Creed (Film Series) | Creed III | 3/3/23

The camera work and production was awesome. Made it really seem like an HBO documentary

The scene early on where he was shadowboxing watching YT clips of Rocky vs. Appolo... fire :pimp:. The way the clip blended into his shadow (no pun intended) was an awesome shot.

Easily the best film i've seen all year. I don't think i ever got this excited in a theater before

I was ready to punch a hole in the seat in front of me during the dirt bike scene
this film basically saved Meek Mill's music for me

added his songs back to my workout playlist

Finally saw it...awesome *** movie..loved the camera shot from when they followed him from the locker room to the ring in the final fight..**** reminded me of Goodfellas when he was taking her into the restaurant.

Idk that scene didnt hit me like that, if he had more of a connection with the dirtbike kids it would have been better. But Im just nitpicking... at the end of the day, I LOVE this movie...
I felt the same. The dirtbikes following him during his road workout was cool but when they started doing circles around him I thought it was OD corny.

i cringed at that part...the run was cool. but at the end with rocky just staring out the window was corny as ****

it was great when all the kids followed rocky in support

its just not the same when its random street cats on bikes

The dirt bike kids did have a connection with him. Maybe you guys missed some subtle cues. The dirt bike kids were clearly always posted up outside of the gym he trained at. He's seen them every day for weeks.

On top of that the first time Adonis sees tbeing the son of Apollo Creed in a positive light was when one of the bike kids, who clearly was at the front driving next to him, says that's pretty cool that Donny is a Creed. You could see the relief in his face that perhaps it wasn't the huge burden he has always carried as.

That's how I read it too. The dirt bikes were a cool modern touch, those guys were always there watching him train, and that one kid did give Donnie a little bit of relief/pride to be a Creed.

I thought it was dope.. the slow motion part was a bit cheesy, but it was a good nod to the originals because that was super cheesy and silly but in an awesome kind of way. It was probably the best possible way they could have done the running scene in a modern way that fit within the story.

I would have been bummed if they had all the other Rocky references and moments, but didn't do the running scene.

No, I caught all of this. I just thought the shadowboxing while the dirtbikers were doing donuts was cheese. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of the movie.

Watched Creed earlier today. Amazing film, even more amazing that it continues the Rocky film series legacy in a modern setting. MBJ continues to wow, Sly stole the film and Tessa Thompson is just great eye candy. Took my shorty I'm messing with and to my amazement she's seen all the Rocky film's cause of her pops so it made me enjoy the film much more cause I was able to nerd out to all the subtle nods to the previous Rocky films and had someone right there nerding with me. Sequel is def happening, Ryan Coogler is def on Hollywood's big time radar now.

...Nike's presence in this film was just a tad bit overwhelming though

I aint read the whole thread but how are the fighting scenes.

Are they realistic and fluid or exaggerated and all over-the-place?

As a huge boxing fan, I will say that the fighting scenes were very realistic. Sure, there was wasn't enough defense and dudes blocked punches with their faces but it was way more realistic than the other Rocky movies.

That fight between the lion dude with all the tats was amazing. That one take had me like :wow:
