***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

5 years 28 mil/10 guaranteed
Man idk about y'all but I'm not tryna go back to that ******** at all :smh:

It was fun as hell watching us go head up and shut receivers down with that press man :\
I agree thing is we haven't exactly excelled in that department. I'm sure I don't need to rattle off the names drafted in the BB era  :smh:

atrocious at drafting and growing good corners . only one in the past 15 years is Asante Samuel

I feel you guys, one can only hope they can find some success this year. Bush is supposedly set to visit the team along with the Saints since he left his meeting with the 9ers without a contract.

oh i agree but...

who can they possibly get at this point?

two of the biggest moves this free agency have been division rivals getting Revis and Suh.

i personally dont think theres enough offensive firepower in the AFC teams to warrant (that much) panic about DBs although it doesnt look good.

but the best way to combat that is to beef up the offensive if there are no DBs available at this point.

Bowe has a lot of speed and hes big. he could even be like what Hernandez was with Gronk.

Stills is available but we have enough undersized receivers.

I could see Bowe making a comback year in NE. he wont be greedy either, dude literally caugh 0 TDs last year.

on drafting corners...i think they actually come in and perform pretty well their rookie years. it's the 2nd and 3rd season where they start to suck. like you guys have said, once our coaching staff works with them, their game goes to hell somehow

It really does feel like they all ball out in their rookie years like D-Mac/Ryan and Dennard and that's where they peak as corners

. I'd hope they'd have more luck this year,I really thought that the days of having to sweat it on 3rd and 21 were long gone

Wilfork reportedly has 3 offers on the table from 3 different AFC teams, all for 2 yrs/$10 mil. I think they're saying Texans and Colts are 2 of the teams

Looking at Dmac's comments on Revis yesterday, According to him throughout the season he expressed he never wanted to leave NY in the first place so I think this dude was going to the Jets regardless unless we just blew the offers out of the water. Some dudes just like that big city allure.

Ever if it's not true that's what I'm gonna choose to believe

Looking at the cap we're currently just under 12.5 mil after the Amendola restructure. I think Harvin is gonna sign with the Bills and skip his other visits but Reggie Bush is supposed to be having a visit here. Haven't seen anything else about the potential Mathis trade.

we need some backend defenders, dudes. our defense is never going to get off the field next year

@RavensInsider: Scott Chandler isn't heading to the Ravens, likely to go to Patriots, according to a league source

Does the team really need another tight end?

Former Bills TE Scott Chandler is staying in AFC East, reaching agreement with Patriots, per league source. Patriots add some TE depth.

I was just about to ask if Wright got cut. Didn't he have like 7 tds last year?. Hoo-man's there too

I guess some Gronk insurance is never bad.

well this guy always KILLS us when we play the bills...so i guess the bills have no shot against us now

i see you, bill...sabotage

He always gets guys that play well against them ,ain't eem mad about another double agent :nerd:.

Even Sheard had success in the past.

I'm fine with the Chandler signing for the reasons already stated; Gronk insurance and just because he always played well against us

Not sure how this affects Wright or Hoo-man though.

I'm still interested to see what happens with the secondary; if we sign anyone else or if there's someone in the draft that could come in and contribute in nickel or dime packages right away.

Just like what we've gotten used to

I'm sure that defense will be the focus of the draft. If they can maybe trade for or add another FA or 2 to the front 7 and secondary,I'd think that they wouldn't be in too bad shape. It's not as if there's a shortage of talent on defense

So the Chandler addition must signal a switch back to power TE sets no?

It would make sense.

Is Miami legit now? Tannehill, Lamar Miller, Mike Wallace, Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills and Jordan Cameron and Suh anchoring that defense for 9 figures.

Miami honestly does look legit right now on both sides,if Tannehill makes that next step

. Still our division to lose but it's looking like it's finally gonna be a tight race throughout the season now. Should be fun

. At the end of the day they're still coached by Joe Philbin though so I'm not THAT worried
laugh.gif
. Talent wise they're right up there.
@AdamSchefter: Free agent RB Reggie Bush is visiting the Patriots today, per @FieldYates.
I like their thinking

Confused with this signing we already have a TE who isn't great in blocking (Wright).

I guess at least he isn't on the Bills anymore  :smh:

I'd like to see them make a run at a corner but there's not enough talent available that screams a must to me although I do like Tramon. Hopefully they have luck in the draft this time.

Still can't let go of how the whole DB situation played out.

IDC what anyone says, that was a botch job no matter how you look at it. It's too important of a position in today's NFL to just gloss over and patch up.

Your front 7 can only do so much...word to the 2014 Ravens.

I trust BB to come up with something and make it work, but that's to be expected. How do you reach that elite championship level once again though? That's the main question this offseason.

Recent history tells us loading up to out-score opponents is NOT the answer. Eventually you have to be capable of making stops...
