so this is the set up for the skate comp  it was supposed to be located at the roof of the mall, but since it has been raining really bad over here which is crazy cause this is the fckn middle east and it shouldn't even rain during this time of year, so they moved it at the indoor parking lot.. hopefully it stops raining later, ill be touring the dude from south africa to some spots.

really excited for the comp.. the last time redbull hosted and comp and provided obstacles was on 2007 or 2008 i think.. hoping we get so much exposure that people will realize we need a public park and a skateshop

i still need to watch "Visualtraveling: The Persian Version"

oh wow, that's something new, I thought weekends and weekdays were the same everywhere.

hell yea bro, post everything you can, I like seeing stuff like that.

The 6th and final part of Ed Templeton's Epicly Later'd is finally up!

Pretty crazy to be reminded how many times Toy Machine reinvented itself with all the team changes through the years. With the exception of Leo and Diego, I don't know too much about the latest version of the team yet, but Dill's quote about "Toy Machine giving birth to other Toy Machines" seemed pretty on point after, especially after the BA, Bam, Donny Barley, Kerry Getz, Elissa Steamer, Chris Senn, Maldonado, etc. era.

It also got super real when his wife was talking about how much she worries about him being injured.

Even though I'm hoping the next series is even half as good as the Templeton one was, even if it isn't, I can always watch it again. Or the Cardiel one, or the Mariano one, or the Rowley one...

A lot of the footage from the last part came from "This is Skateboarding"

thats nice,, youre a kabayan right? is it mostly filipinos that you skate with or there are arab kids and other expats there too?

this last part was pretty heavy with Ed's wife spilling her feelings as well as when Ed talked about kicking Chris Senn off. I couldn't see the pic of when Ed broke his neck, I had to look away for that.

yeah bro.. the small community over here is really diverse, about 5-8 filipino skaters, 10 local arab skaters, and some other skaters from South Africa, US, malaysia, brunei, germany etc... really diverse but mostly kids of the expats that work over here

"teaser" video should be up later

that was cool ^^^ it seemed like the guys still had fun. good stuff too

here's a short video from FTC in SF. this "park" is pretty cool but I'm too shy to skate it when I go up there, I've been there twice but never skated bc of shyness. I'm always shy at skateparks, either that or it's my anxiety and takes a minute for me to mellow out.

the music is really dope as well.

sick spot dude. i get the same feeling when i skate and dont know anyone there, i get really really shy. same thing happened when i went to a park at Dubai and there were tons of skaters, i ended up just watching everyone rip

forgot this dude jean marc was featured on Ride channel

today we got to film some crazy flat ground tricks.. will post when it gets out

a Brandon Westgate remix

also came across this cool trip video.

footage from the "park" yesterday
so weird watching this because it seems to be only the few skaters there and its a "comp" sponsored by red bull

In Boston theres the hundreds of skaters and little kids watching

Shows how different it is in other countries

^^^dope

there's great skaters in my city but it seems none want the spotlight on them aide from MOOSE. maybe the 'fun not fame' movement had something to do with it.

anyways, Volcom 'true to this' is showing live for free for 24 hours, they announced it at 10 in the morning (pst) so get on it if you read this.

Volcom put their new surf/skate/snow video online for today. Would maybe buy a DVD version if they separated the sections into chapters. Would take the guesswork out of skipping around for the people who aren't into surfing or snowboarding. Is it just me or is it annoying when companies try to lump all the "action sports" together? I feel like it's how a lot of the media lumps all Asian-Americans (or Asians in general) together as a group.

All montage footage, so unless you know who rides for them, it's just a lot of crazy footage. Didn't care for the music or them using a floating camera for a lot of the floating mini ramp footage. Why do I want to feel like I'm in the middle of the ocean bobbing up and down while I'm trying to watch Grant Taylor and David Gonzales skate?

Bummed that Rowley quit Volcom a few weeks before the video came out as well.

Looks like oxpenguin posted the news while I was making this post.

Jaws is amazing, but I hope he doesn't end up cripple.

On the topic of local rippers, Sean Payne was always amazing to watch.

Last time I saw him, he was 6' 6" and riding 7.5" boards backwards. Weird to think that Pancho Moler might have been riding a wider board than him considering the height differences.

can't believe JAWS skates an 8.1 board considering all the high stuff he jumps off of, figured he'd ride something bigger for more foot space.

reminds me of friday when I got clowned on IG for asking 'Real' to make 7.9 boards again, I got a wave of kids telling me to man up and quit skating a b*tch size

"True To This" was good but I did skip the surfing and mountain snowboarding. the skating and street snowboarding was amazing though.

video was way too over hyped or maybe I'm just a tad close minded.

Thanks for the post, I enjoyed the video. I sometimes get annoyed when people lump all "action sports" together. I like the Volcom stuff because I skated for many years in my younger days and I still snowboard regularly. I have only tried surfing a couple of times, but I sure as he'll live watching it. All the "action sports" are all unique in their own way, but the common theme is that all the athletes at these levels are insane. In a good way.

maybe the lumping of everything was a bad idea for this video, maybe if they did parts would the video have been better? it's weird going from gnarly skateboarding and snowboarding to surfing which is a lot more mellow.

I definitely respect everyone in their respective sport, definitely not taking anything away.

finally some Ethan Loy stuff. love his style and trick selection.

that spot at 28 seconds is a local spot of mine but getting to it is hard, it's two cities away and up in the mountains obviously and I heard one way to go is pretty much climbing the mountain but I have no idea which way and the other is going through the gates of the housing community in which this spot lies on. only way to do it is by a password since the gates are guarded 24/7 by two security guards so there goes hopping the gates idea.

Kids don't know about when people were trying to do kickflips on 10" wide boards with rails, 60mm "street" wheels, Jimmy Z shorts and Vision Street Wear shoes, purposely leaving griptape off of 9" boards so one-footed ollies were easier, bouncing pressure flips off the sidewalk with a football-shaped 8" board, 43mm "bearing covers" cut and taped Airwalks and bright green Blind pants, pole jams with a 8.25" "east coast board" and 55mm Nicotines, or learning half-cab crooked grinds with a 7.5" board with 50mm wheels, cinched up "swishy pants" and eS Koston 3s or Axion Guy Marianos.

Actually, I'm a little jealous that they didn't have to go through all that because I feel as if skaters didn't know any better and we were just trying to figure out what would work as skating changed so much.

Spent a good part of the late 90's to early 2000s riding 7.5" boards and 52mm wheels and eventually went up to a 7.875" a few years ago and am riding an 8" on 56mm wheels now.

tl;dr the comments on IG are as bad, if not worse than the comments on YouTube.

I don't recall ever owning the Muskas, but I can co-sign on the OG Koston 1s and last Sal Barbier pro models for sure. Nike/eS need to reissue those b/c I would definitely buy those again based purely on nostalgia value.

Air Max Koston 1 SBs? Nike's leaving a lot of money on the table by not releasing those! Heck, I'd even settle for some Zoom/Lunarlon Koston 1s!

In other old school news, after reading the Danny Sargent Chromeball Incident interview, I'm hoping that someone has been filming him skating lately.

I remember that Lakai released the OG eS koston ones a couple of years back.  I was talking to the owner of my local shop recently about all the new eS releases and i asked him if he thinks they will re-release the koston 1s and the muskas and he said NO WAY on the muskas but he wouldnt be surprised if the did release the koston 1's.  So, i took that with a grain of salt, but i would LOVE to get my hands on some K-1s.

I picked up a pair of the sal 23s when they re-released back in early 2000's, but all they had was the white suede with black sole.  I wish i could have gotten them in the red upper/black sole, white upper/caroline blue sole, or the GOAT brown upper/gum sole.
