DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

I forget, haven't seen the film in a while? But was there kryptonite in MOS?

If not, wouldn't Supes be curious as to what is wreaking him? And want to study where it came from?

No, there was none.

Lex and his team found out about it from the shard, and studied it with Zod's dead body.

Was that a Easter egg for Man-Bat?

Yea. There was no emotional impact to Supes dying. As someone mentioned. Cap is a boring character himself and with way less powers, of course, but if he were to die in CW you can feel the impact and the whole MCU could feel it. With Supes it was like "really? This is barely the 2nd film" we haven't had a time to invest with him.

Honestly I couldn't care less if Cap dies in Civil War at this point. The dude is the dishwater of the Avengers (DULLLLL....), and needed help to accomplish everything since WWII. And this is coming from someone who LOVES CapAm:1st Av.

Meanwhile, Superman single-handedly publicly saved the world from an alien invasion (didn't need his buddies for it), was unfairly shamed as a threat, brought together two other heroes to stop a second global threat (and third counting Lex), and died in doing so. Yeah... I feel more for Supes.

if he designed this monster specifically to be able to kill superman, why did he put so much effort into setting up a batman v superman fight?

if he put so much effort into setting up a batman v superman fight why did he let the fight happen in the middle of nowhere and not even bother watching?

I think he created Doomsday because he expected Superman to kill Batman. He knew that Kryptonite could harm Superman, but he had no idea that Batman would use it the way he did (i.e. the mist). Doomsday was his insurance policy, which he only activated after he realized that Batman failed.

One thing that doesn't make much sense to me the more I think about it is how Lex discovered the secret identity of both Superman and Batman. And if he did know all along, then why we he allow Batman to steal the Lexcorp data.

So you enjoyed Star Trek, the search for water, that was in the place they started to begin with, after they crossed and then recrossed the whole desert for two hours?

Good movies don't got problems like that tho, right?

They make a decision to turn around that

a) satisfied Max's emotional arc = his growing connection to the group of women
b) complies with the logic of the world, in going into the unknown is riskier that staying and fighting.
c) satisfies the overall central feminst theme having the man realize that he has to be an active partner in the fight against patriarchy.

He tried to save the people in his building, I mean I know your schtick, your the guy who picks everything apart like , "why is Flash not stepping 5 inches to the right, then every problem is solved" type off criticism. But this particular complaint has little effort, come on.

No way these are BASIC logic problems.

not "if we take the character to its logical extreme there would be no story" problems

mad max is a perfectly executed simple story that delivers on exactly what it sets out to do.

everything in the story relates back to the central plot of the movie

character motivations are simple and easy to understand

action was brilliantly shot and well directed

the pacing was consistent throughout the run time

the editing was pretty much perfect

s rather than putting up an actual argument it just shows you have nothing to say
No, it shows that I'm laughing at you coming up with all these stupid *** questions for a movie you probably slept thru, but character motivations in the search for H2O were simple and easy to understand.

You asked how Lex could know Batman would be able to defeat Supes earlier. Batman literally stole the Kryptonite from his warehouse, Lex walked in and saw it was gone, with a bat left behind. But you somehow don't grasp how he would think Batman might have a win to win that battle? It wasn't simple enough for you, like driving a hundred miles away from the place you're looking for, with strangers?

how would lex be sure that batman could kill superman even with kryptonite?

he doesnt know that kryptonite makes superman weak, only that it can destroy his cells. superman could have easily killed batman in .1 seconds if he really wanted to

how does that play into his plan of creating doomsday? if his plan was to let batman kill superman, what's the point of doomsday?

1999 george lucas would have made a more coherent movie than this trash

You guys realize you are the minority right?

You guys can cape of for Snyder if you want to, but understand you taking up arms against ******* roiling sea of troubles.

No, there was none.

Lex and his team found out about it from the shard, and studied it with Zod's dead body.

In MoS I actually noticed the chunks of Krypton (the exploded planet) bust out from hyperspace from the Phantom Zone alongside the ships entering Earth's orbit, which is where I think the Kryptonite came from.

Destroying his cells = kills Superman, especially when Batman seems to have shown a willingness to kill "threats" recently.

Why do you assume Doomsday is only for Superman? :nerd: He seems to believe there are more threats out there, ie, Meta Humans. Hot chicks 100 years old, etc. He could easily be wanting to use Doomsday for whatever else came, after Superman.

This is hard to grasp?

I meant moreso on Earth in MOS. Obviously there would be some out there somewhere in the galaxy but the film never alluded to any as a thread on Earth, etc. Which is what I think he was asking.

damn going to have to reduce my rating to like a 3.5/8

literally every scene I think about comes with a bunch of things that dont make any sense

Yo this movie had plot holes so bad that you caught them as you were watching like:

"what? So people believe Superman was using guns and shot a bunch of people",
"Ok Lex, I'll kill Batman so my mom can live".
"Did they mix up the characters on the script? Now Superman is mad at Batman for the same thing that Batman was mad about?"
"why is Lois Lane standing so close to the edge?"

what exactly was his plan to "use" doomsday?

literally the first thing doomsday did was try to kill lex

Wait you can complained and moaned because you paid $17 for a movie you hate but we can't defend for a movie we like because you disagree?

What I don't get is why you're trying to convince those who liked the film to dislike them?

We get it, you hate it , everything about it, you've complained and complained a lot so why not just move on?

Why can't you just let people like what they like even if they are in the minority?

Who cares what the majority and minority say? But judging by RT's 74% audience score, nah bruh, we're pretty damn well in the majority of liking the movie. It's just that people who don't like the movie ironically seem to like complaining about it an awful lot.

its months later. man and like an 2 hours ago in real time, I'm sorry that doesn't hold weight.

Thats not enough of a reason for a blood fued, that a simple explanation of the situation by Clark shouldn't solve.
This dude has been holding a grudge against criminals for 30+ years. You really think he'll be fine after a few months?

It's Batman v. Superman, it's going to have a good audience score, just like Star Wars prequels had great audience scores. This is a movie that if executed well, could have done over a Billion at the box office but probably won't come close.

THIS is how Superman is supposed to respond to impossible odds, up against uncountable evil.

With the audacity of hope.

Not "oh well Lex you win, I guess I will kill Batman".

all it would have took was a 30 second conversation and the fight would have never happened
