***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

initial reactions to Edelman becoming unrestricted and Talib leaving are anger and frustration , but we all need to be patient and trust the organization . Pats have a track record of making the smart, educated move that is better for the org in the long run . Talib cant stay healthy and isnt worth 26 guaranteed . a move like this shows the fear/respect the Broncos have for us

i know a lot of people look at last year and complained about the Pats not getting Brady enough pieces , but if not for Hernandez being a **** boy and all the injuries, we would have been looking at Hernandez , Gronk , Edelman , Amendola , Vereen , Ridley and Blount

Good post. At the end of the day, the Patriots have been able to stay competitive because they dont throw money at every player who walks through the door (although the Hernandez signing was a disaster).

But still :smh: I was SURE Talib would be back. Should have franchised him .

I hope this is Peytons last year. Couldnt come sooner. Hate that ******* clown :smh:

I don't think Denver is worried about the AFC honestly, they are looking at SB opponents only IMO. Could be a mistake, but honestly who else besides the Pats can challenge?

not the AFC ; they are worried about us

and to be honest this move doesnt really help them against the NFC . their biggest issue is the defenses of the top dogs in the NFC and how they are kryptonite to Denvers offense . Talib being in that superbowl as a Bronco wouldn't have affected the slaughtering Denver experienced

I don't think Denver is addressing specifc needs to counter the NFC. I do think they realize the talent gap is larger than once thought and at ris point are just adding good players anywhere they can. If they lose by a FG last year I don't think thy see nearly this active. Feels like a act of desperation all due to the NFCs dominance. Just my view

you gotta remember a lot of the guys were injured they ended up playing with last year down the stretch. Especially guys on the O-Line (Center, Left tackle etc etc). I really don't think they needed to address anything more other than that secondary which they have immensely right now.

If anything they are more concerned about the Pats then the NFC even after that slaughtering in the SB

How you gonna come in here and say they're not worried about us

Trust me they are...let em keep signing our players tho

agree that we're making smart moves for the long run. but the window with brady is now. denver is operating that way with peyton in mind. we're literally showing ZERO urgency. that's my whole issue with how we're operating right now.

that said, i don't want talib for 6 years and that money. but let's act and make SOME type of move.

denver signs ward and talib. they're bringing in ware (rumored to be a done deal) and jon beason.

and we're bringing that list of "value" guys above that str8t posted. it's frustrating as hell. and if edelman signs elsewhere, i don't see how brady can't lose his ****. two years in a row his top target is allowed to walk.

if denver loads up on all this talent.......Kraft is a cheap bastard man.....Brady is close to retiring and you can't even open your wallet for his last few years

if Kraft ***** brady over like this I'm riding off into the sunset w/ Brady when he retires.....that's how disappointed I'll be

I think the past two years it was all about the pats for Denver. This year I feel the signings are not about taking away from the Pats but adding talent to compete with the NFC. It is simply an opinion and isn't a slight towards NE

If they dont get Revis :smh:

I'll be sick.

Like i said, im all for the system. It works. Im grateful for how the organization is run and how i always get to look forward to winning seasons and deep playoff runs. When Peyton retires, the Broncos will fizzle out. Talib will get hurt. Welker is a shell of himself etc. Its not like that in New England. Its about building depth and all that good stuff.

I need Revis though. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Any chances of pursuing Peppers,Allen or Spencer? Anything to beef up that pass rush. I'm hoping they at least make a play for Revis after losing Talib, definitely in need of a replacement and what better replacement for an all pro than another all pro . Go after DRC if it doesn't work out.

i would be surprised if we made a move for Revis and feel like it would end horribly (in terms of a couple years out)

IMO, do not let Ware sign in Denver. get him or drive the price up. one or the other. get DRC and/or Finnegan. to be entirely honest, the only player i'm pissed we didn't sign besides Edelman is Byrd. but it's time to make some moves.

Acquiring Revis would bring that defense to a whole new level. Greatness is contagious IMO. Im tired of our secondary being trash.

I'd think that a deal for him would vastly improve that defense with the solid young core already in place. Who better to teach that young secondary a thing or two than Revis? I hadn't thought about Finnegan, that could be a good fit but I'd probably prefer the other Cromartie over him. Was also a little salty that they didn't get involved in the safety sweepstakes.

Man if Denver signs Ware....:x :smh:.

I agree with DA it's frustrating seeing the front office unwillingness to break from the "value" mode. At the same time that's how we've been able to stay competitive year after year

12 is gonna be 37 this year tho :smh:

I hope we make a play at Emmanuel Sanders and/or DRC

Ware didn't waste any time.

:x

Broncos putting in work right now while the Patriots just sitting there masturbating :rolleyes

we have enough space and money to make a move like this. AND the cap goes up over the next couple of years. we just need to break from our traditional MO

Now were talkin RT @Nick_Underhill: Albert Breer said on TV that the Patriots are working on a Wilfork extension.

today?!??!?! we have to ******* do THAT today?!?!

bigger fish to fry...c'mon

EDIT: unless it's a move to free up $$$ for Revis...but like extending the Fork's old *** before we see how he is coming off injury is dumb. we have enough to get Revis without extending Fork
