Hi,

Does anyone have pictures of the wedding with the Jordan XI Concords worn by the best men or the husband himself? What should be the color theme to go with the shoes?

If this is a wrong place to be moved, please move to the correct section- thank you!

I requested Jordan XI Concords and my fiancé allowed that, so it's all good. It's about discussing color theme at this time, any suggestions?

DMP XI's are a great idea!!!

Majority of the color theme's that I've seen involve black/white or a dark charcoal/gray color with the concords.

sneakers and suites dont go together. but if you look young sure try it
This. Sneakers with a suit look tacky, including XIs. I'd maybe wear them for the reception only if it was me.  I mean, its your day so you should do what you want but would you rather have everyone looking at the smile on your wife's face or your tacky sneakers? Plus at this point it's been done sooo many times it's not even original anymore.

If being into sneakers is a big part of your life ( and im sure it is for most of us) then why shouldnt it be in your wedding? it is one aspect of who you are so why not remember that forever. As far as colors go black/purple with concords will look good or just black/white or black gold with DMP or whatever makes you happy, it is in fact YOUR day too

I don't and never understood the fascination with this. People took what MJ had as a concept and ran with it. I repeat, this was a fashion concept given by Michael....Jordan. Take a look at what he's worn over the years and tell me if you are willing to take fashion advice from this man lol. It sounded nice, and may work ideologically, but in reality no. Wear your shoes for an important occasion, and not kicks. Besides, hasn't this idea been overdone over the last decade?

so because people want to wear shoes that they love and adored for a lifetime they are just trying to be like Mike? i think not, shoes for me take me back to a time period in my life whether it be a bad or great time but its the same as music or food. Certain songs take me back the same way so im guessing having your favorite songs at your wedding is stupid and overdone as well? It is a joyous day for both people involved and they should do everything they possibly can to have the most memorable exciting and happy day of their lives and for some people wearing shoes that make you happy will do that for them so why hate? let people do what makes them happy.

Whoa, slow down my man. You sound like you took that a little to personal. As far as the bolded statement, in effect yes. That's where the desire stems from. I'm sure you're even aware of the gatorate jingle saying so as well. You then jump to shoes in general, I was focused on the XI in particular as that was the question posed in the tread title, or did I miss something completely? I was an opinion, not a personal indictment to all persons across humanity chose to wear XI's on their wedding day. It is of my opinion, I repeat (to avoid and confusion) my OPINION, that this is a ridiculous practice. If they're "just shoes" which ultimately, that's what they are, then why do they get put on such a pedistal? Truth be told, the Concords are my all time favorite shoe, and I would never do this, but that's me opinion. I'm don't knock anyone who does it, I just disagree with it. I wish you and people of your ilk stop throwing "hate" around. Having a dissenting opinion doesn't equal hate. Stop it.

i understand that it is your opinion and im not hurt by it im just trying to put in perspective why people do it, some might do it to look cool or be like mike or whatever but me personally it takes me back to middle school and i had an amazing childhood (thank you god) and these always remind me of good times in school with friends and all of that mess. Plus nobody recognizes what shoes you wear in a typical wedding so i thought this was a chance to be slightly different than the norm. If this is not for you i understand and respect your opinion i just dont get why one mans choice gets bashed by others instead of just stating that you wouldnt do it. Its all good in tha hood though, i think its ok and in fact shows more personality than a boring wedding thats with no flavor but to each his own.

I think it's cool that people's wives let them wear their XI's for their wedding reception.

However, I used to wear XI's to other people's weddings and looking back, I feel it was kinda ridiculous now, and I was a teenager then!

Wear what you like dude.

But in my opinion, leave the XIs for hooping and wear some nice dress shoes for the wedding.
But if you plan to wear the Concords, just go in your regular tux.

People have there own taste and stuff they wanna wear I think the skinny jeans and flat tops are stupid as hell but that's what those people wanna wear.

My soon to be bride ok'd me to wear one of my J's for the reception. **** I got her Manolo blahnik the Swans( ask your wifey if you don't know) for her big day.
So it's either one of my DS xi dmp, ix 9 OG or bred XI. Going with 9 so far since its my first jordan shoe I ever got
In the end do whatever pleases you I know I will. Oh yea my grooms men will be rocking XI anniversary

I don't understand the hate for the whole Concord / DMP XI at weddings.

I'll admit. I have an unlaced DS pair of '11 Concords and a DS pair of DMP XI's.. one of them is going to be worn on my wedding day. Whether it's for when I'm standing at the altar or at my reception, or all damn day long- they will be worn.I don't understand why they're considered tacky. Is it because they're not dress shoes? A lot of people (including myself) probably think that dress shoes in general don't look good, and as stated above- wearing Jordans to your wedding when they're a big part of your life is something different. Obviously you can't wear just any Jordan model and pull it off, so the XI is usually the go-to for wedding / things that involve suits or nice dress. If anyone calls me tacky for wearing the shoes I want on my wedding day, I'll simply laugh and go on with my life. It's MY day too, I'll wear what I want.

With the money I can get for my Concords and my DMPs.. I could get 3 pairs of dress shoes that would be happily accepted by the people who would be calling me tacky. My girlfriend wants to wear Chuck Taylors underneath her wedding dress for some reason, but hey. As long as I can wear my XIs and have my open bar, I'm good to go on whatever the hell she wants to do.

IMHO, Concords / DMPs go great w/ a classic black / white tux. My third option would be my pair of Stealth XXIIIs.

anyone thought of black/gold 1s , its all patent leather hehe

been to a bred XI wedding before, everyone thought it was cool (including the brides' grandma lol),

also been to a wedding where everyone wears flip-flops & sandals(even the groom with a suit)..

not everyone can be conservative, so be comfortable on your wedding, as long as both are ok with it, its fine & it really makes the wedding You, the last thing you want is feel like something is being forced upon you.

anyways heres from google, i've seen other ones before but cant find it

Thanks, isniker!

Looks like its gonna be white/black/red as the wedding color them. I'll be wearing the Breds, while the guys will be wearing the Concords.

I see no problem with this. I have DS pairs of black/red 11s and concord 11s specifically for this purpose.

It's your wedding wear what makes YOU happy. And congrats on your wedding.
