Who else wants to check this out! :wow: :pimp: In limited theaters 10 days ago, so it's out there for any of those interested (you just gotta work to find it).

One of Sundance's 2013 selections, and according to Live Science, "a prominent film critic already called it the scariest movie of the year."

Live Science:

Before getting into the science and the controversy, I'll make a prediction: "Blackfish" — the documentary that takes a critical look at SeaWorld's killer whales and premiered recently at Lincoln Center in New York — will win the Academy Award for best documentary. It's that good, and precisely the type of film that wins that award each year.

For those who go to see "Blackfish", which one prominent film critic has called the scariest movie of the year, be prepared. While it has calm neuroscientists and marine biologists talking about what science has taught us about orcas in captivity, it also has several intense, graphic and gut-wrenching depictions of incidents captured on video of killer whales attacking trainers.

looks awesome. thanks for posting.
when we're out on our boat fishing, sometimes we come across pods of false killer whales stationary in the water. they don't even move aside. as we cruise by, occasionally they'll make eye contact. it's the most bizarre feeling.

Dope. I would love to check it out. I grew up in the NW so I remember talkin' bout shamu a lot in elementary.

for all u bay area folks its playing in palo alto
after reading the thread title i came in expecting a legit scary movie :smh:

will watch whenever available

animals are not meant to be held captive, especially big ones that can destroy us in a quick second like whales, gorillas, sharks, bears, big cats. why cant we respect what they do and let them be free? its just not right.

QFT QFE. although i do believe in protective captivity for those animals that are hunted to the brink of extinction for no reason at all.
