***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

Yea he really loves his guys on defense to be comfortable playing at least one other position . I liked some of the DLine and OLine picks but as you mentioned,I was a little surprised and dissapointed that more focus wasn't put on the secondary outside of 1 corner later and the safety in the 2nd that most pple had going really late  :smh:.

I guess he must have a plan but I'm a little anxious about our swiss cheese secondary as it is :x. The DL and LB cores are gonna be fierce though :pimp: :pimp:. Theres depth all around in the front 7 :smokin.

I do wish that they would've drafted another WR or RB from this year's deep classes instead of another TE and LS but I'm sure they can find some good value in UDFA's.

at this point, i think we have to trust that none of the CBs that bill passed on at the end of round 2 and onwards could have helped us more than what we've got. and that bill has some plan. as much as he neglected the secondary, he went heavy up front. so let's see what comes of it.

lot of good quotes....

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Easley is gonna play everywhere. The league is gonna know his name real soon.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Flowers isn't much of a pass rusher. Grissom could be more of an Ayers I think.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
He has worked like crazy this offseason. This year will define his career. twitter.com/morgan_TheDK/s…

@jeffphowe What happened to Dobson? and what will happen to him? High hope on him coming out

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Belichick said Shaq has to learn how to be a pass blocker, but he sounds terrific in the run game

on starting...
Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Brown and Jackson will start. Grissom will be in the rotation. Flowers on the 46. Wells on special teams.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
I should have mentioned Richards will have a big role on special teams, too. Not sure about his defensive role.

After taking in all of the new additions and thinking about it,I'm truly happy that both lines are now strengths of the team :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:.

A solid DLine takes so much more pressure off of the secondary and the last few years before Revis and BB, the reason the secondary was always getting torn up was because of a weak pass rush and inconsistent play from the DLine. Now this is a very deep group and I actually believe that this is a better secondary than the last ranked unit that got to the SB  :x.

On the OLine,if Tre and Shaq can improve in their pass blocking,am inside unit of Tre, Stork and Shaq would be great and probably open up some nice holes in the run game :smokin.

After years of mostly getting dominated down in the trenches, this team is finally built to match anyone in the league down low :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:.

totally forgot that we signed Jabaal Sheard earlier this offseason as well. the front seven is going to be SERIOUS, man :pimp:

Ninko, Sheard, Jones, Siliga, Branch, Brown, Easley, Chandler, Hightower, Mayo, Collins. :x :x :pimp: :pimp:

*Yea definitely not down for the Madden curse especially with Gronks history

Alfonzo Dennard released. Not sure what happened there but hopefully these new acquisitions can step up. Maybe Butler can pan out to become something, otherwise that front 7 will have to dominate.

Projected CBs:
Malcolm Butler
Bradley Fletcher
Kyle Arrington
Logan Ryan
Robert McClain
Chimdi Chekwa
Justin Green
Dax Swanson
Darryl Roberts

Damn Fonzie,we hardly got to know ya :smh:. I don't understand the move at all ,we're already super thin at that position and we get rid of one of the more experienced corners on the squad? The secondary struggle will be real :x

Looks like we'll be seeing more of Logan getting that *** burned this year [emoji]128514[/emoji]

jeff howe pointed out the logan ryan played his best football when he got consistent PT. that obviously didn't happen when you roll out revis and browner. so let's see if he can do work as a starter. i've got my doubts, but start praying

Now I'm wishing they picked another corner during the draft. I'm reading good things about Darryl Roberts and his athleticism but another corner would've been pretty helpful especially when someone like Ifo was available late :smh:

Sad how Fonzie dropped off. I loved dude at Nebraska and he had a solid year in 2012 *tries to blank out the theory of our DB coach ruining everybody* :smh:

Bruh that corner list IS depressing. The only person on that list of trash I'm not worried about is Arrington, as long as he's in the slot . As much as I hated him early on I enjoy watching him work in the slot, IMO he's one of the better slot corners in the league.

I don't even know what to say about Logan Ryan. The verdict is still out, he has really good ball skills but he looked complete trash in man coverage last year.

Fletcher was absolutely cringeworthy at times last year as well (dat Packers game :x) but he was pretty solid early on in his career, maybe it was a coaching/scheme type deal.

I'm still confused on that Jordan Richards pick. I wonder if we don't go back to more of a 2 safety approach like we had in previous years where out 2 safeties were pretty much indistinguishable from each other ala Steve Gregrory. Rather than a SS and FS we pretty much just had "2 safeties". I know Richards played both Strong and Free at Stanford. Chung was surprisingly decent in the slot last year but role wise he benefitted a lot from having Revis/Browner out there so I can see them not counting on that being a repeat performance.

That front 7 tho :x :pimp:

was reading that as much of a reach as that pick was, Richards is ten times the player that Tavon Wilson is (who we also reached on a couple years back :smh: ). One scout was saying that he had at least seen film on Richards, where as he had never even heard of Wilson. Wilson wasn't great, but he did contribute in more than just a special teams role. So we might see some decent work from Richards.

"More probable than not."

How long did it take to come to that conclusion?

hilarious seeing all the people on this board cream their pants over this. before this report, "pats probably cheated". after this report, "pats probably cheated'. still looking for the proof that balls were lower at halftime than at 2 hours before game time :nerd:

this whole thing is actually an indictment on the refs and the process of checking balls. anyone with a clear head can see that.

It really took all this time just to rehash some of the same info we knew beforehand?Damn  :smh:. So this basically clears BB's name. Now I'm waiting to hear the ridiculous justifications for why Tom should be punished for doing something other QB's have readily admitted to including the new golden boy AR .

In personnel related to news, it seems that all that sweet talking from Brandon Spikes worked and he's visiting the team today .
