Preachers Of LA: Preachers Living Lavishly [Reality TV Trailer]

I apologize if this is a stupid question but how  do they pay themselves? Like I understand that it comes from church donations but how do they determine how much they get to keep?

Most of them have side incomes that derive from Books they sell before and after service. Best seller type books. CD's, wives are singers etc.

TD Jakes has his own Movie Production company.

Plus I'm sure they take a more than moderate salary from the Church tithes.

Just imagine this, a Church of 20,000 members (Super Churches)

Most of those members give tithes 10% off their total income.

Lets just assume that 10,000 of those only pay monthly and they only pay $100

That is 1 Million dollars per month man.

The largest Church is in Texas called Lakewood, 45k members, Pastor just bought his 4th home I believe, a 10.5 Million dollar joint.

No Taxes- Balling

Quote taken from the creator of Scientology, L Ron. Hubbard

"You wanta make real money, you gotta start a religion"

Faith makes a man do strange things. When someone believes in something, you can't tell them it's not the way it is.

That's how they get people to give them money.

Give them something to believe in, make them feel all warm and fuzzy, ask for 10%, done deal.

Lady told me there was a church in my area that tells the people to bring in their W-2 to make sure they paying their 10%.

I was amazed and :smh: people are that dumb.

The bible say... Which implies lol
I feel sorry for the people that are giving them money.

The more the Church can get away with over time, the more desensitized the congregation becomes, the more normal crazy *** requests become. Hence shows like Preachers of LA not being crapped on by the Christian community. They say , "they are just normal people with problems too, just like us", you know, stuff like that to justify it.

Pimping aint easy

LMAO @ the w2 Hustle though, that's wack.

its just a means (literally and figures,) to clear conscious aka wrongs done, not accept personally responsibilities, not be accountable, and feel as if you are a decent moral person who does the right thing... and do for others w/o actually having to do those things.

that or you truly are a horrid, deplorable human being with no self awareness and with no natural sense of right and wrong and need a book, a belief, someone/thing to tell you how to be a decent human being.

I think a majority of people who go to Church go for this reason. Some are "true believers" though.

Momma didn't raise no fool.  I came up listening to this man, and all tho he's said some things I don't agree with this dude has some true insight and knowledge when it comes to the body of Christ.  Dudes teachings have put me on a path that I would've probably never gone down if it wasn't for his existence, and teachings.  I've gained a ton of insight, because of his teachings.

Plus him and his wife are on foot up and down Old National, in the strip clubs, and on the jo stroll giving a helping hand to those spiritually, mentally, and physically poor individuals in need of something that they may or may not be able to offer. Weather they can help or not they still try, and leave the door wide open for those that weren't ready then to receive the help, but are ready now.

Hell I just got a email from the mens ministry to come out and volunteer tomorrow and go around and hand out food in the impoverish areas of ATL.  This is what they do on a daily bases.  Help those who are unable to help themselves in anyway.

Plus World Changers Ministries are putting jobs in the community.

Can you honestly say Jay Z and dem are out doing the same, and really all they've done is present this ridiculous mentality that has spread amongst our people, and has yet to yield anything truly positive, and life changing.  The only message those cats spread is you ain't **** if you don't have this certain type of car or wear these certain type of clothes.  Creflo's core message is you too can live in prosperity.

If you don't know don't act like you know.

rellireloaded rellireloaded Yea ok. Creflo may do some positive things, God bless him for that.
Creflo isn't without fault either my brother. Let any man without sin cast the first stone.

I'm well aware of Creflo's "message" in his preaching, so if you don't know I know, don't act like I don't know.

My problem isn't with the message and positive feelings these guys bring to the community, it's preaching hope of prosperity to a congregation and telling them if they give money they don't have to the building fund, God will bless them, the people wait for their blessings while their kids go without electricity because the light bill money went to the church fund that puts electricity in the pastors 2nd 3rd 4th or 5th house.

you can truly "believe" anything still doesnt change what is.. also i find it very pompous and very arrogant in a sense to believe. You are in essence saying anything i dont know, cant explain, or dont understand ... it must be some higher being... It cant just be as simple as you dont have the insight, intellect, knowledge and thats why you dont know...... oh no your waaaay to smart for that. Its gotta be something that just cant be explained or cant be learned or acquired through knowledge, It has to be something/some spirit greater then all of us.

I don't know; people believe for a lot of different reasons, I for one would think "pompous" and "arrogance" are last on a list of factors that turn people into believers. It'd be more like the opposite of those two words that would bend someone's mind and will and faith in such a direction, characteristics such as meekness, timid, bashfulness.
You'd be hard pressed to debate it with me though, I don't believe in God in that sense my dude.

The church and religion period only means something to those who don't have or who are at their lowest.

Just think about how much the catholic church and the other religions are sitting on.
