***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

bruhs...no words :pimp:

just got home. was out celebrating all night. man...unreal game. so glad i DVR'd it right before stepping out the door to head to the bar so i can enjoy this one again.

tom brady in that fourth quarter. god damn. lights ******* out. he's was just a killer. that was legendary stuff...literally. overcoming a 10 point deficit against arguably the greatest defense of all time is something else. clutch.

josh mcdaniels...liked the overall plan. but took him (or the OL coach) way too long to figure out how to get bennett blocked. once that was done, 12 went to work. whatever they did to make that adjustment...huge. will need to rewatch it to see exactly what they did.

jules, gronk, shane, dola, lafell...all these guys were tremendous. did a great job getting open all game. made the catches, made guys miss, and got every yard they could. great ******* game all around.

defense played really well. outside of a couple of those russell lobs, they did well. contained marshawn for the most part. when kearse made that catch on his back, i straight up dropped to a knee and said, "not ******* again! not again!" thankfully butler bailed us out. great play by the kid. jumped that route SO damn quick...he had to know they were going to his man. great ******* play.

soak this one in, fellas. we put the spygate ******** to bed with this one. happy for brady and bill to be able to do that.

ALL OF THIS. I've seen all of Tommy's exploits from 2001 on. This was the most satisfying win I've ever experienced as a Pats fan. :pimp:

lol. the NT peeps needed it more, especially for the discussions. definitely a historical anf meaningful one

“For him to do that — 8-for-8 on the final drive, right? — that’s as big as a moment gets,” Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said. “Obviously, he lives for that ****.”

Commemorative painting that I whipped up :pimp: i may add something else, but this is the gist of it.

Sick :pimp: :pimp:

Nice work :smokin

The win is just sinking in. 4x Super Bowl champs ? Ridiculous. As far as I can see, Brady looks as young as ever on the football field. Seeing him step up in the pocket this year and deliver the football/scramble for 1st downs was a thing of beauty.

Malcolm Butler is a legend in this city forever. Congratulations to him for capitalizing on a moment that he'll be able to recall proudly for the rest of his life. What a great play.

Man I still can't believe the win !!! Just ordered both championship tees from nike and got me 2 blankets

How about Amendola?

would be nice to keep him. he came on strong down the stretch and in the playoffs.

i think at this point for Brady...it's important to try and keep the receiving corp stable. he's got chemistry with all of them right now. all of them were needed to beat Seattle. would love to see no changes at WR and TE. unless it's adding another TE.

all that said, if he isn't back, would not be surprised. the money will have to be right.

This dude tried to troll in here w/ this...

Deflated In here ... still plenty of game left.

And left w/ his tail between his legs by the end of the night.

Great win NE.

Dodged another biblical play . kudos

We don't want your props **** boy. Talked all that slick **** just to see another recent failure. Heat getting crushed in the Finals, LBJ leaving your city, Dolphins w/ another mediocre season and retaining their mediocre *** head coach. At least the players ain't bullying each other any more though! Enjoy future mediocrity in all your sports and hold muh ****.

HOLD THAT **** BOY.

man thinking back on our defense down the stretch. was there a better 4th quarter defense than ours? i don't think we allowed a fourth quarter TD for like 8 weeks straight or something crazy like that. couple of donuts and mostly FGs. something like 12 points allowed in the 4th quarter in those last 8 or whatever games. pretty damn ******* good. came in handy last night as well.

Yeah DSA, that's pretty crazy to think about when you look back. A total of 12 points allowed in the 4th quarter since week 12; all of the points coming off of field goals; 5 games with 0 points allowed in the 4th quarter including the AFCCG and Super Bowl. I don't know how that stacks up with other teams, but that's pretty damb impressive.

Week 12: Lions - 3
Packers - 3
Chargers - 0
Dolphins - 0
Jets - 3
Bills - 0
Ravens - 3
Colts - 0
Seahawks - 0

Had to bask in all that glory of the win and let it all sink in all day on monday...

oh man. all year the pats talked about having the resiliency and the mental toughness... they showed it all year around. every time, they answered it when they had to.

it was there at the very beginning. miami stomped us in the 2nd half of the season opening. we bounced back with a solid all around effort @ minny. lackluster win vs oakland and then followed by the massacre at KC. that's when we all came together. BB gathered the team and said this is the guys we have in the locker room. this is the team. this is it, guys. we need to come together, something along of those lines. Herald posted an article basically said the only way to shut up the doubters/naysayers, is to WIN. just win, baby.

needless to say, they pretty much won near every game ever since from the KC debacle. completely different team. they all played for each other and you could see it. Everybody stepped up. All different kinds of guys stepped up at different points of the season. Brady played like his old self, gronk being gronk rumbling over guys, wright making a cameo apperance(s) and when he does, all he does is catch TDs
laugh.gif
,  edelman continuing to be a gamer and tough SOB, lafell gaining trust of brady and they both became money on the back shoulder pass, and the RB committee taking turns producing (ridley, blount, gray, vereen, bolden), james develin, the OL took lots of criticism but they were game when it counted the most (props, i see you dave deguliemo), oh yeah i almost forgot but not the least for the offense; danny amendola stepped his play up late in the season vs NYJ, and the playoffs. he deserves the praise. would like him to come back but like y'all said, no way he comes back at that salary.

For the ST, they more than did their job. All is expected of ST is to do their job and not eff up. But they went beyond that. They made bunches of game changing/saving plays throughout the year. can't say enough about everybody on the ST. gostkowski, allen, slater, edelman, chris jones (that block vs NYJ) wilfork, too, in that 2nd jets game. That's why BB has some of his starters play on ST.

As for the defense.... we wouldn't be this decent up in the front/front seven of bill didn't pick up branch and ayers and make some lowkey shrewd pickups in other areas as well.

Revis and Browner pick ups solified our secondary. we had some good players but we needed an alpha CB especially after talib left. Revis was that guy and i don't see how he isn't back next year especially after winning the SB. Browner was the physical CB we needed and his penalties comes with the territory but i'll take it. Shoring up the secondary had the domino effect on our team defensively. We don't really have a penetrating/pass rushing DL/DE outside of chandler jones so it was imperative that we had solid backend.

Air wilfork did his job especially how he usually takes on 2 guys (no homo) and closing up the gaps/clogging the running lanes which doesn't show up on stat line but he was GREAT especially coming back from that achilles injury. He gotta be back! not feeling DSA's predict that he retires.

The rest of the D-line did decent job. We need to shore that up if we wanna do the back to back... we need someone to take the focus off chandler jones.

I really like our LB corps. I can't say enough about Nink. He's basically vrabel w/o the receiving TDs part. Guy brings it and is a gamer and always seem to be around the ball/makes play. Once mayo went down, collins and hightower stepped up. impressive. Collins, he's a star in making if he keeps it up. he can do it all.

Hightower, I can't say enough about him. We all knew he was dealing with a bum shoulder. He really grew up this year taking on all of the duties (especially playcalling) and played thru the injury and still produced. couldn't be prouder for him. hope his surgery goes well and is ready to go for '15. I really liked Ayers when he played. He was money on the going after the quarterback late (not really a blitz, just a delayed rush) and doing the stunts. Maybe we'll see a bigger role for him next year. His PT decreased once chandler came back. rightfully so since chandler is more needed.

As for the rest of the secondary, resign D-mac! he does his job very well. kinda sneaky well, seriously, right? he doesn't have his name called much during the game not because he's not making plays but rather because he's doing HIS job and doesn't get exposed. Arrington, he had his moments. he's better suited in the slot, by far but he's a good piece in our secondary. Logan ryan, he got burned more than we'd like him to be but he did make seceral sweet plays. he's young. he has potential. flashes of it. idk about y'all but i see it from him. and of course pat chung. he did well. he's much better close to the LOS but he did decent coveragewise. definitely didn't live up to the second round expectations but he was respectable this season. props.

Again, lastly but not the least, our super bowl HERO, MALCOLM BUTLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

damn, man..... i can't say enough about him. my first impression of him earlier in the year was that he has the physical tools. he has good size. good looking player. now i understand the reason why he made the roster undrafted from the university of west alabama. the fahkkk? idk there was such a school, a D1 school at that.  if he's smart, he'll study revis closely and see what makes him so good and become a star in the making. or not, i dunno. but that was such a heads up play by him. he had to have caught that ball or seattle was gonna get couple more chances and was more likely gonna win it.

After that BS kearse catch which was the second coming of antonio freeman MNF catch
mean.gif
i was like, it cannot be. so this is it? we're gonna lose our 3rd SB based off another absurd catch? At that point i just started to accept the inevitable. Better that way. you know, expect the expected.

After the catch, i was telling dad that we should just let him get the TD so brady can have the time to march down the field for a FG or something. i had a glimmer of hope but it quickly shrunk after lynch gained 4 yds to the 1 yd line. i was like, ok, call the TO or something obviously if we aren't gonna let them score but at least give brady some time!!!

i was dumbfounded. pats didn't really panick and with them not calling the TO, seattle literally outsmarted themselves and the rest is history

Well said @NEPats617

That 2nd half defense really was something else this year
pimp.gif
. The crazy thing about the defense is how young a lot of key contributors are. I also remember DSK posting a stat saying that this team was the youngest superbowl winner in history with an average age of 25.2 which is mindblowing
eek.gif
. I fully expect this squad, barring major injuries and departures, to be right back there in the thick of the chase next season.

So much greatness in this pic

Tom Brady in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl: 13-15, 131 yards, 2 TDs.

He now holds the following Super Bowl records:

Most Career TDs: 13
Most Career Passes Completed: 164
Most Career Passing Yards: 1605
Most Passes Completed in a Game: 37

I know a lot of people don't care for stats and sometimes they can be misleading, but still, regardless of where you want to put Brady on the greatest of all time list, he has put in work on the biggest of stages :smokin
