos.

The biggest crime of this film is that Superman's death had zero emotional impact. When the greatest superhero of all time dies, you should feel some emotion, but I didn't care at all. How do you go from an origin story in the first film, to his death in the second? They're not even giving the audience an opportunity to ingratiate themselves to the character. They needed to give Superman a legit sequel so that he could shine.

Usually I would give credit to a studio for making such a ballsy move, but this was just a shameful decision.

Also is it just me or Pa Kent just babbling incoherent garbage in his dream sequence?

UGH, Pa Kent spent his life teaching his son that he should hide, not help anyone and be afraid of humanity. :x

It would be like Uncle Ben whispering to Peter Parker right before his death "**** responsibility."

what was he trying to accomplish in running to his building?

if he was in such a rush to get to his building, why did he land the helicopter at the water and drive halfway through the city?

Come on now, you could at least come up with something better to nitpick on.

In MoS, the air was full of jets flying around in high-speed plus jets were getting sucked up and down and destroyed because of the world engine, obviously the helicopter can't just go flying into Metropolis.

It's like you guys aren't even trying to bring this movie down to the dumps. I mean really, ya'll gon' nitpick this scene for scene and just going to want your alternative version?

Doomsday could fly, he followed Batman and was hovering while shooting his heat vision.

mad max is a perfectly executed simple story that delivers on exactly what it sets out to do.

everything in the story relates back to the central plot of the movie

character motivations are simple and easy to understand

action was brilliantly shot and well directed

the pacing was consistent throughout the run time

the editing was pretty much perfect

Was that a Easter egg for Man-Bat?

Yea. There was no emotional impact to Supes dying. As someone mentioned. Cap is a boring character himself and with way less powers, of course, but if he were to die in CW you can feel the impact and the whole MCU could feel it. With Supes it was like "really? This is barely the 2nd film" we haven't had a time to invest with him.

i have come up with a bunch of things better to nitpick on.

this is like the 105th thing about this mess that doesnt make any sense

what was the point of bruce running into the city like that? to save a little girl that had no idea would even be there?

s rather than putting up an actual argument it just shows you have nothing to say

I still can't get over the fact that metropolis is across the bay from Gotham
This! then they had the nerve to allude to how crime riddled Gotham is. What the **** is Superman doing? "nah that ain't my city b" Then he goes after the only real thing trying to combat the crime in that city.
there were multiple armoured vehicles carrying something probably illegal and dude was like nope, sorry batman I'm not going to let you catch the bad guys tonight

He tried to save the people in his building, I mean I know your schtick, your the guy who picks everything apart like , "why is Flash not stepping 5 inches to the right, then every problem is solved" type off criticism. But this particular complaint has little effort, come on.

I mean is this really what DC threads has come to, just pick apart every scene? You really can't come up with an answer to those questions yourself? You can't even use your imagination on why someone would do such a thing?

This is getting epically ridiculous, at least come up with complaints that makes sense.

No, it shows that I'm laughing at you coming up with all these stupid *** questions for a movie you probably slept thru, but character motivations in the search for H2O were simple and easy to understand.

You asked how Lex could know Batman would be able to defeat Supes earlier. Batman literally stole the Kryptonite from his warehouse, Lex walked in and saw it was gone, with a bat left behind. But you somehow don't grasp how he would think Batman might have a win to win that battle? It wasn't simple enough for you, like driving a hundred miles away from the place you're looking for, with strangers?

I forget, haven't seen the film in a while? But was there kryptonite in MOS?

If not, wouldn't Supes be curious as to what is weaking him? And want to study where it came from?

So you enjoyed Star Trek, the search for water, that was in the place they started to begin with, after they crossed and then recrossed the whole desert for two hours?

Good movies don't got problems like that tho, right?

They make a decision to turn around that

a) satisfied Max's emotional arc = his growing connection to the group of women
b) complies with the logic of the world, in going into the unknown is riskier that staying and fighting.
c) satisfies the overall central feminst theme having the man realize that he has to be an active partner in the fight against patriarchy.

This.

Having Gotham and Metropolis across from each other creates so many danm problems. It was clearly done as a cheap fix in a poorly written script.

They didn't consider the ramifications.
