Fast and Furious Thread: Hobbs and Shaw Spin Off 2019 - Tyrese career ending injury

It hurts to say it, but Chris Pine "could" continue on as Brian O'Connor if they decided to try that route.

Not sure they want to do that, but he would be an option if they decide that's the only way.

Thats actually not a bad idea. It would make the writers jobs easier.

And lets be serious here, Tokyo Drift > 2Fast2Furious. Its not even close.

I'm gonna need to hear Chris pine say "drop it cuh" before believing he can go anywhere near Brian O'connor :rolleyes

I don't really WANT them to recast Brian O'Connor, I was just saying that physically he could assume the role.

Believe me, I don't feel like seein Pine and Vin and Tyrese interact. Was just mentioning the physical appearance if they went that route.

Best course, they have enough footage to make him usable in the movie, and find an escape route that fits, isn't barbaric in terms of what happened, and they can just move on with who they have left. I hope they can manage something.

movie wise yes. it was a better movie from start to finish. something about 2f2f tho...story sucked but

2f2f just had the laughs, eva mendes, the legendary chemistry between rome and brian and the quotables man... enough to edge TD imo

i remember my 1st time watching it in the theateres thinkin...did dis foo brian conner really just say cuh?

my rankings
1,2,3,5,6,4

you can't recast Brian; it would turn the entire fan base off

you need to move on without Paul Walker or his character; you can always introduce a new star and hope fans take to really liking him but you CAN'T recast Brian; it's movie suicide

exactly, cant believe people actually believe/think recasting is possible

dumbest idea ever

Ethan Hawke would be good. I waa talking with a friend about this the other day, apparently he thought Paul Walker was Ethan Hawke the whole time. Not to mention Ethan is a far superior actor.

I don't think bringing in anyone with a name is good either; you have to cast someone younger who isn't a household name and hope fans embrace him

someone like that dude from Sons of Anarchy who was supposed to be in 50 Shades and dropped out

I think your best bet is to have that person start out as a "bad guy" and have him turn to help Vin and the crew...fans would eat that up

You mean like The Rock's character?

The Rock was never a bad guy.

I agree with what your saying stillln729.

That would be a slap in the face to everybody.
Its not the dumbest idea.
Im just thinking about continuity concerning the story line. Im sure the writers already had a storyline that did not involve Bryan dieing. Now they have to. Having a new actor portraying Bryan would eliminate that problem

This will be another test to see how good the writers and directors are. :nerd:

You mean like The Rock's character?

the Rock was technically the good guy the entire time and the crew would be the "bad guys"

He just happened to side with the crew once his men were killed

No way they let someone else play O'Conner.  It just isn't gonna happen.

The series will continue though.  I wouldn't be mad if it ended with 7, but with the amount of money these movies rake in, I can't see them stopping.  Cash rules.

these movies are now huge budget movies so you can't scale back

7 will prob break all kinds of records and would have done it before Paul's death but the movie studio is gonna have to really think about dropping $300 million+ on Fast 8 knowing there is no Paul Walker and the increased attention to go see it is out the window once Paul's death subsides

Also unless they let Jason Statham survive and escape, what possible story could they tell in 8? This group has done it all. LOL

Bank Heist in Brazil
Foiling International Terrorists
Bringing Letty back to the family
Avenging Han, Giselle and company's death

I don't think there is much story left to tell. My only unanswered question is where is Leon.

Varrone is still out there to come after Tyrese.

Bragas is still in prison and could come out to seek some payback.

If the Rock got killed off, then the US could then want the crew back in jail, hence them needing to run again.

They could tell tons of stories still.

Yeah they plan on going to 10. They have to change stuff around but they can easily tell more stories without Paul.
