entry level luxury cars.... EDIT: I DO NOT want one. just want people's opinion.

So your BRZ isnt a underpowered coupe according

To everyone that has reviewed it? Thats facts b.

Everyone thats reviewed it, the car is getting universal praise

But I know I shoulda spent $8k+ more and copped da Hemi

Or I can mod it myself with that $8k

Your arguments about HP are asinine, move on B

I dont think most people realize the biggest reason power is so "low" on the BRZ is so they will sell more cars.

The BRZ is the first RWD car marketed directly toward younger demographics at a very reasonable price point in a long time.

RWD + low average age of consumer means = relatively high insurance rates ... a factor most people take into consideration when buying a new car.

If the BRZ was rated at 300hp from the factory, insurance rates would be astronomical and they would totally shut out their target demographic forcing them to look elsewhere.

Its the epitome of what a tuner car is supposed to be....your supposed to mod and tune it yourself !

I don't see what's so wrong about buying an entry level luxury

I'm looking at a 335 coupe because that thing is flat out beautiful. I will take that specific car over any other series (minus the M and 6) in BMW's lineup. I've never been a fan of huge cars unless they're American Muscle
The 335 is not an entry-level car, the 320 and 328 are...

The obvious insecurity in this thread blows my mind.

There are people who really don't buy "entry level luxury" because they think you're only buying the car for its badge?

Really? Thats what you think? So you're only "doing it" if you buy the top of the line one, or the at least the one that nobody can stunt on you in because of its ticket price?

That good old Niketalk logic.
so...

from what i gather...

if its not the FULLY loaded version of something... like a bmw 750 or a mercedes s550 or a lexus LS460... there's no point in buying it?

if if you cant get that, then you have to get a... camry? or a chevy volt?

i'm just trying to get the general consensus of a few NTers oon here

also, is there any difference between a FULLY LOADED avalon and a fully loaded LS460? (besides the woodgrain interior)

what about a fully loaded altima versus a fully loaded infiniti?

and lastly, those performance cars (srt8 challenger, zr1 camero, mustang) if they're not being used to their fullest capability, then what's the point of buying them?

i mean.. if you're going to and from work... why buy something that you wont use on a daily basis?
no lie it feels like im looking a failed transcripts to a bigtymer intro

IF YO RIDE DONT HAVE NO TVS, VCR'S, NINTENDO'S, OR BUTTONS YOU GOTTA TAKE IT BACK,

At the end of the day get what you want and what you think looks nice.

Are you serious about the Avalon and LS460???? Do people here really think the avalon has as many options as the LS, ****** who dont own a luxury car dont know the difference. Everything from the tires to the leather seats and the navi options and the smoothness, less body roll. Avalon doesnt hold a handle to the LS at all. Not all cars drive the same. I think thats what most of yall think. Not sure if you srs though.

^ I'm sure he realizes that but once again it's minor differences that separate the 2. Aside from handling and engine power the 2 are very similar cosmetically.

Bingo!  I think what a lot of you guys are missing in this thread is this exact sentiment.  Car manufacturers, particularly the Japanese became very astute in the 90s and saw that over engineering  motors led to high production costs and lower sales numbers.  This led to the end of what I feel was our generations golden era when over engineered icons like the NSX and MKIV Supra TT fizzled in the American market and the run only lasted a few years.  Unfortunately I don't think we will see cars like this ever again, hence why I believe they will become the ultimate collector cars in 20-30yrs.  They underpowered the BRZ/ FRS for a reason, sales numbers and demographics.  Look at the big european luxury car manufacturers and you will find the best profit margin and sales in the entry level segment.  Benz c-class, BMW 3-series, Porsche Cayenne/Boxster/Cayman.  To be successful in business I think you have to be driven by numbers and profit margin, and entry level cars represent the pinnacle of that business model.

ease up g... i was just asking...

is it woth the 30-40k difference in price?

I dont have a entry level IS250 but I know the IS is the entry-level Lexus but I rather have my F-Sport than a fully loaded Camry. Some of you dudes logic is gone. Who the hell would rather take a fully loaded Jetta over an Audi A4 or fully loaded Maxima over a Infiniti G37?

The only exception would be Fully loaded Accord > Acura TL.

The Avalon is a fwd v6 while the LS is a rwd v8... still not worht the 40k price difference but they're 2 totally different cars.

A better comparison would be the Avalon vs the Lexus ES

Right, it doesn't get better than that, great deal. It's as paying down more than you owe a month is a foreign concept to yall.

I can't tell you how dumb people are when it comes to interest rates and managing money

a 30 year car loan at 0% is better than any loan with interest as long as you pay it off in the right time frame

concept way over certain people's heads

Is that a serious question?  Maybe someone that doesn't want to deal with the maintenance cost of the luxury cars?  Maybe someone that prefers to have an upgraded sound system, navigation, heated seats, etc. versus whatever comes with a base model A4 or G37?

I'd take a fully loaded, V6 Camry SE over an IS250 F-Sport  any day.  I wouldn't even consider the 250 only the 350.  First of all, the car will be cheaper.  Second of all, maintenance will be cheaper, maybe even covered, on the Camry.  And lastly, it's got more horsepower and a faster 0-60 time.  I'm sure the IS has better handling, but, let's be honest, I wouldn't be taking either anywhere where the handling would matter...

Not hating on you if you own an IS250, but like I said...

Now, if we're talking IS350 F-Sport, no question I'd take that, but I'm not about that "entry-level" life.  Y'all can have the IS250s of the world, I'll save money until I can get the 350 or something better...

the nt community in the past years and threads have cemented the idea into people's heads that financing a car is bad and only bad :smh:

im saying... 72 months though?

those 0% interest rates aren't forever...thats mostly likely da first year.

I don't understand how some of you guys can hate on freedom of choice. I'm glad we aren't assigned a tier of vehicle based on our income like some communist state with a planned economy. A consensus would never be reached on what car each income level "should" drive. People can wake up in a Bugatti or walk to work from their McMansion, it's all good. Decision making isn't exactly a science with humans, that's what makes life beautiful.

Also, it seems like many think entry-level luxury either attracts over qualified buyers (cardiologist) or under qualified ($30k millionaire douchebag). So what do ya'll consider the sweet-spot? When will you give someone hopping out of a 328i the head nod of approval you feel will make or break their day? Should BMW nix the 328? Does the 335 now become the entry level? Should they just make the M3? Rid themselves of the 3-series altogether?

Real talk, BMW isn't a luxury brand anyways. It's a performance brand. All of their cars reflect this, their "entry-level" 1 & 3 series actually represent the essence of the brand

I will say you do make a good point

Unless they make only one model in each class there will always be an entry level
