***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

what a win today :pimp:

first off, our defense. amazing job today. talib put jimmy graham in the ******g corner. that's not even an exaggeration. he was DOMINANT. hopefully his injury isn't serious. in the final few minutes, two guys made HUGE plays. dennard broke up a play which would have ended the game, essentially. and chandler jones got just enough of brees to drop him and get us the ball back. defense made the saints look human today. great game.

offense. bunch of drops. bunch of missed throws. lot of blown blocks by the offensive line. but with the game on the line...EVERYONE executed and got it done. ridley ran it well and ran it hard. the rookies had a huge impact today. dobson continues to have the drops, but he had some big catches as well. thompkins silent ALL game until the final drive. edelman...WHAT.THE.****. were you thinking on that punt. thank god it didn't kill us. collie...we see you.

all around great effort and team win though. we'll see how bad the injuries to talib and mayo are. those could be back breakers if serious. amendola...don't expect him to contribute anything from here on out so whatever. he got ROCKED but i think we shouldn't really count on him for anything this year. reaffirms how tough wes was.

mayo, talib, and amendola...injury watch :nerd:

interesting item about gronk:

We all thought the Gronk story was over when the pregame shows finished filleting the man and his strange habit of practicing like an Olympian decathlete during the week and then sitting on the couch to watch the game, not play in it. But it turns out he had a very big role in this game, after all. Troy Aikman, early in the second quarter of the Saints-Patriots game on FOX, gave us a pretty big clue with the blanket coverage of Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib shutting out New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham to that point.

“You mentioned Rob Gronkowski and his situation,’’ Aikman said to partner Thom Brennaman, referring to Gronk’s being inactive for the sixth straight week with his mystery forearm injury. “One of the, I guess, positives that comes with that is he ran scout team all week. So the Patriots couldn’t have gotten a better look for having to face Jimmy Graham this week than what Rob Gronkowski showed them … When Bill Belichick decides he’s going to take [an opponent] out of the game, he does it as well as anybody. The key coming into this game for New England was trying to slow down and eliminate Jimmy Graham. That has happened.’’

As if on cue, the Saints snapped the ball two seconds later, with 12:44 left in the second quarter, and Graham ran a 10-yard cross on 3rd-and-10 from the Saints’ 23. Drew Brees fired it to him, with Talib in tight coverage. Graham had the ball in his hands, and Talib hammered it out. Incomplete.

I sensed Aikman was onto something, brilliant football mind that I am.

Brady confirmed it in his email.

“All of us have seen how badly Rob wants to help us win,’’ Brady wrote. “He has definitely given all he could in practice, especially on the scout teams to replicate the other teams’ best receiver. Though they may seem insignificant during the week, they are a huge reason why teams win.’’

gronk basically running on the scout team simulating jimmy graham all week long :pimp:

what a game . rollercoaster of emotions

Boston was ROCKING last night after the Pats and Red Sox Ws

can things get any worse with injuries ? Amendola , Talib , Connolly and Mayo all go down :smh:

talib and mayo injuries could be killer. legit worried about those two guys. talib with a hip flexor injury? mayo had an arm in a sling for a shoulder injury. our defense has been such a strength this year but without them, offense will REALLY need to pick it up. last year when talib went out, we fell apart defensively.

 i mean the man has shut down julio jones and jimmy graham ... if hes out for time our defense will certainly fall apart

fingers crossed the injuries arent too devastating

still waiting for this offense to start clicking . the drops issue is actually becoming sickening

my boy Edelman was straight *** yesterday :smh: :smh:

Great game. had my doubts after the interception but knew we would get another shot having 1 timeout and the 2min warning left. WHAT a sack by chandler jones. Pimp smacking the ankle of brees.

I hope talib injury isnt serious but this is the same exact way he hobbled off in the afc championship last year. does anyone recall any news on how he was after? i doubt there was much since we lost.

Also the armendola hit. am i trippin or was it helmet to helmet? the ref is standing right there, not sure how it wasnt called.

Defense is balling and hopefully the offense gets confidence from this. jets next week big game!

Patriots LB Jerod Mayo could miss rest of season after undergoing surgery for a torn pectoral muscle on Tuesday, Yahoo! Sports reported.

:x

:smh:

The football gods just dont want us to be great :smh:

But I'm confident in the hoody, he'll make a rag-tag defense outta bread crumbs...

we have a good linebacker core but jeez , talk about a tough break

yeah, man. mayo and wilfork are hearts of the defense at their two levels. unreal. collins MUST step up now. needs to start developing into an every down guy. coverage wise, we should get more from the position with collins. but the tackling reliability of mayo and leadership will be missed.

talib's injury better only be a 2-4 week job. praying he comes back after the bye week at the LATEST. if devin mccourty goes down, i give up.

word on gronk is two more games MAX. ****. it's time, man. get back out there. we need you.

it's a jets week. usually an entertaining week starting wednesday with player and coach pressers. never an easy game down in jersey.

just gotta worry about avoiding turnovers , if chandler gets pressure on

geno then i think its our game to lose

whats the word on vereen???

vereen is on track...not until after the bye week though. can't wait for him to get back.

was just going over it with a friend ; here are the players that are currently injured for the Pats

Amendola
Vareen
Gronkowski
Connolly
Wilfork
Talib
Kelly
Mayo
Slater

that's 8 starters (Vareen technically isn't one) and 5 pro bowlers ...
