***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

Man when Revis was tearing it up in a Jets uni, leading his squad to W's against the Pats in Foxboro, never in my wildest dreams did i picture him in a Patriots uniform

Bill letting Talib walk only to sign a CB who's 10x better is such typical diabolical BB it gives me goosebumps :wow:

Revis is the savior. No one outside us fans wants to give BB the credit he deserves for acquiring Revis. Personally i recognize what an epic signing that was and IMO it is the move that will FINALLY put us over the hump. Brady been dealing with a trash secondary for far too long. We just added the Babe Ruth of defensive backs as far as im concerned; very hyped.

Revis was BB's best acquisition in years...and also very un-Patriot like. It was absolutely necessary after Denver snatched Talib though. Over the course of the last 7 years, the Pats secondary failures have reared its ugly head in reg. season and playoff losses. It's about damn time Bill made it a point of emphasis this offseason.

The O-Line was already questionable going into the season and then Mankins gets dealt with no immediate replacement coming in.

Will they go with a committee at SS or does Bill have someone in mind as the permanent starter?

Gronk and Dobson are trying to ease their way back in after limited action in the preseason.

Will Jamie Collins make the leap?

Amendola. Enough said.

Can Vince beat the odds and return to old glory after an Achilles tear?

Ridley...fumbles. Vereen...health. James White...the jury is still out.

Dominique Easley is also on the "very limited preseason" list...how much will he be able to contribute in his rookie year after two ACL injuries in college?

Can Brandon Browner adjust to a new system after a 4 game suspension and how much will the NFL's crackdown on physical secondary play hurt him?

Tom Brady is 37 (

), and although he wasn't helped much by the instability and inexperience at WR in 2013, he was ultimately responsible for his weakest statistical season in a decade.

Everything isn't roses and daises. Even though this is arguably the most complete team we've had since the Superbowl years, there are still plenty of question marks. There is no sure thing in the NFL.

All that said...I expect to make the AFC Title game once again and we should have a better shot at reaching and winning a SB than last season or in 2011.

^ all fair points and a legit list of concerns. trying be as neutral as possible, i can't see all of those question marks getting answered negatively for us.

offensively with the skilled positions, i really have no concern. defensively right now we're good but it'll fall apart quick with an injury or two.

my three areas of concern at this point in time:

1) offensive line. you're right...we shipped off our best OL in most people's minds and really have no notable replacement. and definitely no replacement for the tough and nastiness factor that mankins brings to the table. that said, the return of what SHOULD be a decent pass catching TE is promising and worth the gamble IMO. i'm on board with the selling high propaganda we're being fed.
2) safety. we're going to be exposed here. no way around it. pass catching TEs and any big WR that lines up in slot...we're cooked. collins on those mismatch TEs is the only thing I can imagine. or browner, of course.
3) linebacker....really is no depth here. an injury to mayo would be catastrophic again

at this point, none of those areas are dire. one or two injuries changes that of course, but at this point, we're in a good spot to get back to and through that title game. this will be the best team we put on the field since 2007, even better IMO actually since the defense on that squad was fading fast.

cant wait for Sunday

was hoping to get more than a conditional 6th round in 2016 for Mallett , but it is what it is . glad we got rid of Boyce , dude just wasn't bringing much value to the roster . if Tyms plays anything like he did in preseason once his suspension is up :nerd:

im hoping Mayo and Hightower aren't too rusty on Sunday

jokingly, i would be on board with some form of the following versus lower end teams and/or for once we lock down a playoff spot:

1) sit him
2) redzone snaps only

they'll never shut him down completely. but they need to be smart and limit snaps early on while he gets back into the swing of things. both him AND brady need to be smart with routes taking him across the middle or up the seam...no throws that'll get him clocked.

in all reality of course, can you really play the game this way?? no. it's all or nothing IMO (once he gets into game shape - 4 or 5 games in). let him go wild. the only thing i would be careful about are those seam routes and routes that take him right into a S.

Yea I'd hope that they'd take some precaution to ease him back in to the offense slowly and cautiously for the first few weeks.

You always hear people piling on about the Pats having an easy division to explain their win totals but actually, their win % against the rest of the league since 2001 is 72.5% (87-33). That's just around 6 percentage points lower than their division record at 78.2% (61-17)... :smokin

seriously...people act as if we're getting rolled most games we play outside of the division

Easley, Dobson, Mayo and Hightower were not even listed on the injury report, which is a great sign for their availability Sunday.

Pats practice report: Buchanan (ankle), Gronk (knee), Chris Jones (ankle), Siliga (hand) all limited.

Coaching staff has liked what they've seen out of Tim Wright. Apparently he's a smart dude and is picking up the offense quick. Playing for New England, if you have the size and can grasp the playbook, you're good, because TB12 is going to find you

I have a feeling Wright has a good year. But maybe im getting Sudfeld-ed . We'll see soon enough :pimp:

I wonder if Easley is getting full reps on Sunday? Is he 100% good to go?

i think even if he's 100%, they'll ease him in similar to Gronk. i'm OK with that, we have depth at the moment to allow it

good stuff on Wright btw...hoping it translates to the field with 12

Dominique Easley is indeed traveling and will make his Patriots debut Sunday.

expect him to play only 5-10 snaps maybe, but exciting news regardless
