Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Siemian has an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder. An MRI will be performed on Monday.

According to another source, it won’t be a surprise if Siemian misses a game, maybe two, as the shoulder heals.

So doesn't sound too bad but it wouldn't be surprising if he takes a week or two to rest. The MRI today could show something worse, I would guess, but it's probably just a precautionary thing.
 
Lynch should be able to hold it down at least on Sunday until he gets back.

"Our plans moving forward are for Trevor to be there Sunday," Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak said Monday morning.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Quarterback Trevor Siemian is "day-to-day" with the left shoulder injury he suffered Sunday, Head Coach Gary Kubiak told Denver Sports 760 in a Monday morning interview.

"Our plans moving forward are for Trevor to be there Sunday (against the Falcons) and be ready to go, but he's day to day," Kubiak said.

Siemian said Sunday night after the game that he would be "ready to play" next Sunday. He could have returned to Sunday's game if needed, but Kubiak opted to keep him on the sideline.

"I think I’m just going to take it one day at a time and see what (Head Athletic Trainer Steve Antonopulos) says [Monday]," Siemian said Sunday night.

Kubiak added that it would be possible for Siemian to sit out the bulk of the repetitions in practice this week and still be able to play against Atlanta. During the third week of the preseason, Siemian started against the Rams despite not throwing at all in the practice four days earlier and being eased back into work after that following a right shoulder injury he suffered in the previous game against the 49ers.

Siemian left the game late in the second quarter after being slammed to the ground on a sack by Tampa Bay's Clinton McDonald. Rookie Paxton Lynch entered the game and went 14-of-24 for 170 yards, leading three scoring drives, including one that ended in his first career touchdown pass, a 5-yarder to Emmanuel Sanders.

"Pax went in there and handled himself well," Kubiak said. "I thought the players really helped him."

Kubiak is expected to address Siemian's injury and Paxton Lynch's performance further when he meets with media for his afternoon press conference at 1 p.m. MDT. The press conference will be streamed live on DenverBroncos.com.
 
I just want to prove all the doubters and critics wrong that we are still elite without a hall of famer qb. Lets go BRONCOS!
 
I love how the squad is still hungry. I hope the media doubts them all year. That Madden rating was truly a joke like we all said.

Can't leave these fellas out of the top spot anymore. Seeing how the Patriots got blown out at home with a backup QB while the Broncos comfortably won on the road with their No. 2, putting Gary Kubiak's squad at the top spot in the rankings makes complete sense. At the quarter mark, Denver has proven that the ancillary (non-QB) parts are premium -- SEE: entire defense, C.J. Anderson, special teams -- so any deficiency under center is mitigated, even when compared to the top teams in the league. Kubiak called Trevor Siemian (sprained non-throwing shoulder) "day to day" on Monday. If he can't go in Sunday's game against the potent Falcons, will Paxton Lynch be a downgrade? Who knows? But the kid sure does trust his arm.

Great video....to me, seeing the Broncos beat them twice in a row (Super Bowl and Week 1), I feel like their spirit is broke and people know how to play them.....smash mouth style.

Paxton starting. I'm not mad at it, rest up Trevor. Let's hope our defense doesn't let Matty turn this into a shootout with the rookie. I want Julio under 100 yards
 
The offense needs to play well because Julio and Ryan are in a groove.
 
I'm not able to watch this game. I didn't think they had a defense like that. I figured we could do better than 3 points.
 
I never doubted Trevor was our quarterback. I just thought we were blessed to have two over achieving young quarterbacks. Looking back that was naive. Get well Trevor

But I say all that to say we would have lost today with Trevor too. Our O Line was hobbled and was getting pummeled, nothing was happening on the ground, DT dropped what would have been a big game, not enough pressure on the quarterback.

But that's a 1 in 5 game phenomenon. So let's just hope it was a fluke and we bounce back Thursday. Let's not give SD a chance to **** themselves in the 4th. Let's make this a boring blowout.
