***Official Breakfast Club Interview Thread***

Trump on the breakfast club would be wild

He'd probably walk out within the first 10 minutes

 Some of these new dudes are lost

I think lil Yachty is one of the worst things to ever happen to hip hop....

But he's NOT wrong here. What he said makes sense. And is kinda the same sentiment that allowed hip hop to be birthed.

Dude is easily a lot smarter than he comes off. Still trash and a vulture though.

So the excuse for Tupac/Biggie is that they died before he was born.

Yet he knows very well who Andre 3000 is even though he was 6 when the Love Below came out.

maybe he likes outkast's music and tried to get into big and pacs but didn't like it

25+ ****** cannot fathom that someone just doesn't like old *** music

also dre was going on a crazy run of verses in 05-07 + class of 3000 so millenials had an idea of who he was before even getting into the catalog

So which one is it? Is he just not into Big/Pac and but into Old *** 3000 or you going to play the "old guys can't fathom blah blah blah" card?

You can't do both. If he's a fan of 3000...it damn sure just ain't off guest verses. Surely he would have had to go back and listen to the catalog.

Stop fronting and just call it what it is. Troll culture is a big part of the 90s baby millenial culture. They get off on doing and saying things in an attempt to get under ppl's skin. **** on my colored dreads and sagging skinny jeans era and I'm going to **** on your baggy jeans and pinwheels era.

That's the real reason why this argument is synonymous with Lil Yachty. He's being annoying on purpose. He knows how saying those things are going to come across...which is why he does it. It ain't so much as the "old guys" not understanding how a kid born in the late 90s wouldn't be AS familiar with 90s era music...as much as it is about "young guys" wanting to **** on what came before them as a defense mechanism for how their era is criticized.

Let's just call a spade a spade. I see it on the internet EVERYDAY. Some kid with purple dreads and a tongue ring gets tired of hearing how much Lil Uzi and his entire culture sucks. so in response they start ******** on the "old guys" in defense.

it's a generational clash. This isn't new.

It makes sense though. This _ got Drake as his best rapper ever and Souja Boy and Lil B in his top 5.

Of course he won't connect to Pac or Big. They was actually great rappers with substance.

Andre is a goat but he probably couldn't name songs off Southernplayalistic or ATLiens. He probably likes 3K cuz he kinda started the weirdo rapper trend.

Again...it's not about him and his connection to them. He's going out of his way to **** on them out of defiance. He's not just saying, "Hey those guys were before my time, I've never really heard them much"...he's saying **** like "Drake, Lil B > Pac".

So for him to say in that video up top that he "doesn't know them" is a lie...because clearly he has to know enough to say that "so and so" are better than them. That video he's referring to in which he says he "only recorded" proves this. Him and all his friends know EXACTLY who Pac and Big were and are very familiar with the music. They were quoting them in that video.

That's like me saying "I don't really know much about Oscar Robertson, that was before my time"...and then turn around and say "Kobe is way better than Oscar Robertson".

Some of these dudes think it's cool to be dumb about the culture.

"I don't listen to old dusty music"

It's that mindset. It's black culture vultures out here too.

"Millenials ain't know"? You do know the bracket for the millennial generation is 1980-1994? I'm 28, and was 6 when 'Kast came out. The kids a) either didn't listen or b)weren't allowed to listen to hip hop/rap (which is understand).

I remember this young cat aged 21, told me that I looked like Andre 3k. My little cousin is 19 (born in 1997) and she knows about Jay-Z, Nas, 90s r&b, etc. because our family played music from all levels.

You have toddlers and kindergarteners who know about MICHAEL JACKSON, kids 3 and 6 years old who know about Michael, who had been doing songs since the 1960s.

Some excuses are valid, some are not.

Would y'all have rathered this _ lie?

This is my point. HE IS LYING

The ***** said he didn't know their music. And then on several occasions proved he did know their music.

Idc if he likes it not. I'm simply saying he's ******** on them trying to be funny on purpose. He's a world class troll.

i don't know if it's necessarily in response to being ******* on but i don't doubt yachty is partly trolling to fit into a gimmick of being the embodiment of what old ****** hate about hip hop at this moment the same way soulja did a decade ago

My mom despises hiphop and even she knows 2Pac and Biggie and can name at least a few songs. And we don't even have a hiphop radio station over here
laugh.gif

You have to be deliberately ignorant of hiphop history to not at least know some basic information about them.

I think he should get some degree of credit for at least being honest about not being educated on 2Pac and Biggie history and not being on some "nah **** that dusty *** 90s trash" sentiment.

also you can be familiar with who big and pac are and not familiar with their catalogs outside of the big poppas and one more chance and hypnotized and changes and hit em up and keep ya head up that has been played to death on the VH1 documentaries

streaming has made it easier but unless you're a true head of this ****, an 8-10 year old isn't gonna care enough about these ****** to go limewire or utorrent their old albums
