***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

There was a big article in the Globe today about trading for Revis and how it is VERY do-able from a cap stand point. Something about designating one of the salaries for these upcoming years as a guaranteed bonus or some **** like that? Not really sure, read it first thing this morning but either way, BB should make this happen.

Revis is the type of player that catapults you from the CCG to the SB. Talib isn't.

latest news is that we are EXTREMELY close to re-signing Talib, and that we've intensified contract negotiations with Edelman with a deal possibly by end of day tonight.

would Talib re-signing kill the Revis talk? if not, oh boy. that would be huge.

I was just about to post about that I think this pretty much deads the Revis talk

I wonder what the number/years look like for Talib with the market being so high for CB's this year

i wonder if we're looking at Lamar Woodley at all. he was pretty solid until running into some injury issues. i don't think he'd hurt us...would be a nice addition IMO if the price is right. in free agency, all i'm looking at is defense and OL. offensive skill players is tough. would be fine addressing that in the draft (TE obviously).

if we can snatch up talib they should look at corner in the mid rounds for depth because

ive just about had it ...this guy gets injured at the most crucial parts of the season

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Source: Aaron Dobson had foot surgery today, will take 2-3 months to recover.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Pats/Dobson hoped the stress fracture would heal on its own, which is why they waited until today for the surgery.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Worst-case scenario, a 3-month recovery timetable puts Dobson in jeopardy of missing the entire offseason program, through June minicamp.

RT @RapSheet: #Patriots offered Julian Edelman 3-year deal, per source. Would like answer by the start of free agency. They want to keep him

Hope the Edelman deal gets done especially with Dobson more than likely his first NFL offseason

Even with the Talib talk some are still throwing around the Patriots name w/ Revis

Adam Schefter tweeted this earlier

Two teams to watch on CB Darrelle Revis once Tampa releases him: Philadelphia and New England (Jets fans shudder).

:nerd: :nerd:

I wonder if they're just trying to push the Talib talks along

Please sign Revis. Somehow, someway, just make that **** happen.

Talib owes every penny of that 26mill to BB and the Pats. Took dude on, provided him an environment in which he could thrive, and then he leaves for the enemy :smh:

26 million though? Cant say i blame him. Thats a bad move by the Broncos IMO.
Looking forward to seeing Talib miss half the season.

agrree with all.. except that he wasnt really a true "patriot" so this doesnt hurt as much for him going to the broncos

Jason La Canfora saying Revis wants to be here and it will only take a 5th round pick to do it :nerd: :nerd:

God damn outta all ******* teams :smh:

I mean that amount of money is ridiculous but I did not want him going there

sorry boys, been on a break per say from NT but def not from my second fam aka The Pats

breaks my heart to return in the thread after hearing the news of Talib officially leaving

according to A. Schefter 6 year deal $57 million to the BRONCOS...............F that organization, if i could even hate them even more!

wait......it gets better. looks like Broncos are also going after Ware! All my nice flowing locks gonna be gone at this pace

i posted this image which was floating around when jets were shopping Revis and i know everyone has seen it, but now more than ever it has to happen

initial reactions to Edelman becoming unrestricted and Talib leaving are anger and frustration , but we all need to be patient and trust the organization . Pats have a track record of making the smart, educated move that is better for the org in the long run . Talib cant stay healthy and isnt worth 26 guaranteed . a move like this shows the fear/respect the Broncos have for us

i know a lot of people look at last year and complained about the Pats not getting Brady enough pieces , but if not for Hernandez being a **** boy and all the injuries, we would have been looking at Hernandez , Gronk , Edelman , Amendola , Vereen , Ridley and Blount

I don't think Denver is worried about the AFC honestly, they are looking at SB opponents only IMO. Could be a mistake, but honestly who else besides the Pats can challenge?
