***OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SEASON THREAD*** (13-4) - Patriots @ Broncos - Sun 3:05PM EST - Bra

i think if the secondary can stay healthy good things will come ,

maybe not elite but atleast stable enough to get through the season..

chandler jones has appearantly been showing out also so im excited about that too

aaron dobson is the wildcard , if he can be a mini moss i'll go to war with anyone with this roster

and a healthy gronkowski..amendola has had freak injuries before and he's been playing the 49ers and seahawks twice a year

so maybe he can produce...

if everythings works out we could be right back in the superbowl

and if it doesnt we could have dogfight with the dolphins

just to win the division....with that said ...LETS RUN IT

also this schedule is

start off with the bills and then a thursday game with the jets

which means a mini bye week and a week 10 bye week

if we can wrap up a first round bye week before the regular season

wraps up we can have a fresh bunch rolling into the playoff

which is a huge plus

^ good point on chandler. heard he added some muscle and is looking good. hope he takes that next step this year.

friday can't come soon enough

based on all accounts from today's joint practice with the eagles, you would never even know that TB12 has an entirely new group of receivers. amendola, dobson, thompkins, and sudfield all performed pretty well...with brady hitting 20 out of 20 in WR 1x1 drills versus eagle DBs. add in 7 on 7 drills and apparently the ball only hit the ground 3 times when brady was throwing...including 2 drops by WRs. the bad news is that our secondary apparently was getting torched by djax and cooper just the same

none of that means much being that it was just practice. but it's not bad to hear, at least for our offense. and based on TB12's press conference after practice, still a lot of work to do, so take all those reports with a rock of salt.

thats awesome to hear cause i think things should only get better when these

guy's start to get the playbook better , this offense is all about knowing the playbook and chemistry

not expecting to see much from 12 tonight. hoping he plays a drive or two. excited to see him work with amendola, dobson, and thompkins in live game action. also very interested in seeing Mallet. he needs to take that next step this year. has to be better getting the ball to receivers. he needs to stop relying solely on that cannon and develop his accuracy.

roster stock watch:

Buy: Brady, Amendola, Dobson, Thompkins, Fells, Develin, Sudfeld, Talib
Hold: Mallet, Ballard
Sell: Tebow (apparently has looked HORRENDOUS running our offense in the joint sessions with Philly. We'll see TONS of him tonight).

aaron dobson is gonna be fun to watch..

kinda want to see brady get a full quarter in early into the pre season just to get

some chemistry going early...but im assuming a few adjusments are probably

gonna be to the playbook and i doubt belichick wants to show his cards this early into the preseason

want to see what josh boyce does too

boyce apparently is a jet who's been running great routes in camp...but he's dropped a ton of balls. hopefully he can get it together.

sudfeld in the red zone :nerd:

sudfeld could find himself a endzone commodity

and maybe dane fletcher and jamie collins means the end one tight ends abusing

us on a weekly basis

Lets go preseason Brady playing like playoff Brady

Im actually excited to see tim Tebow go out there

1st half thoughts:

Ridley and the run game looking great. Opening drive was pretty impressive.
Brady gonna Brady.
Thompkins, Amendola, and Dobson all looked to be in sync with Brady.
The Dobson catch was pretty impressive. If you watch it again, he turns his head back toward Brady and the ball is right there in his face, and he still makes the catch.
Legarrette Blount's run
Sudfeld looks good from what I've seen. That one catch and run was nice. Blocking is on point as well. Got downfield to block for Blount nicely.
Mallet looks SLIGHTLY better than prior years, but still doesn't have the accuracy and touch. Still overthrowing guys and throwing balls behind receivers. Hopefully he's not hurt bad.
Defense looks very familiar to what we've seen last year. Not a lot of consistent pressure up front but enough to stall drives. Secondary getting beat but making enough plays to stall some drives.

Ready for Tebow time the rest of the way

most of y'all might already do so, but Greg Bedard on twitter is covering pats camp this week and a good guy to follow for football news and analysis. check him out. some of his thoughts from today:

- the offense definitely coming back down to earth against a better tampa defense. but still operating well overall.
- amendola looks to be 100% as uncoverable out of the slot as welker was
- thompkins looks to be the real deal
- dobson, despite a few drops, is the goods
- safety is a mess when mccourty moves to corner
- ridley looking good, blount not so much

Bedard was good when he covered the Packers... Not sure why he decided to go watch those clowns in Boston but yea hes cool.

Tweeted me back a bunch of times, seems to read through what fans are saying a lot.

pretty damn good showing last night...

- 1st team offense looked great. humming and picking up just where they left off last week
- brady to amendola looks good. i'm not a praying man, but i'll be praying for amendola to stay healthy every week
- sudfeld looks to be a short term solution for gronk. big target with pretty good hands. not as fast and athletic as gronk but few are. similar story too, gronk slipped in the draft because of injuries, this guy went undrafted because of injuries. could be a top steal of the 2013 draft
- mallet looked a lot better yesterday. still inaccurate on those shorter throws, but he had some nice connections as well. the TD pass to Sudfeld was a mirror job of TB12 throwing up the seam to TEs
- starting front 7 got tons of pressure of the QB. good to see
- a couple of the sacks seemed to be coverage sacks, so that was good to see from the secondary.
- chandler jones looks ready to go this year. just needs to stay healthy.
- eddo's dude collins had a solid game. he's going to get a lot of burn the next two weeks. keep it up
- logan ryan's pick six was nice...but was an AWFUL read by glennon

so some lady is suing us for 10 million dollars......

ridiculous. not to sound harsh...but there is no proving what caused your her husband's heart attack. maybe if you didn't wait three years to do this, we could get to the bottom of it. but 3 years later? yeah...go **** yourself

sorry...i just hate when people try and work the judicial system on this stuff. and it all starts with the blood sucking attorneys who probably thought this scheme up in the first place. someone's hurting for money...that's the real cause of this suit.

Woman sues Patriots, NFL for $10 million in husband's wrongful death
By Ryan Wilson | CBSSports.com
August 21, 2013 6:12 pm ET

Kimberly Chartier of Chicopee, Mass., has filed a civil suit against the New England Patriots and the NFL for the wrongful death of her husband during a 2010 Patriots game at Gillette Stadium, according to the Springfield Republican.

Chartier, who is suing on behalf of her son, Tedy, is seeking at least $10 million in damages. The suit alleges that the Patriots and the NFL are responsible for 40-year-old Jeffrey Chartier dying from cardiac arrest in front of Tedy, who was 6 years old at the time

There were reports that Chartier's death had been immediately preceded by an altercation with a stadium security guard. Arthur Sherman was identified in the lawsuit as that security guard.

The suit, filed in June, alleges: "Jeff Chartier died as a result of cardiac arrest that was precipitated by agitation and stress caused by an interaction with a security guard at Gillette Stadium who inappropriately and unnecessarily confronted Jeff Chartier and his son Tedy in a harsh, unprofessional, confrontational, disrespectful and antagonistic manner."

Specifically, according to the suit, two NFL game officials invited Tedy, who is named after former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi, onto the field before the game but Sherman confronted Jeffrey Chartier about Tedy's presence on the field. The confrontation lasted more than 15 minutes. Afterwards, Chartier went back to his seat and became unresponsive. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"We had a situation which in our view should have been easily resolved," George W. Marion, one of Chartier's lawyers, said. "It's a day that really started off with the excitement of a father bringing his 6-year-old son to an opening day."

Lawyers representing the NFL declined comment, saying an answer to the charges will be filed within the time period the court allows.

The Patriots held a moment of silence for Chartier before the next home game following his death, and, according to the Boston Globe, donated an autographed Tom Brady jersey for auction at a benefit for the family. Additionally, team owner Robert Kraft sent a letter of condolence to the family.

its such a ridiculous claim that i cant help to wonder why you wait until THIS offseason

to sue?

she probably felt if she asked for 10 million she can get maybe a 6 or 7 figure settlement

because of how we conduct the team and this being such a crazy offseason maybe they'd

offer something just to settle and not deal with the bad publicity....

i'd offer season tix and half of the kids tuition just becuase it happened in the stadium....

but 10 million is outrageous

^ agree 100%, man. you know she's going to get some crazy settlement out of this. i would love it if we just took this to court and forced her to rack up legal fees in trying to fight this.
