***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

whats this Bedard stuff you're talking about :nerd:

he's basically calling out Belichick (indirectly) for hiring an offensive line coach who has traditionally coached some of the worst lines in football. a guy who was doing sports talk radio last year. a guy that apparently doesn't have the respect and locker room in terms of our offensive linemen. he brought up the fact that one of OG's (Devey) was originally recruited to college to play....THE ******* TUBA rather than football. he didn't start playing football until the age of 23 or so. he then goes on to talk about how the issues our OL is showing are basic fundamental problems (staying too high, blowing basic assignments). all of which is forcing brady to either desperately hope Edelman gets open within 2 seconds. it's not providing brady with enough time to go through reads and progression. forget about deep balls cause there's not really time for guys outside to get open. and lastly, if things don't change, don't expect Brady to finish the season because he's going to get hurt.

that's what i recall of the top of my head. it was interesting stuff if you can listen to the podcast on iTunes for Felger and Mazz's show from yesterday. it was all in hour 1.

guys always blaming the line. i get it, but ia this why, our no huddle sucks? our two min drill will suck too.

interesting . thanks for sharing bruh

Bruschi touched on that technique thing in a chat recap after week 1 , saying that a lot of the problems are very correctable

i think it's why we haven't seen much of our up tempo offense. typically when we struggle, we come right out and go up tempo. haven't seen it. whether that's on the offensive line or receivers, not sure. but offensive line definitely not helping it

think DSK mentioned some stats on PFF....

Brady is constantly under pressure and has just 2.37 seconds (6th fastest time in the NFL) to get rid of the ball every time he drops back to pass before the pressure bears down, according to Pro Football Focus.

Brady is being pressured on 36.9 percent of his drop-backs (11th most in the NFL), and his offensive line is 31st in Pro Football Focus’ pass blocking efficiency score, which “measures pressure allowed on a per-snap basis with weighting toward sacks allowed.”

Hopefully we can show out on Monday night, this game is definitely going to be a tough one

BB needs to make all WRs active and throw the ball a lot, I don't think the running game will get it done with this defense

Vereen needs more of those swing passes, and we need to be more aggressive in playcalling

^ yup. starts with McDaniels (assuming the offensive line can at least come out and not look completely like ****). Josh needs to design some plays where we can get the ball out quick but at the same time offers us more than the typical WR screens. quick slants and pick plays (legal ones). Gronk really needs to get more work. and for the love of god, please use Shane Vereen. motion him out and get a LB on him.

Matt Cassel Patriots > this team

When Brady started spreading out the ball in the 2nd half on Sunday it opened up but then they all the sudden went back to forcing it to the big 2.

spreading the ball is definitely key...but you need to time to do that. offensive line breaking down leads to brady focusing on julian and gronk on those short routes to get rid of it quick

As someone who has always respected Tom Brady, I think it's a shame that he's basically being thrown to the wolves out there. It's sad to see, even as an outsider.

revamped OL tonight:

Solder-Connoly-Stork-Fleming-Vollmer

Cannon and Devey to the bench. this SHOULD be a better performing line, although 2 rookies is still a little concerning. but Devey definitely can't hang and Cannon struggled hard.

With both Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins inactive, once again highlights Patriots' struggles in drafting and/or developing WRs.

Bill why must you do this

Looks like we'll be running a lot considering James White is active tonight

These mother ******* better know what the **** they're doing. That's all I'm gonna say right now.

Is there really a question as to whether or not Bill knows what hes doing ?

There's obviously something happening that we know nothing about in regards to why Dobson and Thompkins aren't getting any burn

Tonight will tell us something

this is mind blowing...what the ****? we can start even one of them? not even ONE of them?!?!? SDVVBJDSBNDSFBLNSBS

good luck to us, bros

Reasoning behind it was because they're not getting open fast enough

but yet Amendola gets no love

Consider this guys

KC is top of the league in pass defense

Bottom of the league in run defense

LaFell is an excellent run blocker

Pats have #1 pass D

Theyre probably thinking that they should keep it on the ground, keep the ball away from KC's offense, and the defense will do the rest

i just don't want to get stuck running play after play even if we're only getting 3 yards a carry. and if we need to go hurry up at any point or if we go down a couple scores, want to be able to have WRs ready in the fold.

but i guess you can bump out vereen

either way, let's ******* do this. no ******* around tonight.
