***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

No prob @mikejs210

On the topic of injuries, they're a part of the game. Our squad was ravaged by injuries last season but no one really made any excuses for how the season ended. Even with those injures,Seattle was still a yard away from winning the SB so that excuse should be tossed out the window imo.

Just in case anyone was wondering, Air Wilfork is indeed coming back for next year

Are there any issues with his contract though or are we all good there

Most of the issues were ironed out last offseason during the negotiation saga so he seems good to go for the remainder of his contract as long as they pick up his option as expected

I'm ecstatic about all the young pieces all over the defense

. Not including our 1st rounder last year that ended up on IR that should be back and healthy. If they can continue adding more depth through the draft/free agency, they should be in good position to do the same thing next year and get #5

anyone go to the parade in boston?
*raises hand*

Still haven't fully recovered from Sunday...let alone the parade yesterday. Very fun & interesting experience, to say the least.

Haven't really been able to deposit my full thoughts in here, and I'd still like to take care of some unfinished business in the NFL thread. Who knows if I get around to it though.
Vince Wilfork’s horse wins a race in New Orleans on Thursday
A week that started in wonderful fashion for Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork has gotten a little sweeter.

Great Minds, a four-year horse owned by Wilfork, captured the eighth race at Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans on Thursday. It was the gelding’s first career win in nine tries.

In victory, Great Minds rallied in deep stretch, pulling away for a one-length win on a race contested on dirt.

The winner’s share of the purse is $22,200, raising Great Minds’ career earnings to $66,965. He had previously raced in New York, Florida and Kentucky before trying Louisiana on Thursday after a lay-off of nearly eight months.
Damn.

Even their race horses are winning.

There's one thing that I noticed regarding Pete Carroll after seeing the Inside the NFL and SoundFX episodes.

Some people mentioned that Carroll didn't make any adjustments in the second half, including changing anything they did with covering Gronk. On the Gronk TD in the 2nd quarter, Gronk and KJ Wright were lined up right in front of Carroll, Carroll knew Brady was going to Gronk and yet he was completely content with Wright in the match-up. I understand having confidence in your players, but to be honest, it was clear that Wright couldn't cover Gronk and it was right in front of Carroll's face.

I don't know if that's just a product of having confidence in your players and system or just being clueless. I mean yeah, the Seahawks were 1 play away from winning the game, but had the Seahawks made adjustments, maybe the Patriots don't score on those two 4th quarter drives.

I would say confidence.....Carroll has a lot of my respect so I can't say that it's him being clueless.

I would tend to agree based on how they play. Not sure if anyone can actually cover Gronk for that matter.
