entry level luxury cars.... EDIT: I DO NOT want one. just want people's opinion.

lol @ this thread and some of the replies here, like i'm wondering if u guys have driven a camry, accord, maxima then drive a g35/37, lexus IS/GS, 3 series, A4. There is a a distinct difference in these cars and im not talking about the badge or even just the looks. From sitting in the car and comparing the features, to driving them around the streets to booking it on the highway, it is definitely not the same, some cars may bridge that common/economic car to entry level luxury gap better than others but at the end of the day its still a gap in terms of features, performance, quality (varying with each brand). Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with a base or fully loaded accord, maxima, camry (i actually really like the new accord/maxima and think they did a great job) but those cars are all FWD, while these"entry level luxury" brands cars tend to be RWD or AWD, and after driving FWD cars for a while and then driving RWD/AWD i feel like i cant go back to FWD and would prefer my future cars to be RWD/AWD. I personally tend to go by engine size and performance output, while also looking at drivetrain, quality, reliability, when looking at cars to distinguish which one is the most bang for my buck, not by the brand.

Very well said. That said, while I love to drive, I don't value meaningless performance specs when deciding on a car, but moreso the feel of it ex. tightness of the handling. Based of specs, the car I've got my eye on for a second, fun, car, a 1992 Mazda Miata, is absolutely terrible. But I prefer it over any car I've ever driven, and that includes S4s, Ferrari 575M, FR-S, many Mustang and Camaro V8s. Ask anyone who's ever driven a first-gen manual Miata if it's not one of the best handling cars out there.
 
Damn hits being fired everywhere.

I don't car about the prestige a car brings you. I love the BMW 3 series. It's smaller, looks nice. I don't care for the 5 or 7 series they're just huge. Not what I'm looking for.
 
Word this thread is confusing to me because I love the 3 Series and the 6 Series( I am aware the 6 costs more than the 5), only like the 5 Series, and am not a fan of the 7. Guess my perspective is wack.

4 series will be the new 3 series soon correct? So if you can't afford the M4.......keep it movin.

i get what you're saying, maybe i left out handling and suspension in my post but those are def. important factors, can't just go strictly off specs gotta drive that car around and see how it performs and if u like it. That being said i also like a brand that takes pride in their engines and performance specs while also having good mpg among competitors in its class.
 
Miata has some serious enthusiast out there. Are they really that fun to drive? I know a girl with a old miata, like 94..Stick also.. I'm bout to tell her I wanna whip it.

Whatever you do, don't cop the 328i even though it suits all of your needs and you love it...this is an "entry-level" luxury car and therefore you are buying it only for it sake of it being a BMW. When copping a 3-series, it's either the M3 or you ain't doing it!

Da fully loaded camry is what you must buy since it is cheaper and offers more features than the 328...regardless if you hate the way it looks. I understand you will be expected to own it for years ahead and spend thousands purchasing it, but still. It's simple b, facts is facts. Da numbers don't lie

I own an NB and don't regret my purchase whatsoever. Quick enough for me, insanely agile, 50/50 weight distribution, torsen LSD, and an engine that's tough as nails. Gonna keep this car until I beat the life out of it then probably buy another.
 
my buddy's dad has a Miata he bought new in like 1992

they got $$$ but he just loves that car

We thirst to pay 200.00 for shoes with 25 year old tech because they "look good" even though they tear up like 40.00 dollar shoes.

No one should be shocked when people decide to make similar buying decisions with their vehicles.

before i bought my car LOOKS come first no matter what im not buying a car i think is ugly idc

after that ill see how it stacks up to the other cars and narrow it down to what i get for my $
