I am a heroin addict. Ask me anything.

Do you consider yourself a "functioning" addict?

Is the heroin high as great as I've heard?

How accurate is the movie Requiem For A Dream? How did the movie make you feel?

Is there any drug that you look down on? Crack? Meth?

You ever did something you're ashamed of for a fix?
LOTS of stuff

Main thing is stealing. From strangers, FAMILY (the WORST feeling in the world), friends.
Hustled, flew a sign by the freeway, middle-manned, yeah.

what's the worst part of the come down?

Do you hide it from your family?

I hope you get some help though man. Don't want anything bad to happen to you holmes.

This isn't something you can just quit. I hear they keep chasing that first high and never get it

I think he knows that. Quitting an addictive chemical is a bit more complicated than hitting the X button on his browser.
I'm no stranger to drug use and the toll that addiction can take on your life, your body, and your loved ones. I speak from experience. OP, please stop this foolishness and try to see how much more there is to live for in life.

What age did you start using, When you made the switch from opiates to Heroin?

Also, What are your thoughts on methadone treatment for addicts?

You also mentioned, you want to stop evetually, have you tried to stop before and for how long were you successful in those attempts if so?

Good thread btw, not alot of people can open themselves up about stuff like this

Honestly...why shouldn't people use heroin? I mean I get the whole "drug addict" thing, but what about the dude who uses and holds down a 9-5 for years...why shouldn't they use?

For those saying it's an impossiblity I look no further than my family, got a few like that in my family and can't for the life of me figure out why they shouldn't do what makes them happy.

how much weight have you lost?
About 20 lbs. I was 150 and now I'm about 130.

Makes sense looking back at your responses on raves and festivals. With that said, will you continue to encourage people on NT to do drugs are raves because you say it's pointless to attend them and be sober?

You see, this is my problem. You're an addict, you've known you were an addict, and you still encouraged people, kids even, on NT, to do drugs when attending music festivals. No sympathy from me.

I thought I was the only one that notice this guys response for many things was do drugs

No questions from me, I just hope you get well soon, bro.

really? You actually think it makes them happy? So, you think it's okay that your family members are shooting up heroin, since it makes them happy? Why do you think they feel that way? When has doing heroin ever lead to something good or somebody being happy? This is a poor *** excuse. You can hold down a 9-5 or whatever, and then be dead the next day. Is it worth it?

Damn man... :frown:

Ill pray for you. Thread got me wanting to stop smoking weed...

Prayer for you man.

But why did you start? Honest to god question. Back in high school I smoked a little Pot. Just wasnt for me. Yes yes i know, nothing at all like heroin. But even back then i knew as a kid, pot wasnt horrible for you. But back then i also knew that heroin was possibly the hardest of all drugs!

I could never in my whole life try it knowing how horrible it is, and the things it does to your body.

So my question to you is.

I'm assuming you had knowledge of how horrible heroin is for you, maybe even how addicting it is. Knowing all this, why try it in the first place? What led you to try it?

Praying for you man.

I feel you and I was being irresponsible with that. I'm not getting into this, but MDMA is non-addictive. I know tons and tons of people who aren't addicts that feel the same way about raves that I do. Don't care about your sympathy, but you are kind of an *** hole for even posting that in the first place. But whatever, no skin off my nose.

No, you obviously don't feel me, because you're STILL justifying the use of drugs in this very response! Stop continuing to justify the use of ANY drugs.

Honestly..they have families, go to their kids this or that. Don't get arrested...to much. And they seem pretty content in their life, I mean their not ballin out our anything but I can see it in them, they look about as happy and normal as anyone else I see around. Idk, you sound like someone who doesn't know many addicts. I know dudes who have been on meth for years...I'm talking decades. I know dudes who have done coke for just as long, and my fam has been heroin addicts since before I was breathing. They never seem to hurt anyone else, their kids have grown up about as normal as any other kid from our neighborhood....idk...I really don't know. Not everything or everyone in life fits the perfect mold.

we have a terrible stigma about drug use and drug users, then pop every pill that FDA says is cool, drink every beer we can. I've always been conflicted in this way, sitting in DARE class learning about how terrible drugs are, then going home and watching my uncle shoot up and take me to the park and generally be there for me.

Hope you get help man. Know a good amount of people that had the same problem and it's not worth what you turn into, I'm sure you know that but you gotta muster up some will to get better.

I watched the movie Trainspotting the other day (great film, it's on Netflix)

Have you seen it? If so how accurate is it?

You're forgetting that being an addict is a huge waste of money. Dude said he spends $500-$1000 a week, that's like someone's entire paycheck.

Have you tried any other hard drugs? If so how are the highs different? Is a heroin high better than orgasm?

I'm sorry, but anybody who is doing heroin isn't content with their life, that much is obvious. And yes, I do know just a bit about about it, considering my father died when I was 7 because of heroin. If you're going to choose drugs over your kids, you're an ***hole, and thats all there is to it. There is NO good that comes from doing heroin, and no justifying it, so it's pretty ridiculous to see a few of you boasting about it. "They never seem to hurt anyone else" yeah, until their kids are at their funeral because of a drug overdose. Nothing good comes from it.

That's not really true for me. Every time getting high feels amazing, and every come down is awful. I can't say that my first time getting high was better than the rest.

Started using opiates at like 22 (I'm 25 now). Heroin is an opiate, I think you mean what made me switch from opiate pills like Oxycontin to heroin. The answer to that question is simply financial. It is the same high, but heroin is much cheaper. That's why I would say 95% of heroin users started using it. Oxycontin pills were about $40 for an 80mg pill, I could get about half a gram of dope for that price. Much better money-wise, but it's heroin.

Methadone is a ball and chain. It's useful for some as maintainance, but it should only be used for people who have tried rehab and counseling and such. It's just trading one addiction for another. The best maintainance therapy IMO is Suboxone. It doesn't get you high like methadone, and blocks opiate receptors so that if you use them, nothing happens.

I have tried to kick many times, and I stay clean for a little, but always go back. It's easy to kick, but really tough to stay clean.

Thanks, I just see a huge amount of misinformation about this type of stuff, so I wanted to provide some real insight.

Hey, some people can use drugs responsibly. It's very uncommon, but I know people who can do it. It's known as "chipping." If you can do it, go right ahead. Other than addiction, opiates are not really harmful for your body. Alcohol is MUCH more damaging.

I thought I was the only one that notice this guys response for many things was do drugs

Woman, please. I am heavy in the medical marijuana threads because it is useful in SO MANY ways. There are a ton of uses for MMJ.

I don't get this. He's a junkie and went way overboard but it doesn't mean ANY and ALL drugs are bad. Sure, no drug use would prevent this heroin foolishness but you could use that argument about A LOT of things.

Misinformation on heroin, huh? What can be so misguided? I wouldn't consider what your providing is real insight, but just some sorry *** excuses and misguidance. How am I supposed to take somebody serious when they're typing off of a fresh injection. Lettuce be cereal.
