All of my 1985 babies. What are you up to today?

Dec 85

-Working a dead end job smh
-Been tryna the last 2 year s to get an electrician apprenticeship
-No kids
 
January 85

Not exactly where I want to be, but, not mad at where I'm at
1 kid and 1 due around my birthday
 
May '85 checking in:

- 11 years deep into the Navy (currently detached in the U.A.E.)

- Daughter starts school on Monday, but she's so excited about these Saturday dance classes she currently enrolled in right now.

- Planning a vacation when I return to the States but I don't know where I wanna go…depends on if I'm going solo or with a female friend…Vegas, Miami (overrated I heard), LA, or to my second home Houston is on the list.

I should be writing this paper on union leadership, but I can't read three chapters without taking a break…it's 12:15pm here, hope all is well with everyone Stateside cheers to the weekend.
 
July 85 here..

Just hit 29 and im loving life so far.

Married for 7 years with 1 daughter who is 4.
I own 3 homes. 1 living 2 rentals
Work for the government during the day and sell real estate on the side
I play basketball 7 days a week. Im nice too. lol. (handles and a jumper thats it. I dont finish at the rim im too scared to get hurt ahahaha)
Start grad school in 3 days :frown:
Drive a CLA.
Im a video game addict.

Thats pretty much me so far.
 
'85 baby here

married (kinda miss the single life but the woman i have really Loves me for me, so i'm happy)
took me 7 years to finally get a bachelor degree but got one
have a career....not makin 6figures yet...smh
saving up money to buy a place (not buyin kicks like i use to)
no kids yet...........tryin to buy a place first
also i am in the best shape of my life..... been doing HIIT .got my 6pack and all

Own place in a nice neighborhood
Own car that’s paid for. Debating getting a new one. Nothing wrong with the one I have, just feeling the itch for something new lol

Full time job that pays well but with my bills and love for nice things I need to make more
Healthy but starting to pack on some lbs. so I guess i need to start hitting the gym and eating better

Overall, I am happy and that's what truly matter.

Yea I saw that somewhere a while ago and it really applies to my life nowadays

I know I posted mine earlier but what u wrote sums me up in a nutshell other than the car. I had a car that was paid off but got a new one.

Summed me up too but I did finally get a new car at 28 an I consistently hit the gym

Sometimes fam. My friends are between 26-32 so I dont really feel old around them and i mostly work with older people so I feel young at work. But on like social networks and just being out in the city I look around sometimes and be like dag, I'll be 30 soon lol. I find myself telling younger dudes what I "used to do" and that makes me feel like a geezer sometimes lol

That and when all these nostalgia threads pop up on NT

Not to mention that feeling when you realize your favorite sports stars that you have watched since college are bout to retire smh
