Ha, this is exactly what's going on with him.
If you ask me...Drake's actually doing him a favor. He basically grew up a huge Drake stan and harbors resentment that he's not one of the guys from the city that Drake gave an oop to. He started going at Drake's neck as soon as his 15 minutes started. Ironically enough, by being enough that now Drake isn't ignoring him anymore...he's getting that oop that he always wanted
If the biggest rapper in the world gives you attention then it lends you credibility. He knows what he's doing. He constantly throws subs on record, on social media, etc. Gets asked about it and hides his hands and pretends that it's just the "media" playing games.
Both of those ****** are weirdos.
Constantly does overt things to make sure him and Drake will get linked together, then when he does interviews (press in which he KNOWS drake is going to be brought up) He acts as if it's unwarranted.

Lanez went out of his way to make sure the Breakfast Club interview didn't have anything to do with Drake though.
Some of the antics are corny but also I think this decade is not used to someone who unapologetically wants to be the best, given that most rappers (who take it seriously) relatively in the mainstream are not trying to lose that Drake stimulus. So they concede to him being #1.
