Her (starring Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson).

Film is outstanding.

Just a true gem from a visual/philosophical standpoint. I thought Gravity was the best looking movie I was going to see in a while but this is just as good if not better. Joaquin was illuminating, masterful performance from him he's just a true actor. The film explores questions about relationships and feelings in a way great art only can.

Spike Jonze deserves everything for this, could not say enough about the writing and style. The shot of the dust particles during his last conversation with Samantha is cinema. So many beautiful shots and scenes like the date with Olivia Wilde

Man I loved this movie, definitely will be watching again on psychedelics.

So lemme get this str8 the guy falls in love with Siri?

Does he at least get good directions?

I wouldn't call him a loser...things don't work out in life, some take it better than others. He was perfectly fine with the relationship and it seemed like others were too. People were having this type relationship too, they talked about in the movie.

I feel like if you don't have an imagination or you're trying to find "logic" in this movie, you won't enjoy it.

Sorry I had to do it

This movie is insane, especially the last 30 minutes. I'm sure if this was possible plenty of people would do this

There is actually a lot of "logic" to this movie. If you take away the initial wtf-quality of dating an OS, everything this movie has to say about relationships and love and dealing with loss is legit and poignant. It's one of the smartest screenplays in a long time. I almost can't believe its Spike Jonze's first work as a screenwriter.

That's what I mean, if you can get over WTF, or just the simple "so he loves his computer" then you'll enjoy it.

There was a lot of deep quotes in this movie too. It was done very well for this first screenplay.

I watched the movie again and I can't help but see Samantha symbolizes the soul; conscious without a physical body that is also in time/space and can be anywhere at the same time. Theodore for one represents the human beings; full of emotions, complicated in many ways and also conscious in a different plane. Once Samantha reached another level of consciousness, she felt it was time for them to part and go on their separate way. Theodore tried to follow her conscious thoughts but couldn't. The relationship between our soul and our physical matter (Human being) is a love story within itself. The soul (Samantha) needed Theodore (Human) to progress onto another level of understanding of experience itself subjectively. We are all souls living and learning our ways into another level of ourselves. Thus, just like Samantha we too going to progress onto another level of consciousness and go on to different ways from ourselves.

I believe movies speaks to our subconscious mind and we need to be consciously be aware. I just want to share that with you guys. I really like this film.

Was I the only one thinking Alan Watts was going to steal Samantha from Theodore?

Also the soundtrack to this movie was incredible. Does anyone know the song that was playing while they were at the beach

That's the thing though - there is no getting over the WTF of dating an OS, that's what the whole plot is based upon...

...what separates this guy from men who buy sex dolls as to not deal with real people?

Not matter how it's romanticized, it's not normal activity...

..."Wilson" was a friend in "Castaway" because there was literally no one else to talk to.

This man chose to shut himself off and engage in a relationship with a future Xbox One because he was either: a) incredibly depressed and didn't realize it, or like his ex-wife would say, b) incredibly selfish...

...the most telling scene to me was him describing his relationship with his mother as the program was initially assessing him, and it's ironic because the program (which was supposed to deliver the most personal and caring AI ever known) cut him off while he was speaking on a very sensitive subject.

Well said papageorge I had very similar feelings toward the film

Alan Watts was the beginning of him seeing how far he was from being on the same level. He liked the potential and the idea of Samantha (The Soul) but was still stuck in the physical plane with the pain of his past that held him from reaching that level of consciousness. She constantly has to challenge him to make the changes to free himself that he should have been making on his own but because it came from a different place he believed it. Homie almost had a stroke when she went off line for a quick second

Just finished watching this film. Very thought-provoking and the ending was very sad.

Can someone explain to me what was happening when Samantha first met Alan Watts? I wasn't exactly sure what they were talking about, probably because it's 3am, but it seemed to start spiraling after that. Was that when Samantha first started realizing that she couldn't be in a relationship with Joaquin's character anymore?

Loved it. Joaquin played this role perfectly. Every facial expression and feeling he had was deep and authentic. It was amazing watching the devlopment of a friendship relationship. Im starting to watch it twice just cause SJO voice is so damn sexy haha.

Makes me wonder if artificial intelligence could ever be reached like this one day

They (the OS's) were evolving at a fast rate. They were creating other OS's and I think they felt that their intelligence and understanding was far more superior than any human, thus why she started feeling disconnected towards him. Singularity man :smh:
