I came in here to say this

Listened to Capital Vices. It's interesting, that's about as nice as I can put it. 

EVERYTHING about this dude sounds like a cheap Weeknd imitation knockoff, like everything. The forced vocals, the forced expletives, the forced raunchiness, it almost makes me cringe. 

Some of the sounds dude comes up with are actually very dope, but at the end of the day this is pure imitation to me. Maybe with some experience and backing he can cultivate his own sound. If he just tries to be Weekend 2.0  he will fail miserably.

edit:  Listening to his other EP and I gotta say there is something here. He's gotta do more to develop his own sound. 

I think this is showing that Weeknd, while original, wasn't really talented enough to make something that people couldn't do just as well or even better.

Sonically Party sound nothing like the Weeknd. Anybody who thinks so is not really listening. 

There are instances on capital vices where dude outright uses the exact same flow and delivery The Weeknd has used.  There are lyrics and verbage that are near identical to The Weeknd's writing.  Instances where he's hitting notes that are blatantly emulating the Weeknd. There are times when you'd be forgiven for thinking this dude is covering The Weeknd. 

That said I think dude has real talent and he does show the ability to showcase his own sound and creativity on both the EPs posted. It's just that there instances where is blatantly biting The Weeknd are so glaringly obvious that they really stick out. 

I'm very curious how old dude is and how long he's been recurring. He sounds like an incredibly raw talent and sometimes he sounds like he's deliberately trying to sound like an artist who's influenced him. 

Weeknd fans aren't going to be having it though.
