I can't stand that getting a new phone has become so convoluted, I feel like I gotta make some spreadsheets to see what all the different options are and how they compare 

Now I understand why some people would just rather buy the phone upfront. I just want the phone man

That was easy. Wound up doing it through Verizon because I don't have time to go to an Apple store to set up an approval appointment and all that.

$31.24 a month for the 64GB 6S . Should arrive on the 25th, have to trade in my current 5S within 14 days.

Before checkout it had shipping dates if you check your status it'll also show you.

How you figure...I pay the $299/399 upfront...phone is mine, I can upgrade and keep my phone. I got a grandfathered $80 unlimited plan

Unlimited talk + text, 5GB data = $90 + tax, monthly
Pay for iPhone 6 upfront = $200
$2160+ over 2 years.

AT&T Next (pay for smartphone monthly):

Unlimited talk + text, 5GB data = $75 + tax, monthly
Pay for iPhone 6 monthly = $21
Total bill monthly = $95 + tax
$2280+ over 2 years

You were not paying $300 for the phone. You were paying the full retail spread out over 2 years. Carriers just "hid" this cost by factoring this into their service.
Look at the price of just service for 2 year contract vs month to month.

Folks the payment plans most carriers have rolled out are typically cheaper short term and long term.

I know with att and Verizon unless you use a small amount of data or you are a 5 years old plan it's waaaay cheaper to do device payments.


The catch with device payments is you making the penalty to leave whatever carrier you are with before the 2 years is up much higher.

It's all still a 2 year contract honestly

Its not necessarily an argument but more so a fact. Subsidized prices came available because you were locked into two years.

Sign up for a 2 year contract right now and attempt to switch carriers. You'll get hit with an early termination fee.

That ETF is to cover the cost of the rest of your phone. They don't give a **** about the service. But they sure as hell won't take that loss on the phone

Factor in that extra cost and its sure to be more than a contract. If you just do straight payments on the phone it will probably be less than a contract. I haven't run the numbers but I'm willing to bet that's the case

People sleeping man. T mobile service used to be garbage but they come a LONG way. From my experiences only, I just switched from Verizon to t mobile and I've noticed little to no change in service. In fact, t mobile had better service in my office than Verizon

For those making some changes with their phones and carriers, I HIGHLY recommend you take advantage of t mobiles test drive program to see how the service is in your area. It might save you a ton of money in the long run. My family is saving $100 a month by switching

They're always gonna lag but you gotta draw the line on what people need in a service. If t mobile gets the job done in your area of living, why not go with them. Do people really need service in the sticks in which they'll drive through once a year?

Aye man,I definitely agree with you. I veen a loyal Tmo customer for year . Never any huge coplaints over here. But being in the city, its frustrating having city completely drop in certain areas while my girl out here flourishing online in the sane areas
